The staff were very polite and efficient. The shower was a lovely modern shower and the room was very clean and spacious. I have no bad points to report.
Very clean, very-very hospitable and reliable staff small rooms, no electric adaptors
Hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. Place is convenient--with train station just nextdoor and within walking distance to town.
Very clean and plesant hotel None
The room we were given was triangular, and thus very uncomfortable, especially in view of the fact that we were staying five nights.
very clean and comfortable room with good en suite facilities comfortable bed and good and sustaining breakfast. very noisy being situated ear a late night bar.
Cleanliness and decor Breakfast selection and layout
Room was clean and nice.good location. Elevator did not work, with my bad knees Ihad to climb up and down five floors.
Excellent location and the breakfast was good. They ignored my e-mail request for slightly early check-in and the lady behind the counter was rude.
The room was clean and modern. The situation was exactly where I expected it to be A negative comment is surely a complaint?. What I didn't like was the poor organisation and communication.
Good shuttle to airport. Service in the bar was poor. Wifi in room had weak/intermittent signal and was unusable.
Close proximity to the Manchester airport. 24 hour shuttle service to airport. The hotel had no record of our reservation, but the situation was handled well and rectified.
Good business hotel, warm and friendly staff, 5 mins from terminal expensive wifi just because I didn't book direct - it's a standard feature thesedays to at least offer a free basic connection - Hilton: please accept that most customers will use price comparison sites out of convenience rather than booking direct.
very convenient for manchester airport, very comfortable, helpful and friendly staff and good breakfast
Convenient to airport. Afternoon coffee and tea stupid expensive
Room was clean and well-presented and bathroom came with nice toiletries and fluffy towels. Front desk staff were very helpful when we found we had left our toothbrushes behind they had toothbrushes to us within 5 minutes! Airport/train transport was quick and efficient. Given its proximity to the airport it would be helpful to have in-room USB charging. We had left our plug converters with family and were unable to charge our phones/devices till we returned to the US.
Good hotel, quiet and restaurant on site. Staff were efficient and pleasant. Would stay again. No complaints
Excellent Even though you can see the hotel from the Airport terminal, it is difficult to walk to as there are some roads in the way which are difficult to cross. In the evening you must ring the hotel for the shuttle to fetch you. Difficult if you do not have a mobile.
I liked the plentiful hot water and good toiletries. I enjoyed the quietness of the room. The airport "shuttle bus" service was EXCELLENT. It was prompt and courteous. HOWEVER - it would have been useful if I had been informed about the shuttle service when I made my reservation. There is NO information at the railway station and the hotel "hotline" phones are in disrepair which meant that I had to wander around quite late at night looking for information that would direct me to the HILTON . The bathroom sink did NOT empty out - there was 'standing water' for a considerable length of time before it finally drained away. The bed mattress was not particularly comfortable and the skimpy bottom sheet kept pulling out of place - it needs to be a fitted sheet. The TV instructions were a little confusing - I never did figure out the "Morning wake-up call" system.
Free shuttle to airport, close to train station, helpful staff Need more outlets
Easy access from motorway network. Easy parking and very helpful staff. I've stayed twice and would definitely stay again. The food at dinner was inconsistent . For example one starter was wrong and the fruit salad was low quality and terribly presented. On the other hand main courses were good - inconsistent for a brand of Hilton's reputation.
The proximity of the hotel to the airport, the free shuttle service, the price offered via the web site The cracked basin in the bathroom, and the hole in the carpet in the room.
It is a beautiful hotel, our room was lovely. The decor was very comforting. Our eveing meal was lovely & the staff were friendly.
Clean ,functional. Food ok. Sadly there is not alot of competition in the area.. The newspaper was delivered late - just as I was leaving. Checking out was slow. No offer to help with bags or to be shown to the room
Very good functional room sensibly designed and furnished and warmly welcoming. My wife and I genuinely liked everything.
Comfort, cleanliness and convenience to the airport. Poor dining room service. Long wait to be served. Requested wake-up call was never received.
