Pros: It was fine, but expensive!

Cons: i put the wrong return time on my reservation so when I went to get my rental, I couldn't get the rate that I got at the time I reserved on line. So i had to pay full price, over $100 more for my rental.

Airport counter needs HELP!
Pros: The vehicle met our needs nicely!
Cons: The airport counter had no idea where their vehicles were. Or if they had enough. On this day they were severely lacking inventory.

Cons: The pricing. Returned the vehicle within the 30 min window allotted by the policies and was charged for an extra day. Did not state hours of operation, claimed 24-hours, upon arrival entity was closed.

Kayak does not provide all the details
Pros: The Hyundai sonata that was reserved for me drove really well. Although I didn't have to deal with any harsh weather conditions.
Cons: Kayak does not provide all the details. The rental company has new ways to make money. And they will try to sell you more coverage at pickup and also pre-pay for fuel. Also, if you happen to have any change of plans, the company is flexible, but at a substantial cost.

Price gouging on Gas and Bait and Switch
Cons: The "premium" car was a Chevy Impala while they had a Mercedes pictured on the website. When asked, the agent blamed the website operator and had no other options. Upon returning the vehicle i was charged for gas even though I had gassed up on the way to the drop off. The car showed just below 15/16th of a tank so they called it 7/8 and charged me $20 more dollars. Ridiculous. Dollar should change their name to "Nickle and Dime."

Cons: Was charged for coverage i didn't ask for or need. No supervisor there to talk to to straighten things out, and all the kid at the counter was able to do was give me a $54 credit for my "inconvenience". I was in a hurry due to family emergency and was forced to rent the car at higher rental price. Ended up being charged double what it should have been. I had a very poor experience and would not recommend to my worst enemy. I would say go with another company that will treat you right. I would never deal with them again... ever.

Pros: It had 4 wheels
Cons: Price was not only $48 as listed. More like $90 after the lowest insurance package and fees for the smallest cheapest car they had on site. Plus had to fill it with gas.

Pros: Dollar Rental is a great value for the Dollar. The process is easy; the location pick up and drop off at the airport is perfect; the personnel are friendly and professional. The hours the service is open is also a plus: allowing very early (or late, depending on how you look at it) arrival or departure. Vehicles are clean, updated, and great on gas mileage (if you get the smaller size.) All in all, it's a great rental option.
Cons: At the counter, the representative handed me a card and said, "Choose one of these options." It was the insurance coverage. Selecting the very "lowest" coverage more than doubled what I was expecting to pay for my week's rental. BUT... it was my "fault" for not remembering that it is not necessary to purchase the additional coverage, as my own insurance would have covered any damages. So remember: pay attention!!! I could have stopped, could have said, "Oh, wait..." but was too much in a hurry to get on my way, and too tired from the long flight in. None of which is Dollar's "fault" - buyer beware!

Cons: Over charged me, said they would just hold a certain amount but charged more than what was on the contract so now I have to call them. Originally told me they needed a 350$ deposit and I told them absolutely not. And I'm glad I did. I will never use dollar again.

Easy pickup & delivery - car size was less than I
Pros: Ease of pickup and delivery
Cons: the advertisement lead me to believe I was getting a mid-size car but I got a compact instead - with a hatchback. However, considering what I was using it for, it turned to be OK.

Pros: THE SERVICE WAS GREAT,AND THE CAR WAS PERFECT
Cons: MY DAUGHTER WAS LATE GETTING THE CAR BACK AND MY BILL STARTED AT $93.00 AND WENT TO $400.0 0 . I HAD A TERRIBLE CHRISTMAS AND ALSO HAVE A NEGATVE BALANCE IN MY BANK ACCOUNT, BUT THE WORST THING THAT HAPPEN WAS THE AGENT DIDN'T TELL US WE COULD HAVE KEPT THE CAR FOR MORE DAYS SINCE WE HAVE TO PAY $300.00 EXTRA.

Mediocre gas mileage and ignition but stellar hand
Pros: Volkswagen mid size SUV. Less than $300 per week. Painfully slow checkout. All wheel drive was excellent.

Had to return twice
Pros: It was a nice small car..the second one. It got me around at a decent price. I opted for the "generic" rental for a lower price so got one of the smaller cars.
Cons: I returned immediately after only going about six miles because the low tire warning light was on--it was very cold out. They put air in the tires and said everything was okay. I wanted a different car but they said it would be fine. I had to return the next day as the light came on again. This time I insisted on a different car. I did get a different car. The people were very polite both times.

Avoid returning car late
Pros: The car itself was fine.
Cons: The price of the rental more than doubled because it was returned three hours late. I was told that it invalidated the whole contract and changed the daily rate from $16 per day to $41 per day. This was in addition to charges for the extra three hours.

Pros: Easy access at airport
Cons: Dollar rental completely fooled me into buying a $100 upgrade car. I rented an economy car, and when I got to the rental place they asked "would you like a corolla or Jetta?"...I picked Jetta. Next day I return the car they tell me I have an upgrade car so there's a $100 dollar charge. Not once did they say this was an upgrade, and not once did they tell me I would have to pay $100 more...these people are snakes.

