US citizens and permanent residents arriving from the UK must present a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure.

As if the lack of reclining seats was bad enough, the engine noise and vibration was almost unbearable on the flight that was delayed one hour on the Tarmac. The crew was understanding and we did get to Orlando safely...a big plus."

We'd taxied to the runway when takeoff was delayed by an incident ahead of us with another plane, and the flight attendants didn't give anyone a hard time about getting up to go to the restroom while we waited for the situation to be cleared, which I really appreciated."

I flew to NY on American Airlines, and was relatively comfy, but was looking forward to my Delta flight back to Nashville, because I've been more pleased with Delta in the past. Maybe because the plane was smaller than I usually fly on or something (?), I spent the whole flight crammed into the corner, trying not to bump into the lady next to me (and she wasn't taking up too much space, btw - neither of us was overweight and neither of us used the shared armrest, we were both just wedged into our seats. Two very nice AA customer service phone staff attempted to help by booking me on a Lufthansa/United flight out of JFK that same evening. HOWEVER, I got to JFK only to discover I had NOT been ticketed. A lengthy call to AA resulted a a lame apology -“we don’t do that” they claimed, but the had previously! And had booked me, so what the heck was this??? I’m still fuming!"

They didn't seem to be very accommodating or apologetic and I didn't even offer compensation to those who had to stay overnight to wait for the next flight out. C'mon AA. Step it up! I would think that if you cancel a flight, you should help your customers get home the same day. Do whatever you can. I don't think you did whatever you could for most of us on that flight."

Cons: "My flight was scheduled for 5.37pm, but came to the airport thinking that I could get an earlier flight to Chicago and I was there at 1pm, requested for standby status, did not get it because am not platinum of diamond member, asked for $75.00, of course I didn't want to pay and stayed in the airport thinking that my flight would be on time, but it was delayed and delayed and took off at last, saw O'Hare airport but it looks like the pilot could not land it because he did not get the clearance, but as a passenger, I saw the flight going around and around the Ohare area, at least 6 times, then after landing taxing took for ever. I WILL TRY NOT TO FLY IN AA AGAIN."

By the time we got to DC I had JUST missed my connecting flight. It was listed nowhere on the departures screen and I realized I had to take an outdoor bus to the other half of the "c" terminal which was very confusing. I got there and had missed the connecting flight and stand in line for 20 min for someone to tell me that I would be stuck in DC overnight. At this point rain had started pouring and they told me that because my mishap was due to weather they would provide no meal or hotel voucher. Weather was not the issue and I was stuck in DC overnight by myself and not compensated for hotels or meals."

I believe the reasons for the delays were known long before the delays were communicated to passengers. (For example, there was a new delay announcement at 8:00 for a flight scheduled to leave at 7:58). Had we been informed earlier, people could have made alternate plans if they wanted to do so (e.g. Rent a car or reschedule for the next day.)"

There were no updates from the desk leading up to 9:15pm - we were subsequently informed that the crew for the flight was at a different terminal in the airport and would arrive within 40 minutes. There was no update to the display board of the anticipated boarding time or arrival. Limited and poor communication overall. Once ready to board, the desk attendants insisted passengers check their bags because it would be "faster" since it wasn't certain if there would be sufficient overhead space. There was extra overhead space and we ended up having to wait 45 minutes for our luggage (small backpacks) upon arriving at midnight thanks to this desk attendant's short-sighted decision making. I will avoid American Airlines at all costs after this experience."