We particularly like the exceptionally pleasant helpful staff, We regularly use the hotel prior to flying from the airport, but it is far superior to most airport hotels and gives you the feeling of a comfortable country house hotel., totally divorced from the cattle holding pens in the airport!!!!
superb food in the restaurant, but little choice. Room comfortable but bathroom had noisy plumbing.
Room was very nice Room service breakfast didn't arrive.
Comfortable room, good van service There was no abililty to print out boarding passes. We had to go to another hotel to log in to ba.com so that we could check in on-line.
The convenience and friendly staff. nothing
The best was that the hotel was close to the airport but was not a typical "airport hotel" but an nice and comfortable mansion-type hotel. Restaurant could be better: stiff prices and a very small menue to choose from. Very slow service as well.
Great location, very good staff Only one, the newspaper had to be collected from reception, in other hotels it would be hung on the door if too big to slide under the door
Poor check in
Staff at check in were friendly Room was large and clean Good WiFi Automated check in did not work Long wait at check in Asked to pay for meal and drink up front in the bar. When I pointed out that I might have a second drink and asked for the bill to be left open until end of meal, I was still asked to pay up front. Very expensive for the quality of the hotel
Very clean and comfortable None
Friendly courteous helpful staff, very clean Television signal very poor, bath tap very stiff to turn on - I had to ask for assistance
Proximity to the Football Ground. Helpfullness of bar staff and the great breakfast Air conditioning would be great as the room was very hot.
comfortable clean room, friendly staff, and lovely food. no.
The room was large, clean and well kept and the ensuite was extremely nice with a big bath!
Parking, proximity to Old Trafford, clean modern room None
could not smoke in the romms, and there was noone on the front when i went down to go outside after 11sh, and the door was locked.
Hotel staff were very pleasant, and helpfull.Room and breakfast were excellent.
We thought the hotel location was excellent especially if you are going to old trafford. The facilities were great and our room was beautiful. It was very spacious with a massive bed and a lovely bathroom. Thought it was great value for money too.
very friendly, great room
Restaurant and food top quality.
Pleasant welcome, room very nice. Booked table for restaurant left waiting for half an hour, while other people coming straight down and getting a table straight away.
Relaxed atmosphere in a convenient location for shopping, restauarants and bars. Bathroom clean, but looked a bit old & tired.
Leaving The room.
An excellent breakfast with very pleasant staff. We found the bed a bit uncomfortable.
Great location Our room was quite narrow and had a strange smell, really small faults.
the staff were excellent very friendly and informative, nothing was too much trouble bathroom door did not shut to! room 636
went to the take that concert
That it was close to a place that we wanted to visit
Central location Vert tatty decor, room very small for the price
The room was comfortable, the shower amazing and service / breakfast great. We also really enjoyed the pool / sauna after breakfast and found the check in/ check out times really reasonable so we were not rushing. Also we booked a twin room as a double was not available but then when we came to check in we were given the option of a double which was just what we wanted. The only negative comment I wqould make would be regarding the size of the pool you definitely cant use it for swimming as exercise as it's way too small!!
New rooms, good gym and other facilities, conviniently close to city center, new building, good decoration could be quite noisy in the rooms overlooking the liverpool road. too many cars, pubs and people around. Was hard to get asleep
Easy access to city centre, bars and restaurants. Staff helpful and friendly.
Friendly staff Bar closed at 10:30 on a sunday
the rooms were not at the standard one would expect for the price. The walls were dirty, the curtains were all dust between the grooves when they were closed and the brown throws on the beds were stained. The telephone in the room was broken.
Very close to the Museum of Science where the conference I was attending took place.
Friendly, helpful staff and comfortable rooms. Good choice of breakfast.
Conveniently located near to good restaurants and shops. The 'secure' car park wasn't so secure. Our car, along with several others got the back window smashed. It would have seemed that any estate were the rear parcel shelf was closed was targeted - bear this in mind. The lady on the reception was very helpful and tried to do her best in the circumstances.
