Pros: im a hertz gold club member, and booked with Hertz at lest 12-15 trips. i've never had an issue until this rental.
Cons: the rental pickup location didn't actually have an operating Hertz lot anymore. i had to fight rush hour traffic to get there, only to find this was the case. Customer service was a challenge at first. I had to speak to 3 different people to finally get to the online rentals rep. she honored my rate, but i ad to drive an extra hour out of my way to pickup the car. I was given a Prius, when I ordered a midsize vehicle. i assume this was how the airport location made up for the difference in the daily rate. That car was too small for me.

Pros: The young lady who waited on us at both on pickup and return was very friendly and helpful. She was so busy yet still so pleasant. We were given a discount that we didn't even know we were eligible for. The car got very good gas mileage and we would definitely use them again.
Cons: It was very busy and the young lady was having to answer the phones and wait on all the people. We felt she is very overworked and deserves some sort of reward. However; she never seemed overwhelmed or lost control of any of the customers. It was a very good experience for my husband and I. We just felt very sorry for her.

Worst car rental experience EVER
Pros: Nissan Pathfinder was a comfortable SUV
Cons: We arrived to pickup our prepaid fullsize car and they had none available. Told us we could go to another location 30 miles away to pick one up or wait for it to be delivered to the location we were at. We had time for neither. We requested a free upgrade given they had our money and no car. That was denied by the agent on site and Manager over the phone. We ended up paying for an up grade but then it took another 30 minutes to find one that was clean. They were going to give us one that a customer had just returned that had a sensor that kept coming on and then one that had a nail in the tire. Rude people over the phone and at the counter. Over an hour later we left. When we returned the car a week later. They were closed at 11:30. Suppose to be open until noon. We were told over the phone by customer service that again we could take the car to another location to drop off or leave the car and US bring the keys back on Monday. We said no to both and they said they would send someone to open the office. We waited over 30 minutes then left. We left the car on the lot and have the keys since there is no drop box. And I will fight this battle Monday. NEVER AGAIN will we rent from HERTZ!
Pros: The customer service was by far the best I've ever had!

Pros: The cars gas mileage was good and the cost of the rental wasn't bad for 5 days
Cons: The car was not clean, there was a film of dirt on the windshield on the inside, and the dashboard was dirty. The rental was from Tuesday to Sunday. The car was to be returned by 1:30 on Sun. Went to return the car, the office was closed. Then was to be closed on Monday due to holiday. Had to leave the car in the parking lot being that I had to return home. They do not have drop boxes so now my sister will have to take the keys to them on Tuesday.

Cons: I didn't get to pick up the car because the location was closed. I had to go to a Budget location and rent a car there.
Cons: All was good except for the cleanliness of the inside windows. The fron window, rear view mirror and passenger side window were dirty. Looked like they had been sprayed with something and not wiped off. Almost impossible to see out side window.

Cons: The problem was with Kayak not Avis. I made my flight reservations from Newark to Memphis using Kayak for an American Airlines flight. I then made a reservation to rent a car right after I made the airline reservation. Kayak found a deal for $70 was great. When I got to the airline rental counter in Memphis airport I was informed that my reservation was at an Avis 10 miles away but my return destination was the memphis airport. If I wanted a car at the airport it would be $360 for two days. I advised them I booked through Kayak and they said this happened all the time but they could not change the price. I did not accept the car or sign a contract yet Avis now has a pending charge on my credit card for $360. I have filed a complaint with Avis and they said it should clear in 24-48 hours, well it hasn't. I blame this on Kayak and I have serious reservations about using your service again.
Save yourself a headache - Do not rent from budget
Cons: They gave away my reservation and couldn't find a replacement until and hour later and when they finally did they wouldn't take any form of payment except credit card and turned us away after wasting all our time. The customer service representative at the front desk was rude and ignored us half the time we were there.
