    Just okay to the core
Pros: Decent vehicle (Toyota Camry) with fair amount of room
Cons: Vehicle not vacuumed, apple core found in passenger footwell, lousy return drop off service requiring dealing with counter personnel, pressured upsell attempt to a vehicle I expressed zero need for expressly.

    surprisingly inept
Cons: My flight arrived at Denver International around 1020 pm. After waiting outside at the island under the Budget sign for 18 minutes (I timed it), I called the number on the email I received from Kayak only to find out that the number was for Avis, not Budget. The budget agent then transferred me. Now talking to Budget, I asked if the shuttle was still running and if so how frequently it ran. I was told by the agent that the shuttle runs roughly every 5-6 minutes. After I told her it had been 18 minutes, she told me I could take an Avis shuttle as well since they were in the same place. 2 minutes later an Avis shuttle arrived and I hopped on. 2 other people joined me on the Avis bus with the expectation of going to Budget. After we arrived at the off-site Avis location, I asked the shuttle driver where the Budget drop-off was located. She said it was over a mile away and that she was forbidden from taking us any closer. So we then went back to the airport. 3 minutes after being dropped off at the original Avis pickup location at the airport, a Budget shuttle arrived so I hopped on board. After a condescending counter experience, I headed out to the assigned car. Upon reaching the exit gate, the person working the gate demanded my rental agreement and driver’s license. After he handed them back I said “thank you” and was met with a disinterested “uh-huh”. Now on the road for roughly 10 minutes into the 65 minute drive, I decided to turn on the radio. However the radio didn’t work. I then tried to turn on the interior lights so I could figure the radio but the interior lights didn’t work either. I had rented the exact same make and model of car 2 days earlier so I knew exactly how to work the interior. Given no radio, I decided to plug my phone into the USB port and listen to music through my phone. 5 minutes later my phone died—turns out the USB port wasn’t working. After this disaster, the next day I took my 1-way rental into the Colorado Springs airport. I told the woman behind the desk that I would like a refund because of all the issues. Additionally, the tank wasn’t full when I picked up the car, yet I had been told I was responsible for returning the car with a full tank – so I did. The woman behind the counter said she couldn’t help me with the gas because I didn’t have a receipt and also couldn’t help me with a refund because she was only the “destination” location. Any refunds had to be provided by the “origination” location. After that she gave me a number to call. As of today (the next day) I have yet to call the number. I’m trying to speculate what the next excuse will be. So this is where things sit. If you were me, would you rent from you?

Pros: A good substitute for the car I chose. Clean, new, gps
Cons: I had to wait in line an hour and forty-five minutes. Only 2 or 3 agents were working at 5 PM on Friday! NEVER AGAIN

Pros: I could get a car without a cracked windshield close to where I was staying the first day.
Cons: When I arrived to Budget there were at least 50 people in line ahead of me - it took over an hour to get a car. When I got out to the lot where the car was supposed to be, the slot was empty. The first employee I saw in the dark lot said he couldn't help me - another employee heard him saying he couldn't help me and he said yes, we should help her and came over to me. Eventually the helpful employee brought around another car and new paperwork and I was off. The gentleman checking paperwork at the out gate was condescending and on some kind of a power trip, holding on to my paperwork and asking irrelavent questions while 3 folks exit the other gate. The next morning when I went to the car to leave on the road trip I discovered the windshield was cracked. So I look up a Budget close to where I am and we go there to switch out the car. Car selection was very low, I ended up taking a dirty Nissan Altima that drove great. Comfort rating above pertains to the second car. Loved the car!
