Dominica has reopened its airport both to nationals and foreign travelers.
Arriving passengers will have to complete an online questionnaire 24 hours before arrival, and have a PCR swab test with a negative result taken up to 24-72 hours before arrival. The PCR result must be uploaded and submitted with the questionnaire and receive an email of approval from the Dominican Ministry of Health. Travelers will not be allowed to board the flight to Dominica without this email.
Travelers arriving from High-Risk country who are intending to participate in the Safe in Nature managed experience, a confirmed booking must be provided at the port of entry. Check DHTA Booking Line for booking information.
A Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) will be taken on arrival. If the RDT is negative, then the traveler must self-isolate in a government operated or government certified facility for five days before having a further PCR test. If the RDT is positive, then, depending on travelers country of origin, a further PCR swab test will be carried out. This will be at the traveler's expense.
Upon clearance from the port, travelers arriving from Low-Risk countries will be monitored at their place of residence for 7 days. Travelers must submit to scheduled and unscheduled checks by medical professionals.
Upon clearance from the port, travelers arriving from Medium-Risk countries will be monitored at their place of residence for 14 days. Optional, a PCR test can be done on day 5 after arrival, if the result is negative, there will no further monitoring at their place of residence. Travelers must submit to scheduled and unscheduled checks by medical professionals.
Upon clearance from the port, travelers arriving from High-Risk countries will be subject to a mandatory 5-day quarantine at a government operated facility or manage experience at a Safe in Nature certified property. A PCR test will be administered on day 5 after arrival, if the result is negative travelers will be deemed medically cleared.
Arriving travelers who test positive will be subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine in a Government facility, or in a certified hotel or guest house.

The last two times I have flown, the flight has been delayed by at least an hour and a half and there has been something wrong with the sound to the movies. This flight my movie was staticky and had to jiggle my headphones for it to work although sometimes it still happened. My seat this last flight also was broken and I was unable to put my seat back which caused some back discomfort."

The terminal was dirty, crowded, and everything was shutting down even though people we still looking for food, beverages, Etc (so passengers make sure you are fed / prepared if you’re flying late out of Newark). Cons: "Booked this flight to get a ride home, and in time for dinner with family. Flight was delayed 50 min. because of a delay in the arrival of the plane (not weather). During boarding process they were allowing people to get up and move around before takeoff, delaying over another 10min. When we finally arrived at 9:10 to the gate, another plane was at the gate and we did not get into the gate until 9:25. Thus, by the time the flight arrived I needed to get other transportation, cost me $25 and additional 30min. waiting for ride. This resulted in getting me home almost 2 hours late. Additional feedback: I book an aisle seat because I like being able to lift the arm on the outside, not available on this flight. I don't recall the plug for the headphones being down so far in the arm rest, thus struggled to find the plug."

The boarding crew in the terminal was rude and very short with everyone. i had to go up multiple times to ask about my seating assignment and was ignored and then waved away multiple times. And then as boarding began I was given a seat saying they "thought i was on standby" but i never was. i was given a seat in the last row with two other people who had infants on their laps so it was a very tight fit."

The seat was ok, but I found the pillows to be very small and flat. I needed multiple pillows. The head rest was not adjustable, so I also found this to be uncomfortable. Usually when I fly AA, the headrest is adjustable. My final dislike was that the beverage selection was limited. I'm quite sure there was plenty of alcohol, but what about those customers who do not drink alcoholic beverages? I asked for hot chocolate, there was none. I asked for hot tea with honey, there wasn't any. So all in all my flight was okay, but that is solely because of the flight attendant and pilot. They did their jobs and they did an excellent job."

The pat-down I received was more like a sexual assault and I didn't even get a happy ending. We made it to RDU, so the exercise was a success, but it was a huge hassle."

I didn't like that my flight time was changed more than 15 times with no reason why until boarding time. I didn't like the fact that I did not get a seat assignment until boarding the plane. I didn't like the fact that they couldn't manage to scramble another plane and crew, but instead forced us to wait over four hours for one that was stuck somewhere else in the country."
Cons: "Most everything was excellent, however my 2 year old daughter's in seat entertainment screen wasn't working. It was a full flight and there was no option to change seats. I brought it to the flight attendants attention however she wasn't able to reset it. A 7-hour flight from NY to Zurich travelling with small children without the movies was not as pleasant as it could have been."

Wrong information was given to many passengers as far as checking in baggage and being sent to several line ques for the agent to tell me in the end that I was told the information incorrectly since the beginning. I therefore was unable to board my flight on time, got switched to a new flight and the new flight was delayed for 3.5 hours."

Also, we had to sit on the tarmac after landing for 30 min due to gate traffic. A few minor inconveniences, but overall tolerable."

Cons: "We had seats at first where there was what looked like bubble gum bits stuck on one of the food trays. The flight was clearly not cleaned although it landed 2+ hours before the departure. We had to ask for a wet tissue and clean it up. That was of no use too as it wouldn't scrub off. My wife was feeling under the weather and so we asked for a blanket. The blanket was hardly a blanket and more like a towel. We then luckily could switch seats as there were 2 vacant. But, the air conditioner was leaking water in the seat to our left. The crew was callous and just stuck the passenger with some napkins saying it does that. I don't fly Delta a lot and my experience in this trip isn't inspiring much confidence."

It is nice that you can play movies for free over WiFi on your phone or tablet (since the in-seat system simply didn't work...), but, bizarrely, the WiFi movie selection was different from (and substantially smaller than) the seat movie selection. What's that about? And the WiFi movie scheme is way more painful than it needs to be, requiring you "check out" movies using your web browser, then switch to a separate app to actually watch the movies. Clearly the product of a company mindset whose ONLY concern is "can we check some box", with absolutely no interest in "how can we delight our customers?""
Cons: "So we get the same entertainment system all these flights use: some ghastly totally non-optimized Linux setup that was rebooted three times during the flight, took 20 minutes for each reboot, and never worked correctly after any of the reboots. (The only movie my system would ever play was the very first one, and none of the on-screen controls worked. The seat next door could choose multiple movies, but each movie froze after 40 minutes). The amazing thing is: why don't they just install a damn iPad mini or Android equivalent in the back of each seat? Would be lighter than what they have today and would work FAR better. You'd need some co-ordinating/provisioning software to provide for OTA announcements and movie updates, but basically it's not that hard... At the very least, hire a Linux-head to optimize your startup scripts! It's just sad to see this 20 minute startup process (all dumped on the screen) with its constant repetition of time-wasting startup steps that just generate errors on this plane's particular hardware setup..."