The hotel was recommended to me by workmates as the location was close to the event I was attending My room-mate's car being broken into - not a complaint as your staff were so helpful and looked after her while waiting for the Police
Clean and very reasonably priced - close to many attractions.
we did not like seeing members of staff very drunk in the hotel bar still in uniform radiator banging all night
A nice hotel, very well placed for Manchester Piccadilly train station and thecentre of Manchester. Helpful staff (even booked us taxis to and fro as it was freezing!). Very tasty and fresh breakfast too. Slightly dated interior and quite noisy from outside as in room at front of hotel - no noise reduction/double glazing.
We were in a room overlooking the square and although we couldn't turn the radiators off, it was a quiet, very comfortable room. Thank you
Convenience of getting to main attractions and shopping as well as being close to a train station The room did not have the main/big lights, only table lamps. Very squicky floor, I was concerned about making too much noise and disturbing occupants below at night time.
It is well located in city centre and was convenient for the purpose I stayed.I shall again if neeeded None
close to station wallpaper coming off walls / decor needs changing
Good location for a quick overnight stay Noise from main road at front of building and cold let through by lack of double glazing which meant that on a bitterly cold night, even though sleeping next to a radiator I had to raid another bed for extra blankets to get warm. Room lighting a bit poor and decor generally in room and hotel looking a bit shabby. Shower not very controllable. Spacious room though - intended to sleep 3 and would have done so without feeling cramped.
The bed had a great nights sleep and the location was brill The room could have a little bit clean and the staff could have been friendly - not a single smile
Hotel is in a central location therefore very handy. Nothing to report on this.
Its location to city centre Lack of hygiene in bedroom
It was just the perfect location : city centre, trams just at the door step, train station to go the the airport just a few minutes away! The shower was unpractical, getting extremely warm then very cold all the time. The room we were staying in was just next to the boiler room, which made a tremendous noise every 10 min or so, which means we could not open the window at night for some fresh air. But it was ok with the window closed.
Large room, comfortable and quiet enough for a good sleep. Very close to the men arena - easy walking distance Hairdryer in the room didn't work
Booking requests for lower floor were given locality
location was good for access to shops and entertainment. bar was cosy and staff friendly. The pillow on my bed was too deep. When asked for an alternative thereh was no other options.
All staff excellent, hotel overall very comfortable, meals enjoyable ,Lack of air conditioning during a rather warm spell as no windows to open , only one fan to use for cooling down , however it did not spoil a very enjoyable stay
we stayed for two days and the service was excellent.breakfast was exceptional for the price.
Car parking facilities and accessibilty of tram and bus services Lots of uncleared tables at breakfast, which seemed to be due to unstaffing
We wont stay anywhere else now after a bad experience at the Hilton - its the Premier every time for us now! You know exactly what to expect. I think we had to ask for an extra towel - no big deal!
Easy to find Bar/Restraunt staff were vague unattentive and prone to make mistakes, forget to bring orders etc. waiting in queue to be seated for breakfast and left standing there even though they knew you were there. very poor customer service.
The Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent. Nothing. It did exactly what it said on the tin!
Helpful staff. Nice, quiet rooms. Very comfortable bed. None
General condition of room poor why were there 2 staff at desk without uniform management
Free car park Rooms near stairwells / lifts very noisy. bar prices excessive
Helpful Staff Noisy
The breakfast very plentiful. The security system. The many corridors and doors to negotiate to and from our room. Difficult when transporting luggage, and when in a hurry
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The restaurant was very good and we took advantage of the meal deal, A 3 course meal with a drink and breakfast for 21 pounds. The bar closes at 11pm so if you have been out to see a show and want a nightcap have one before you return to the hotel.
Value for money. Consistency of service. Staff service with a smile. Location. Creaky bed, room 620. Had to use spare towel to keep floor dry outside shower door. However this is first time I've had this problem.
Very simplistic and functional Hotel concept. Has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Toilet access could be improved. Prices starting to creep up.
