Before beginning your search for a rental vehicle in Kihei, consider the number of passengers. Long-distance travelers who often hire a car may save more than purchasing a vehicle. However, if you are traveling with more than two people, the best option is to hire a minivan. Consider your holiday itinerary while selecting a rental vehicle. If you prefer to visit isolated sections of the country that are inaccessible by air, rail, or automobile, the best choice is to rent a midsize SUV.
Since high-tech video cameras monitor several Kihei highways, drivers are advised to drive cautiously and maintain a consistent speed. Remember that the speed limits in different parts of Kihei might vary greatly from one another. Inside of most cities, the speed limit is set at 50 mph, however, it drops to 40 mph as you leave the city borders.
You will not need to stress about finding a parking spot since Kihei has a number of different public parking options, such as garages and lots. There are plenty of parking spots available. You should not be concerned about it if you believe that you will eventually be able to fit everything into your storage unit. There are a number of parking garages and lots in the neighborhood, including public beach parking and parking at Waipuilani Park, among other options. Access to an additional parking lot may be gained from an adjacent property. The parking garage is often monitored and is considered to have a reasonable level of safety; in addition, it provides some of the most reasonable and cost-effective parking rates that can be found anywhere.

Pros:
This being our first trip to Maui, I was unfamiliar with the island. When I made the reservation, I didn't realize the reservation was for Kihei. When we got to the Kahalui location near the airport, we learned of mistake. But they worked quickly to find something local and get us on our way. While we walked to the car for the inspection, we had a downpour. The agent hopped into the car with us while he reviewed the terms, etc. We had a good laugh and were on our way!2.0 Poor

Cons:
Not only did Kayak arrange the Enterprise location 20 miles AWAY from the airport, but the Enterprise at the airport would not even honor the price given in the Kayak reservation. It's the same freaking company! And when the guy tried to find the same kind of car for us at the airport, he hid from us the fact that the price would be twice as much. He just said "you'll just have to pay airport fees and taxes, if that's okay." I said "yeah sure." and then we find out the price is ridiculous.10.0 Wonderful

Attendant at pick up was a little gruff but we did get there right at opening. The attendant at drop off couldn’t have been more expensive pleasant.10.0 Wonderful

Car shortage on the island is driving the prices so high that the car costs more than the hotel but hopefully that will improve when more cars become available.2.0 Poor

Pros:
Giving the car back and realizing we would never use them again.Cons:
They forced us to buy insurance even after I explained we didn't need it or want it. The excuse was "well, this is the only way to get you the upgrade." We didn't want an upgrade, only the car we had booked. We waited for almost an hour to pick up our car and there only 5 people in front of us. When we returned the car, Budget's line was over 3.5 hours long and counting. If you value your vacation time and money, don't rent from here. One location in Kīhei
