Cons: The car ran poorly. It ended up costing more than when I booked online. Not great service.
Nov 29 2016
Pros: All the personnel we encountered were very friendly
Cons: I paid extra for a midsize and they tried to stick me in a subcompact. Had to convince the desk person to give me what I paid for. The return process was a bit confusing, wasn't exactly sure where to park the car. The checkout person was efficient.

Pros: Upgraded to a larger vehicle to accommodate a wheelchair Being able to choose the car we wanted
Cons: $75 dollar toll charge There were cars on the lot that had no keys
Nov 27 2016
Pros: Car was fine. As a frequent car renter who habitually declines all insurance, I was tricked by agent into signing a contract with a daily insurance charge exceeding the rental charge. When I discovered it, I considered it too late to deal with, so I will resort to the consumer's best defense and vote with my feet.

Drive from Denver to Aspen
Pros: The car was very reliable.
Cons: The windows on the car were all dirty. We had to pull over and and get them cleaned. This should be done before turning over a car to a customer. I also paid twice as much $200than the reported price $90 on kayak. We were upsold to a much more expensive car with out being explained the details. The attendant said the car we picked wouldn't make it to our destination so out of fear we agreed. When we arrived we saw plenty of small compact cars. It just felt like a bad upscale tactic.

Get what you pay for
Pros: I got my car in a fairly efficient manner.
Cons: The beat up old mini-vans I was told chose from were all subpar and in bad shape.

Not a full size
Pros: The dollar counter person worked with me in resolving a difference in the booking.
Cons: I didn't like the fact that I had asked for a full sized car when booking through Kayak, only to find out I was getting a compact. I feel there was misleading information in the booking process.

Bait and switch
Cons: Poor attitude at counter, lazy, only two customers and pointed other person to kiosk. Admin charges for tolls are a rip off. I won't quickly forget the bad experience.

the renting office somewhat a hustle
Pros: The car was fine, even if not what I expected/wanted/paid for.
Cons: Long wait for just a few people in line. I listened to one agent successfully give a hard sell for their daily toll package -- I think it was $12.99. The agent said that each time you would go through a toll without the package, the charge was $18. I remember a much different and cheaper experience my last trip here. I in my turn was not offered the package -- it wasn't mentioned. My agent convinced me to upgrade for $20/day for a Camry or Altima compatible car. What the upgrade entitled me to on the lot turned out to be a Corolla or Sentra, definitely inferior to what was promised. But the process took so long and was such a headache, I took what was offered. They won. But they lost potential repeat busines.

Cons: Dollar refused to honor its price quote and tried to increase the weekend cost by over $105. I left and went next door to Thrifty rental and got a better car than I had requested at Dollar for the price that I had been quoted at Dollar. I will never use Dollar again. I suggest that you not keep Dollar as a client.

Pros: Almost nothing. Only that it was drivable.
Cons: It is not fair to charge me 55 dollars more a day since I'm not 25 years old. So my total was $105 for one day. It is rediculas!!! I think you should look more into the driving record instead of a person's age because I have a very good driving record and I shouldn't have been charged more. And also car had disturbing smell to it. The price was not even close to what I reserved on Kayak....

efficient and friendly staff and no hassle pickup
Pros: Staff provides good service. Compared to Avis, the difference is night and day. Avoid Avis.
Cons: The car was a bottom end Hyundai Accent. It does not even have cruise control. The sound system was also crappy. From this perspective, the rental is not the best value.

Offerred scam toll tag
Cons: The rental experience was fine, except for the offer of a toll tag for $49 that would 'cover all your toll costs.' It was also mentioned that 'penalties are very high' for cares without the tag. This was in Denver, where there is only one toll road and absolutely no need to use it for anyone driving into downtown. This point was obscured by the agent. This is nothing short of a scam of unwary renters.

Pros: I got a car to drive around
Cons: I had to wait over an hour and half to get the rental due to a long line and only one person staffing the desk. They did have LOTR on the tv thankfully.