The part I liked best about the stay at the Holiday Inn Express Manchester East was the checking out! The first room we had, the window didn't lock. The second we were moved to stank of sewage, the night receptionist was very obnoctious and the breakfast was greatly lacking in choice and taste.
good to stay in a fresh newly built well decorated building, excellent (continental) breakfast, easy parking. not easy to find, especially in the immediate vicinity, due to the road lay-out and lack of signposting
Quiet Breakfast was very average especially eggs and crossiants
Staff, Parking and ease of booking in. I wa sunable to get an early morning call. The system did not seem to be available through the TV.
bright, clean, and cheerful. Would have liked 2 armchairs.
convenient and no frills approach rather soulless
helpful staff, comfortable atmosphere and room, convenience 4 city centre. no it was a short but pleasant stay
the staff were very helpful there was only 1 lift which wasnt working either
Very easy going - coffee etc available all the time The sofa be wasn't made up in both rooms we had - we had to ask about this, only two bath towelsin each room - we required 3 - when sofa bed was made up we didn't get more pillows so we only had 4 pillows instead of 6. Everything was fine after we asked for all these things
Day receptin staff (Daniel) very helpful. Night staff (don't know name) we found to be an offensive Rag (MU fan)
Staff are excellent, good road links
They've assigned me the wrong room number, resulting in another guest coming over my room in the middle of the night, then the guy from the reception desk waking me up again to double check my booking, then he again asking some extra cash to be delivered due to some mistake in their system. Really cheesy hotel with miserable looks and room condition. It's not near the Airport at all. Expensive. Avoid it if possible.
taxi service very good. very cold in hotel bar.
i liked the reception area and my bathroom was nice the room was to small and looked cheap compared to the pictures i seen on the internet and the window wouldnt open
Food was good in the restaurant Hotel staff, while not rude were not accommodating to travelers. Even though we were just an over-night stay, there were so many instances of unhelpful staff that to list them one would say we were making them up. Additionally, the water pressure was the lowest of any hotel we stayed in while in europe, we could not easily find out how to call the desk, the coffee in the room was old, the elevator was rough and jerky, linen carts were left full of dirty bedding in the main floor hall just out side the elevator all day...
good location and the rooms were quiet... the shower curtain was moldy... definately needs to be replaced... also was unable to get room service one evening and was told they were 'too busy'...
Access to Manchester city by bus. Adequate, well prepared room and comfortable environment. Noise from function room a bit concerning.
I enjoyed the room, great value for money with everything you need. The restaurant is very reasonable also. The distance from the city center is the only downside but only a minor one as taxi's are readily available
Weren't told what time breakfast etc was and where to go. We weren't informed about room service, and staff could have been more helpful.
Beds werent very comfortable. sometimes we got 2 bath towels, other days only 1. sometimes hot choc and biscuits, sometimes not. had to ask after 6 days to change sheets. beds were made TERRIBLY.Looked like they had been made by a 15 year old BOY.
The best thing about our stay was probably the secure carpark and the lovely reception area. Shame about the rest really! I am disabled and asked the chap on the desk to bring my bags up. I also asked for a 2nd key which i had already asked abut when i had previously phoned. After 45 mins my luggage hadnt been brought up so I went down in the lift myself and tried to struggle with my luggage until the chap saw me and hurried to my assistance, apologizing profusely. I asked about the 2nd key again and he said he would bring it up within the next 10 mins. An hour later I still didn't have the key so as I was on my way out I asked again and he gave me an extra one. The bathroom was tiny, very hard for a young disabled lady to manage and the furniture was old and scruffy looking as was the rest of the hotel decor, not fitting in with the modern looking reception.
A cheap stay but with service that exceeds 5 star hotel staff well done, Room smelt a bit musty / smoky (didn't mention it at the time) some guest reviews mention road noise which is noticeable.
Was comfortable and clean, the staff were pleasant. Good location for purpose of trip.
The reception staff were very helpful and welcoming The food was awful, part raw and part burnt
The location. The breakfast service. Bathroom could have been a little cleaner and required some general mainenance.
Receptionist and waiting staff were very helpful. Loo didn't flush very well.
The cleanlines of the rooms and the friendliness of the staff. The Cooked breakfast was a little disappointing. The scrambled egg was very watery, and teh poached eggs were almost cold.
Staff friendliness,Clean rooms.Reasonably central location. Close to main road, although not too much traffic noise.
clean, comfortavle, very good beds for sleep, better prices for breakfast.