Pros: "I liked the helpful staff I was able to contact via phone. They were able to get things worked out for me so I could get home easily while trying to change flights multiple times. The flight staff once on board was apologetic and communicative with everyone to keep people calm amongst the delays and cancellation of the original flight."
Cons: "The desk attendant at the airport was unhelpful and was missing for almost two hours while we were delayed. There was no explanation as to why and it wasn't until after a 5.5 hour delay that she was able to tell us there was work being done on the plane. It was a full flight, and many people were confused and had no one to ask questions. The flight was delayed at least six times before it was cancelled and we were booked on another flight. I'm happy we were on a safe plane to fly back, but I'm unhappy with how the situation was handled. Zero communication and ultimately, I could have driven the entire way back faster that day than I could have via American Airlines. I missed a scheduled important appointment with my doctor that I cannot reschedule now. There were two other flights going to Columbus that day that people could have transferred to but as I said, there was no help at the desk to inform anyone what to do so talking on the phone to representative was the best option and that was if you could even get through that day. Delays are delays, and if it's to keep people safe, then that's fine because I'd love to be safe and make it back. However, the way it was handled made it the worst experience I've ever had with any airline. Zero communication, zero help, an entire plane of angry and frustrated people... The only thing that saved the day was another AA attendant at another gate that was able to help me properly as well as most people on my flight. I will most likely be looking at other airlines as options in the future for flying because AA has been on a steady decline lately with my experiences."

The fellow sitting in front of me was in the bulkhead seat, yet reclined his chair all the way leaving me very little space. I really wish flight attendants would ask travelers to be considerate and not recline their seats during there welcome speech. Or even ask if the person being squished is ok. There were no snacks offered. Drinks were not offered till at least an hour into flight. My first flight was canceled. Kayak let me know, American never notified me!"

I was just standing there waiting when a young girl walked by me in a uniform and said rudely and almost annoyed, "do you have a question". I replied that I was waiting on my bag. She then said these are it and I said so my bag has been lost? Without any empathy AT ALL she again, rudely and now most definitely annoyed said Do you have your bag tag? I said yes and she proceeded to walk away to a corner office. I assumed I was to follow. She took my tag, no communication at all from her, I said what are you doing and she replied I have to file a claim. She then proceeded to tell me that Newark Airport was horrible and never travel through there if I know what's good for me. This was extremely unprofessional. I was simply wanting some guidance from her on what to expect etc. I had to ask her what my next steps were. She handed me a flyer and said if I had any questions to call baggage information listed on the pamphlet. I left. The next day at about 1 p.m. I called the number and the update said my bag had left the airport and was out for delivery. Keep in mind that I had to work the next day after the airline losing my bag and had to purchase shower items etc due to them being in my lost bag. Portland jetport and my home address is less than 40 minutes apart, yet my bag did not arrive at my home until 8:30 p.m. and I'm also not confident it would have ever arrived because I called around 7 p.m. and spoke with someone who called the delivery service to ask their ETA. I paid $25 to check my bag and yet it was lost. What did I pay for?! If I can help it, I will NEVER fly United again and I'll be certain to tell everyone I know about my experience with this airline."

It was close and stuffy, very little space to stretch or move about when that was allowed. I'm not tall, but in terms of body mass I'm thicker and wider than many folks, but not obese, and my body thermostat tends to run on the warm side. So the flight was a bit of a physical and mental ordeal for me. The entertainment might have been great had my headphone port been operational. A previous passenger broke off the plug in the hole and the flight staff didn't have a pair of pliers on board to pull it out. Consequently, I was unable to listen to the media in-flight. Also, I couldn't recline my seat because the fussy older woman who sat behind me complained when I did, which made it difficult to snooze."

I got my boarding pass at the end, and he didn't apologize for the inconvenience or anything."

Their mother chose to sit across the aisle for some reason and they were literally screaming the entire way. Perhaps an adult or parental guardian should be required to sit with children under the age of 6? Come on."

However, literally everything beyond a basic ticket was vastly overpriced. "You want to bring more than two tee-shirts and a book? $30." "You want a childs ration of nuts and a soda in flight? $12. You can place them on your 3 inch tray table." And then, as we near the end of an already insufferably uncomfortable flight, we must endure a 20 minute long speech over the PA about the Frontier rewards credit card. I truly appreciate that Frontier Airlines offers competitively unheard of rates for a basic fare. But aside from being allowed to bring a only a change of shirt to Denver for the weekend, sitting in a dingy/cramped plane next to a stranger because I would not pay $42 extra to sit next to a friend, and being forced to listen to the desperate plea of a credit card signup quota, I will next time happily pay the traditional rate to take a flight somewhere where I am treated like I am not a passenger on a Malaysian Airlines flight that has somewhere along the way become lost between the importance of customer satisfaction and competitive prices."
