poor customer service
Pros: Customer service at pick-up counter was great! Customer services at drop-off was great! I was driving to Florida from Dallas. While in Florida the oil level light came on. It would not reset. I also went to buy oil to put in the vehicle but no owners manual for type. Looked online and kept getting 2 different choices for oil etc.... Spent more time dealing with that than I had so I went to 2 different shops to just have it changed or have them add oil to reset the light. Other than the fact that I was annoyed that I now had to pay for an oil change, at each location there was a 2+ hour wait. I then decided to call ALAMO to find a location near me that I could either have them reset it etc... or switch out the vehicle. Long story short after a couple of attempts of dealing with customer service I asked for a manager. I was on hold for quite a bit so I hung up and went on my way using LYFT to get around for the day (now I am paying for a rental and paying to be driven around all day). Someone from customer relations did return my call (a couple of times and on the last attempt left a message asking me to take the car into a Firestone for service and at no cost to me). I never answered as I was busy the entire day and returned to my room after business hours. The next day, on my way back to Dallas, I stopped at the airport to have the problem addressed and the manager at the airport location approved another SUV for me. He was very helpful and I believe he could sensed my frustration evident in my body language. The agent I dealt with initially was not going to help me - told me he had nothing to give me (same old story as the customer service agents I initially had contact with). Thank you ALAMO management team but I did not appreciate having to go through the initial hassle before getting the help I was looking for and received from management.
Cons: Windows are not wiped down after washing. It irritates me that I get to a car and the windows are spotty from air drying after a wash (especially dirty spots which indicates a piss-poor wash. Interior was poorly cleaned as well. There was nothing on the floor by the side doors and seats had not been cleaned. There were dried lines of something running down the driver and passenger door (sweat or lemonade or something). The smell of the vehicle. Not smoke just musty. There was no owners manual in the glove compartment. I was in a hurry or I would have asked someone to wipe the windows down etc... or give me another vehicle. There was no one outside/on the lot as I glance around so I just did it myself when I had a chance.

Pros: Quick and easy drop-off
Cons: The drop off location was difficult to find because the signage only takes you to half the car rental companies but doesn't say that Alamo and a couple others are farther down the road There was no one inside the office

Cons: The Alamo representative at Love Field asked if we wanted Alamo insurance on the car. He did not tell us it was per day and not per rental. We thought this was misleading! The driver side front tire was leaking air. We needed to add air at the midpoint of our trip and by the time we turned it in, the air was down again.

Pros: I accidentally reserved the car for love field instead of DFW and they still honored my reservation and even gave me a larger vehicle, I just had to pay the difference in the airport taxes. Thanks Alamo!
Cons: Rental car place is far away from airport, high airport tax