NEVER EVER AGAIN
Pros: NOTHING. I have rented cars routinely for over 15 years as a business traveler and have never had an experience like this before and will never do this again. The up front price may be higher at the higher end car rental companies but at least you KNOW what you are going to pay.
Cons: They tried to upcharge me more than the original rental charge to get the car I had requested. Tried to intimidate me into their insurance when I selected the full insurance option when I made the reservation . They said that the fine print on that policy was going to leave me not covered. they charged for a spouse to be an additional driver at $30.00 a day! We had 2 reservations one ended up costing 3 times the original rental quote and leaving everyone upset and took over an hour to get into the car. Car was also in poor condition including patched seats. The second reservation we walked away from. We ended up with a better car for less money at a competitor and nobody harassing me into paying something different from the quoted price and spouses drove for free!

Pros: Easy and quick

Hope you like to wait
Pros: The employees are very helpful and polite but they need more of them.
Cons: Starting with the 20 minute for the shuttle wait I should have known the reviews were correct. Arrived around midnight and when I got to the Dollar counter, there was 1 person working both Dollar and Thrifty helping people pickup AND Drop off their vehicles. I waited over an hour to pickup my vehicle.
Oct 16 2016
Pros: Drop off was fast.
Cons: Pick-up was terrible. No lines, but still took forever -- seemed to be a very inefficient process. They also gave us a smaller car than we reserved, but we were waiting so long that I just took it so we could get out of there. There was also a rip in the fabric on one of the seats.
Oct 13 2016
Cons: Very long wait to pick up the car - almost one hour in line. Received a car with prior driver damage - panel on the outside of the car near the rear wheel popped out of place while we were driving on the highway and flapped and banged in the wind. Had to tape it down with duct tape to keep it in place. Was told the car would hold two suitcases. Could not fit our two carryon cases in the trunk.
Oct 12 2016
I paid $100 more than what Kayak quoted
Cons: When I booked the car in Kayak, the type of car was not revealed. When I reached Dollar, I was told the car can not even accommodate one suitcase and they offered another car with $100 more. I had no choice but to take the car. Moreover, the LDW insurance paid through Kayak was not recognized by Dollar as well.
Oct 11 2016
Cons: My bill was 3 times higher than Kayak quoted
Oct 6 2016
Pros: lowest quote online price.
Cons: worst possible service and long wait.
Oct 5 2016
Pros: They were the most reasonable price I could find for that particular week.
Cons: The price was much more than actually listed on Kayak. Also, after returning the car I received an e-bill showing a charge of $67.99 for 'Toll Fee'. When I rented the car, the agent asked if I wanted Toll Access. I asked her if I would be charged if I didn't use a toll road and she said 'No, you'll only be charged if you use it" which I didn't. I phoned customer service and explained my issue. I was told it was an non-refundable charge. After some discussion, she offered to refund half. When I explained to her that I had the original rental contract that did not display the toll fee, she reluctantly agreed to 'go against policy' and refund the charge entirely. Watch those receipts!!

Crazy high price, with a midget car with no power
Pros: Got charged $50 plus a day, when I was getting emails for $19-$24 per day. Crazy high for the value.
Cons: Had to wait forever for the Dollar bus and the wait at the office was very long and no one seemed to be worried about it. Wouldn't do it again.
Oct 3 2016
Cons: Customer service at the desk was terrible, but the manager was very accommodating.
Oct 3 2016
Pros: Shuttle service was efficient. Check in and drop off was quick. Took us having to sit in several cars to find one that was comfortable. Plenty of selection.
Cons: Counter agents weren't interested in what they were doing. We were just directed out a door and to row B, which was in the back of the lot with no visible signage. No economy cars were available, so we were told just to take any car in A,B or C, however another customer was driving back from trying to leave saying she was going to be charged extra for the upgrade. The techs then got several more economy cars available.

