The lobby where the Thrifty desk is located is crazy loud. I could barely hear the representative when I called the location directly. It completely put me off, but I stuck with it. I had no problem with the car or staff. The walk to the lot for picking up the car is a bit of a pain but I'm not sure how they could work around that since the office is right at the dock. Overall a good experience.

Rental car level was wrong when we picked up, then they lied about the coverage and he added more than asked for. We went to pick up the car and the lady outside then said we have an electric car, but we had a large SUV. Made me prove it in an email after the guy inside said we had a small SUV. It was a joke from start to finish.

The experience was as last time; it was excellent. Staff is always extremely friendly. When I arrived there was no shuttle. They sent one immediately when I called and I didn’t have to wait on the phone for 20 minutes to speak to a person. Just absolutely seamless.

They were closed when my plane arrived (on time as scheduled at 8:30pm). I never got a car. They were unapologetic that not informing me there would be no airport pickup or way to get the car I reserved left me stranded and scrambling to find a rental car last minute. I will Never do business with Dollar again. I suggest removing this Dollar store from your lists so this does not happen to anyone else.

shuttle pick up at airport was poorly signed so I waited a while at the wrong place. Dollar pick up is in a completely different location to all the other rental car companies but they don't tell you. Fortunately, the Thrifty shuttle driver told me. when I picked up the car, they just pointed in the general direction of where it was parked and I had to search for it. I then had to go back to the counter as it had a scratch. there was not much help checking out. at the return, there was only 1 agent helping people pick up and drop off.

It was really easy to get to the Hertz off-airport site via rideshare. The office was easy to find and the price I paid to be able to pick up and drop off at different airports was outstanding! I saved over $400 versus getting the car at the airport. I was in/out in less than 10 min. Super easy, thank you

When I put in Airport code to search for rental. I expected the rental to be at the airport not offsite where I have to take taxi or shared ride to get to that location which add additional cost.

I was expecting my car to be at the airport because that's what I put in the search criteria. When I got there they informed me the Hertz location was actually 20+ miles away so I had to spend an additional $100 in cab fares. The airport Hertz said I could tell them I wanted to return the car at the airport and that they would reimburse my cab expenses. When I got to the other Hertz location I was told I had to return it there and they couldn't adjust my bill because it was pre-paid. The Hertz guy said the car had 5/8th of a tank of gas (which it did) and to return it with the same amount of gas. I was returning the car with 3/4th tank of gas until I got out the rental contract from the glove compartment to put it and keys in drop box (location was closed on Sunday) and I noticed that they indicated it was full when I got it. Rather than have them charge me $9.99/gallon I went ahead and spent another $15 to fill it up. I wrote a note on the paperwork saying I would dispute the rental charge with my credit card company if they don't refund me $15 to my MasterCard.

Worked with a young lady named Heaven out of St Louis airport Budget rental. They had problems getting the transaction to go through so offered an upgrade. Only there 15min or so and left with a very nice vehicle. Always good when a company looks to make customers happy.

The price was very unreasonable. The website price vs at the counter upgrade price was 3x of the original price. Unacceptable. The customer service was great. The counter agent, Heaven, did provide us exceptional customer service and very helpful.

The wait was 2 hours to get the car. It was a nice car at one time but pretty beat up and not that clean.

Better checking in procedures as passengers come in. They should be giving a number of something, said that they don't cut lines and people have to stand in line for hours waiting to check out, and the buddies come around holding the spots and checking in causing hazards. And someone is gonna get hurt. Especially located in saint, Louis Missouri. All the violence is that that that was a very bad experience I had. With budget thank you

At pickup, two employees were having a "robust" conversation as to who was responsible for listening to the vehicle numbers radioed back to them. It was a "passionate" conversation that prevented work from continuing. The conditions of some of the vehicles were a bit concerning. The F-150 clearly needed an alignment which could have been a safety issue. Another customer (disabled vet) was provided a Charger that had been in an accident. He waited around for roughly an half hour for help but no one came. He loaded his wheelchair into the trunk and left.

Cons:

I was not thrilled with the vehicle but that was NOT Alamo's fault. It was the make and model of the pickup. (I would not buy this truck). I think the exit of lot could be marked better but it was not horrible.

Friendly staff. Car never broke down or had any hiccups. That was the extent of the positive parts. It was the most uncomfortable car I’ve ever been in. We were accused of causing over five scratches and paint issues on the car when we dropped it off. Thankfully, we took a video of it when we picked it up to prove that that was not our fault. If we had not taken a video, it would not have mattered that it wasn’t us. We would’ve been charged.

Initially the vehicle was great but the maintenance and oil change light came on.

Cons:

Vehicle maintenance been up to date, I tried to contact roadside assistance and was on hold for a half hour. I got different answers from everyone I talked to.

Cons:

I reserved my car over a month in advance and was called the day before my arrival to Saint Louis airport. They stated they could not pick me up and I had to start a new reservation. The price increased dramatically (from $250 to $550) for the same time period. I called customer service and they could do nothing for me. I was forced to cancel my reservation with them and decided to go to their competitor which was Hertz. I paid $30 less but had somewhat better service.

When I picked up my car it had a terrible body odor. It smelled like a high school locker room, and no matter what I did, the smell persisted—it was deep within the linen of the car seats. Opening windows in an attempt to air the car out did nothing. I bought febreeze and sprayed the upholstery of the entire car TWICE. I even bought fragrance sticks to put in the air vents. Nothing worked, and after having the car for almost a week, the smell was still there when I returned it. Also, when I got the car it wasn’t at a full tank. I was given a rental that only had 1/4 tank of gas in it.

Cons:

Agent at desk wasn't friendly; she was short and impatient when responding to my questions. The interior of the car could have been vacuumed better.

Pros:

They told me to take an Emerald Aisle car, which voided Kayak rate. Paid $200 more than quoted. Beware of STL location. On top of it, they were rude and condescending.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
