Be prepared for insurance fees and long turn in de
Pros: Easy online but at desk was badgered for normal gas and other add-ones, but also for insurance. Desk was crowded and hard to understand due to small space between customers and so many people in a small area.
Cons: Online price is not representative. Turn in was a mess due to them losing their paperwork and general disorganization. Glad I turned in my car a day early before flight.

Pros: Easy and quick drop off
Cons: The counter person tried to bully me into buying the extra insurance. He said that Mexico required this but according to Mexican law, the rental car companies have to include the basic insurance in the base rental price and contract. Even after I told him this (which he was surprised I knew) and that my credit card has worldwide travel coverage (I had a letter of coverage from my credit card company) he still tried to scare me into getting extra insurance. When I finally got the car, the attendant didn't want to write on the assessment sheet that the car had a large scrape on the bumper. He finally made a mark but it was barely a pinpoint mark so I asked him if he would circle it but he refused. After giving me the keys he then flat out asked for a tip which I thought was so rude. Who does that? I will hesitate before renting from Thrifty again even if its less expensive than another rental company. Its just not worth the hassle. Also the car had manual windows and locks and the stereo didn't work. Very disappointing.

Things can improve
Pros: People were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The time to pick up the car was too long. And when we returned the car, it has a little scratch. They charged us 150$. There is not price list for the damages, so you can only trust that the person charging you is fair. I wasn't very happy about that. And they charge twice my credit card! :( what I fixed with my bank afterwards, but still...