Friendly, professional, courteous staff. Lovely spacious room with a comfortable bed. Bathroom had both a bath and shower - both of which worked and the water was hot! No breakfast included in the price so additional cost of breakfast increases the overall price quite a bit. In fact we had breakfast in a motorway service station on the way home and it cost less!
Member of staff was excellent welcoming and helpful Food in the pub was very average
Nothing Awful place. Rude staff, poor food, room had no heating, clientele was primarily chavs. Atrocious visit.
Central location & proximity to our reason for visiting Manchester Room condition only 'fair' - condition of bathroom was poor with mould in the corners and non functioning extraction sytem. Hotel tried to charge extra for the breakfast which was inclusive with the room charges.
Like the ambience of the hotel room was good but not cleaned properly. Had a nice sleep and good value for money Room floor had cigarate boxes and chewing gum waste. TV remote was not working and bath tub had cracks.
The atmosphere was generally peaceful. I like the use of the mirrors on the walls. It helped to create a more 'homey' atmosphere. Had to go outside the building to make any telephone contact via mobile phone.
Friendly and helpfull staff in the restaurant Small rooms and dificult to find.
The carpark had plenty of spaces and the room was spacious The hotel staff had shocking interpersonal skills and the the atmosphere around reception was not good.
Nothing The rooms' first impression was poor, it had an old smell about it, there was mould and milddew around windows. the bathroom was out dated by about 20yrs. I'm just glad I wasn't entertaining anyone at the time as this woulkd have been a very poor show.
not enough bar stewards, there was a wedding going on and it took a while to be served
Facilities No city maps available at the reception desk
Yes the fire alarm going off during the night. This happend twice. On each night of stay
Efficient and pleasant staff, convenient and relatively quiet hotel. Near by parking. Good breakfast. Overall very good value. None
Clean and tidy with good parking facilities opposite the hotel Bedrooms are quite compact and basic. No encouragement to stay in any longer than necessary.
Very clean and comfortable; the staff were all friendly, courteous and competent. Room was stuffy without the window open - air re-circulating machine didn't work very well.
Cleanliness of the room! Internet package for the room was very expensive, about 10 pounds per day, also stream was slow and useless to pay!
24 hour services and reception. simple room but with the facilites you need. good value for money near to city centre noise a problem rooms amplify rather than dampen noise and one was very aware of people coming back late at night
Everything was adequate for our needs that evening. Ther was a lot of noise, all night. A hen party or similar group of girls were obviously close by and spent all night wandering/running along the corridor, laughing, shouting and generally making a lot of noise. A had obviously gone missing, and c and r had locked their room mate out.
Friendly staff, clean rooms Next we will stay at the Ibis nearer the centre.
Clean, comfortable room providing good value for money for a city centre location. None - met all expectations
Location for the University is excellent. Cleanliness of room was good. Quality of cooked breakfast on offer was very poor. Internet is overpriced for a now easily installable and maintainable facility. Should be included or low cost.
Short walk from Piccadilly railway station and town center. Pubs and eating places near by.
there wa no breakfast included in the price
Confortable secure rooms pillows too small
room was a very good standard for the rate charged
nice location breakfast very pricey
The twin rooms had one double bed and a double sofa bed which we where very pleased with ,lounge area was nice and food clean and decent .Would definately stay again, fantastic chinese restaurant other side of roundabout. Typical Novotel expensive, staff clueless, couldnt find my booking, then gave me a card to open car park barrier and it didnt work stuck with 5 cars agitated behind me.The planners have got it totaly wrong with the open air swimming pool in ENGLAND,put a conservatory over it ,what a waste, dont they know we have two seasons here, rain and more rain.
Rooms were clean and staff very accommodating.
Newly renovated room, very comfortable bed I booked 2 rooms, only 1 reserved for me and my brother. Hotel was full, due to major football fixture, and he was offered room at City Centre Novotel. To be fair the staff were very apologetic and paid for taxis, but a real nuisance. Also they charged my brother more than the rate I'd booked at the other hotel (he didn't know what I'd booked) though saying we would not be out of pocket - refund was agreed but we had to pursue the issue
nice bar, comfy bed and relaxing room receptionists not really understanding english
