Pros: Car was ok
Cons: The cost. Charged for second driver. Insurance was extremely high. Having to provide gas receipt was insulting.

Everything we asked for
Pros: Check out and check in were quick and easy. Car was easy to find in lot and clean. Ran as expected.

Pros: car was new and ok
Cons: drop-off personnel extremely rude. Also, In Tucson, they seem to be running a scam where you return the car completely full of gas and they charge you $13 for gas anyway if you don't have a receipt from within a few miles of the airport (I had filled up, requested receipt, but machine didn't work and counter people were too busy to provide)

Was ripped off
Pros: Staff was polite. Dropoff was easy.
Cons: Was charged an additional $150 on top of my reservation through kayak because they told me that "those reservations are not valid". So, I was charged twice for the same reservation and ended up paying over $200 for a two rental.

Cons: Two slow pokes ahead of me and the sign for their desk was small

Slow, unapologetic service with thinly veiled host
Pros: The car functioned well and was clean and comfortable.
Cons: It took forty minutes of waiting in line to pick up the car. When I got to the head of the line, there were no smiles, no apologies and a rather hostile statement about how I should reconsider my choice to decline their insurance because Arizona had special laws making me personally liable for "the whole cost of the car." The sales person may have had a valid point to explain to me but did it very poorly and in an unfriendly way. I did not feel like a valued customer, that's for sure.

Pros: The car I rented was very dirty plus it had a large crack in the windshield. Had I not been in such a hurry I would have returned it.

Pros: Actually I changed this pickup and dropoff location to Phoenix. But all worked well except the pickup person tried to move me to a more expensive vehicle, but I had my reservation with me and it all worked out well. Thanks! Peter

Good vs. Ugly
Pros: Proximity to the TUCSON airport.
Cons: Car was pretty filthy on the inside.

Terrible car mechanical defect.
Pros: Nothing. This was a terrible experience.
Cons: I drove 70 miles to help plan and attend a family funeral. the next day the rental car would not start easily. Once it did start it would not turn off. I called dollar right away. After being on hold for a very long time I explained the situation. The agent told me I could drive back 70 miles and return the car because that was the closest rental place. I explained that I could not do that and the car turned off. She told me she had to speak with the manager and see if they could bring another car. She never called back. I had many family members look at the car to help. I had funeral arrangements to make. They car was off and and. The next night it would not turn off. After being on hold and back and forth with the agent they agreed to send a town truck with a replacement car. I had to stay with the car for three hours until they arrived, as the car would not lock or turn off. Once the mechanic came he could not turn off the car either and told me it was a demon car. This experience was very hard to deal with during a family members death. I will never use dollar again .they gave me a car with dangerous mechanical problems and should have never given this car our. They are supposed to provide a safe working car . This should have been avoided with a proper safety inspection.

Great Resourceful Staff
Pros: The Staff was very resourceful as I was there to interview and find housing. The one great thing about the vehicle was the gas mileage.
Cons: The quality of the rental car. Very basic and manual in its features. For the price I would have expected a vehicle with Bluetooth at least. its 2017 all cars should have Bluetooth as a standard.

Pros: It was easy to find a vehicle with an attractive price and pick-up and drop-off locations that were convenient.

Pros: I liked the Prius. It was so easy getting the rental and in and out in a timely fashion. The gals at the desk were great.
Cons: Nothing stands out. I was impressed, I usually dread renting cars.

Pros: the price is good and the service is pretty standard (meaning, quite comparable to other rental car companies that charge more).
Cons: the car was new, but crappier than other low end options at other car rental agencies. also, insurance cost way more than renting the car itself, which stinks.

Cons: Car offered was not as advertised- offer showed a standard car but was advised the offer was only good for a compact. Will avoid dollar when possible in the future.

Pros: I was never told I needed to purchase extra insurance. I was only given the choice of what package. The cheapest was still three times the amount of the car.

Our worst experience ever
Pros: When we picked up our car they told us that the kayak insurance we were given was no good we had to get extra insurance that amounted to way way more… Then when we return the car, they ask for a receipt for gas. We didn't have the receipt but they could see that we returned it with a full tank, yet they insisted they had to charge us for gas without a receipt. We were tired and angry as we have been on the road for 3 1/2 week . We will never ever rent from dollar again. And would hope that kayak could return our insurance money which was not accepted

Cons: Tax that was being charged at the Airport was not included in the price listed on Kayak. We were really shocked to find out how much the total would be with the tax added.

Pros: The miles per gallon was the only thing good
Cons: Everything else was terrible, Dollar told me they where giving me a full size car and gave me a midsized car, the car had damage to it, the inside of the car was clean outside was dirty

Pros: reasonably cheap
Cons: Car was streaked with dirty water, some water spots/dirt inside the cabin also. Price was much more than originally quoted (almost double)

DO NOT rent a car from Dollar Rent A Car located i
Pros: NOT A THING!
Cons: This place is a joke. I was told that I had rented a compact car and the Dollar agent kept trying to upgrade me. After each upgrade offer, I asked if he was offering it at the rental price that I had been originally quoted ($90.88). Of course not! After about 20 minutes of my back-and-forth with the agent, my husband went to the National Car Rental counter next door and rented a 2016 Dodge Journey for the same amount of the Dollar "compact" car. What a crappy way to conduct business, Dollar.

Cons: Agent, without telling me, tried to up grade me. The cost went from $135 to $265. Fortunately I noticed and insisted on the $135 rate. He then tried for something about 1/2 way between. I again insisted on the quoted rate and got it. You have to pay attention!

Hyundai Accent from Dollar Rent A Car
Pros: Rented an Accent for a short stay in Tucson. Great little around town car. Dollar's computers were down when we arrived, but they had us on our way in 15 minutes even doing everything by hand.
Cons: The only negative was that the car was a little difficult to see out of to the rear. Pretty typical for a sub-compact.