Good, Bad and Ugly
Pros: Desk agent at check-in was courteous and remembered me from previous visits. He had a lot of customers and handled them well, but wait time could have been streamlined if the people sitting in the staff room directly behind him had offered to help.
Cons: At return, there was just one man working. I asked for a receipt (as I have to turn in printed receipts for expenses and was hoping to drop in the MAIL before my international flight. He said he couldn't do it and walked off mumbling something. As i was unloading the car (I carry a lot of equipment with me when I travel) he returned, asked for my contract and wrote FULL on it (I had left the gas receipt on the dashboard). I told him the contract had "estimated cost" and was not acceptable to my employer, he instructed me to go to desk to get a printed copy. Keep in mind, I have A LOT of stuff, and I'm scurrying to make a 7:00 AM international flight. I am also the only one in the parking garage besides him at 5:00 AM. He made no offer to help me retrieve a carrier, to call the desk to have the receipt prepared, and was not carrying the typical handheld ticket printer every car rental company uses for return ease. The woman at the desk asked me why I needed a receipt and had an unfriendly disposition about being bothered, as typing the information into the computer there seemed to be a deliberate method of slowly and angrily tapping the keys, then reading the screen with a pinched-up facial expression. She demanded a receipt (despite the gate agent's scribble that the tank was full) and then typed in a whole lot more information. Returning a car has never been so complicated, and as the lasting impression of Dollar, an unfortunate portrayal for the company.

Did not get what we signed up for...
Pros: Easy pick up and return
Cons: We did not get what we paid for. The promotion said we would get a mid to full size car but when we got to the Dollar counter, they would only give us a car that was a size down from the mid. Even though I should her the car that was in the promo add and the ad stated equivalent of or larger than. :-(

Chaotic organization at CMH airport
Pros: The location of the facility is close to the gates, I could walk there. Drop off was much better than pickup.
Cons: According to website, office opens at 5:00am on Sundays, but they(only one cashier)didn't show up until 7:10am. My reservation wasn't until 8:00am(I showed up early), but if one was expecting an early pickup then it would have been horrible. Then there was a backlog until a key to unlock the garage gate could be found. Also, I was initially charged a higher rate than my KAYAK quote. I spoke with a man in front of me who said that this location in particular tends to not respect the reservation price(for me it was about $3 more per day). I showed the cashier my reservation and he kind of brushed it off saying something about airport surcharges and rates, etc. I did have a lower rate than the quote when I returned the car, but I'm not sure if because I returned a few hours early. I'm not sure I would rent from this location again. Finally I really didn't like the driver's seat of the Kia Soul. The headrest pushes too far forward, so I couldn't get my upper back up again the seat. I had to completely remove the head rest to get comfortable. Cleanliness of car was okay, so gunk in drink holder, but other wise not an issue.

Cons: The drop off and pick up did not go smoothly. The after hours drop off was not clearly marked, making it difficult to return the car.

Cons: Why would you allow me to reserve a rental car for pickup at a time when you aren't open? That's what happened to me. Reserved a car for pickup at 600am, but they weren't even open! I had to cancel a job interview, and thus lost a great job opportunity due to my experience with your terrible company. Will not ever use this company again.

Pros: Car was excellent. Comfortable, efficient gas mileage and included Sirius XM service.
Cons: Pickup was tedious. 15 people in line and only 2 agents working. (They were working very hard, though.) MORE IMPORTANTLY, Dollar changed the rental rate on me upon turn-in and CHARGED ME DOUBLE WHAT THE CONTRACT PRICE INDICATED. The agent at turn-in gave me the "we cant make corrections here, you have to go to the rental desk" line and the rental agent at the desk said she could not change it because that's what the computer does and I would have to speak to a manager, who, unsurprisingly, was not there. I WILL NOT RENT FROM THEM AGAIN.

Cons: The rep was rude, apparently their prices have increased, and you no longer have the choice of selecting your own vehicle. If you want to switch to another vehicle in the same category, that will change the price of the rental agreement.

They did not know why, but they could not honor the quote. I said, can you give me an upgrade or make it right some other way? They said, sorry, we cannot. Then I got into the car- It had not been cleaned properly. When I got out into the snowy weather, I realized the windshield wipers were bad. The went back & forth but they just smeared & didnt actually wipe. I did not feel safe.

Good Rental for the Price
Pros: The Dollar representative was very friendly and helpful. The gentleman who showed us to our car was nice as well. The price for the rental was awesome! The only suggestion is that the car be cleaned before delivery. The specific car we were given smelled of cigarette smoke and there were cigarette ashes throughout the vehicle. We took it home, vacummed it and aired it out before our trip. Drop off was easy and overall, this was a good experience except for the cleanliness of the car.

Found a good deal through KAYAK
Pros: I needed a mid-size SUV, and found a reasonable price for DOLLAR versus other options. Pick up went smoothly and there were several options for me to choose from. The vehicle performed well and was very clean. Drop of went without a hitch and I was on my way to the terminal quite quickly.
Cons: Every car rental company scripts their check-in process to add-in options that aren't required. I wish they would be more clear. This experience wasn't bad - but I could have ended up paying more if I hadn't declined insurance that is already covered by my car insurance policy.

Cons: I had a long trip and the car wasn't great on the highway. It was a bit too small and had terrible pick-up. I also paid twice as much as was listed on kayak.