I up graded
Pros: I up graded to a all wheel drive it was ok
Cons: I thought it was a little expensive for the up grade. But I didn't have time to compare

Listen to all the other reviews or you will pay BI
Pros: Nothing at all. This place deserves their 1 star rating because they suck.
Cons: Everything, rude staff, liars, thiefs, scammers. Got ripped off because that's how this company works.

I will never use Dollar again
Cons: I had to reroute my flight due to American Airlines being completely unreliable. I ended up flying into Denver instead of Colorado Springs. Due to my late arrival I had to rent a car in order to get to my car at the Colorado Springs airport. When I got to the building, there were four people in line in front of me (three of which were traveling together) and no attendant in sight. Finally the woman in the front of the line waved someone down and asked if there was anyone working. Miraculously, three attendants showed up. (I guess break time is more important than customer service). The gentleman who "helped" me clearly spoke English as a second language and made our communication incredibly difficult. I declined insurance because my personal insurance covers rentals and I declined the toll reader. The gentleman at the counter was very pushy about the insurance and toll reader, almost as if he got commission if I accepted, but I stayed firm and again declined both. I then asked if I could go straight to the airport in Colorado Springs to drop off the rental and pick up my own car so I would not have to pay the two day rental fee that Kayak was showing I was going to be charged when I made my reservation, but because of the language barrier was told to drop it off at noon the following day. After conducting my own research I found that the soonest I could drop the car off was 6 the following morning when they reopened because they do not have 24 hour drop off service at Colorado Springs airport. I was told my total and almost crapped my pants, but figured I was getting charged for two days and would sort it out at the Colorado Springs Dollar desk since this gentleman clearly was not understanding anything I had to say. He did not go over my contract with me, nothing about my contract showed up on the electronic signature panel when I told me to sign. Again, I was under the impression he followed my request for no insurance coverage and no toll reader, so I signed. I left the Denver airport at 11:30pm and returned the car at 6:00am the following morning. Which means I had the car for a total of 6 1/2 hours. I drove from Denver airport to my house to Colorado Springs airport. When I went to the counter at Colorado Springs to dispute my two day charge since I only had the car for 6 1/2 hours and the fact that I couldn't have turned it in the same day because they don't have 24 hour drop off, I was informed that I wasn't charged two days, but was charged the daily rate for one day, the drop off at a different location fee, extended insurance coverage fee and the toll box fee. I was livid! I was told there was nothing hey could do for me at that location since the rental and contracted were initiated at a different location and that I would have to contact the Denver office. My e-mailed receipt after I turned in the car said I paid $198.00 for the 6 1/2 hours I had the basic model Ford Fiesta, but my bank statement shows I have a $223 pending charge.
Aug 31 2016
Pros: Staff very pleasant. Quick return. Comfortable car.
Cons: Upgrades were expensive. No plug in in back.
Aug 26 2016
Cons: Waited a very long time for the shuttle to take folks to the rent cars. Other buses had come two to three times before Dollar came around. Tried to call the rental counter to inquire but no answer each time I called. Also, I'm pretty sure I paid for a mid size and they stuck me in a compact.
Aug 8 2016
Cons: Car was very dirty. I usually don't care about the sound system in rental cars, but the speakers in this car were notably weak. I would mess with the bass (all the way up / all the way down) with 0 change.
Jul 30 2016
Cons: Nobody was available at drop off. After waiting for 30min, they tried to suddenly add upgrade charges even though I never requested/received an upgrade
Jul 15 2016
Expensive and slow
Pros: The minivan was ok
Cons: The pickup process was interminable. The guy kept trying sell me insurance. The price was very high $150/day and ONLY a minivan was available. The checkout process took a long time to leave the lot. Drop off was slow. I paid a premium price for a mediocre product and very poor service

WRONG EMAIL WRONG PERSON
Cons: This was sent to the wrong email. All the information. The poor man' address etc were all sent to my email. I did not rent a car, some guy name Mike did, he lives in Denver, I am in Michigan. Now I will probably get emails from Dollar, which I do not want.
