Reserved a car for a day. Showed up and waited in a line for 1.5 hours and was told sorry no car available. Picked a car I reserved months in advance and was given keys and a slip. Walk 5 min to get it and it’s not the same car at all. Walk all the way back and am told they will have a manager find it. Proceed to wait for another 15 min and then get given a car that obviously was not cleaned and was only 50% charged. The interior had food crumbs all over and the back seat had some sort of liquid spilled all over it. Never again will I use hertz.Reviewed Apr 9 2023

Although I reserved a vehicle ahead of time, I had to stand in line for over 45 minutes to get to the rental desk that had only 3 people working. The woman that eventually helped me was wonderful but I was told to “go to zone 1, jump in any car there & drive away”. When I went to zone 1, there were only 2 electric vehicles there when I specifically said I wanted gas. I wandered around for a while to find someone that worked there & had to wait for a gas vehicle to be cleaned & brought around. I paid for an suv & got a Nissan Altima. Honestly, it was a fun, good little car but not what I wanted. We had our road trip & when I was returning the vehicle, I got rear ended by someone at a traffic light that fled the scene. I called & made a damage report right away. When I returned the vehicle, I wanted to talk to someone from hertz about the damage and there was literally NO ONE working at the return. I took photos of the vehicle (front & back) & left it there. I then went back to the rental desk because I felt like I should talk to a human about it being returned with damage & there were only 2 people working there with a bunch of new renters lined up waiting. I didn’t wait even longer to talk to someone since I had already reported it to the damage person on the phone. The lack of people working is ridiculous.Reviewed Apr 5 2023

I didn’t like the fact that no one walked the car with me once I turned it in. I asked to be walked and they said it wasn’t needed. I took a picture of the car so I can prove it was returned in the same condition.Reviewed Jan 19 2023

I called Hertz to see if I could change the drop off location to Sky Harbor Airport Phoenix. The rep I talked to said yes with no change in the charges. Upon returning the car to the airport location I was hit with an additional $545 and the terms of the rental were completely changed. They said there was no record of my call to change. Hertz is so far unwilling to do anything and says that I am on the hook for the charges. I have escalated this in Hertz and will protest the charges via my credit card. Very easy pick up experience on a Tuesday evening. You do have take a shuttle off airport to the main rental center, but there wasn't a line at all at the desk. Returning was also a breeze, no issues with the vehicle at allReviewed Nov 7 2022

The counter employees were not very nice. 4 people behind the counter. One customer being helped. No line. We waited at the entrance. No one acknowledged us so we walked up to a window. Employee snapped at us and told us to wait! Not a good start!!!!!Reviewed Nov 1 2022

Pick-up was a mess because only two agents were available to assist an extremely long line. We also found our agent to be unhelpful when it came to clarifying insurance options. The email I got after initially booking the car made it clear that drop-off would be at 12 pm, which is why we dropped off the car between 11 and 12 on Oct 19. So why would I be charged for additional hours? I'm just going off the overview Hertz sent. The CSR I just spoke with was as helpful as she could be, but I'm stuck on why Hertz would state a 12 pm drop-off time if the car is actually due at the same time it was picked up.Reviewed Oct 27 2022

I booked a small SUV at Las Vegas Airport through hertz because we were going to be traveling national parks in southern Utah. After booking the flights and car I had a change of plans and I (the primary driver) was going to be a day later than the rest of my group due to other obligations. So I called hertz to attempt to add a second driver or transfer the reservation. They told me that I could not transfer the reservation or add a second driver to pick up the vehicle and I would have to cancel the reservation and have the second driver rebook it. They also attempted to assess a cancelation fee even though we were still planning on renting the same vehicle for the same duration. Eventually they did wave the cancellation fee. But because they told us they couldn’t transfer the reservation or add a second driver to the first reservation we ended up cancelling the second reservation and when we attempted to rebook the exact same reservation they attempted to to charge us 40% more. Hertz then told us after all of these cancelations and rebooking that they could have just transferred it. At this point in time we decided to book our car rental through another provider The hertz customer representative was very unprofessional. She was hard to understand. She was inconsistent in what she was telling us. She refused to escalate our situation to her manager despite us asking her not once but three different times. She gave us a bogus number to follow up with her supervisor. We wanted to rent through hertz we never wanted to cancel our reservation just have a different person put on the reservation. We wanted the vehicle for the same number of days on the same dates and somehow they couldn’t accommodate us. Then they tried to rip us off not once but twice when they tried to asses a cancelation fee for a cancelation that we were later told didn’t need to happen. And secondly they tried to rip us off when We went to rebook the same exact car on the same exact days for the same exact time period and they attempted to charge us 40% more. This attempted rental with hertz was nothing more than a disaster and they are nothing more than a sham company with poor customer service.Reviewed Oct 23 2022

Many cars on the lots had mechanical problems. Only one car available with lots of body damage and scratches. The exit gate lady was very cold and just handed me a form to record every damage and it took me quit a while still missed a lot! Don’t feel like dealing with Hertz, seemed like a used car dealer.Reviewed Oct 11 2022
