Pros: The price and the ease of dropoff.
Cons: The pickup. The Altima that they brought up looked great but they could not find it in their system. Took over 30 minutes of them trying to figure it out before they gave up and brought up an Nissan Rogue SUV which I didn't order but took so I could get out of there. I did end up liking the Rogue but the experience at the counter was horrible

Cons: When I went to pick up my rental it took 90 minutes just to get the paperwork done for the rental. Then we decided to add a day to our trip and they wouldn't honor our rate and tried to charge is for a weekly rate that was $200 more then our original bill. Management came to speak with us and was not helpful in anyway. We eventually stood there so long trying to figure it out that we just cancelled our whole rental and went with someone else.

Had to wait over an hour for our vehicle
Pros: The vehicle was fine, but the fact that Hertz wasted an hour of my precious vacation time was inexcusable.
Cons: When we arrived to pick up our vehicle we had to wait over an hour until one was available. There were about 10 people in front of us also waiting for vehicles. We were not early - we arrived at the time we reserved (slightly later, in fact). As a result of this, we were late to our intended destination.

CLE = BKL. NOT!
Pros: I used the Kayak interface to book my flight and rental car, but mistakenly did them as separate transactions. The result was i flew into Cleveland Hopkins airport and my rental car was at Cleveland Burke Lakefront airport. The Hertz counter personnel could not do anything to fix my reservation and instead told me to call the 800 number on a Hertz advertisement card they politely handed me. I called the number and was told Hertz could not give me the earlier rate and was then quoted a new rate which was over twice as expensive as the booked rate. This was all occurring at midnight so i was getting a little nervous. I immediately went to my Avis app on my phone and was quoted a better rate for a better vehicle. I asked the Hertz counter personnel if they would match that offer and they said they couldn't. I walked three counters over and rented from Avis.
Cons: Hertz was shamelessly taking advantage of my plight, not even willing to salvage the reservation when given a competitor's quote they could have easily matched and still made more than my booked rate.
