Pros: The Nissan Juke was a great little car -- sufficient for our needs and with plenty of pep.
Cons: Drop-off fees, taxes, etc raised the price of rental well beyond what we hoped to pay.

Beware when booking Herttz in San Antonio
Cons: When booking, I indicated I wanted the airport location. When I went to get the car, they told me it was a different location 5 miles away. So, I had to take a cab to get there. When I got there, they told me I was late (by 20 minutes!) and they gave the last car away to someone else. Took an hour and much frustration before they finally came up with a replacement option. Not a good way to start a vacation!

Overcharged for gas.
Pros: Clean nice car, and very quick rental
Cons: The sign says that if you don't fill up your tank, it's $9.99. The man at the counter said I could prepay for gas, fill up along the way, or I'd be charged $9.99. Neither the man at the counter NOR the sign at the Hertz said it was $9.99 A GALLON. I certainly would've filled up had I known I would be charged over $27 for gas. I would like a refund. Furthermore, I was quoted over $90 at the counter, but went on Kayak on my phone and got a $30 discount. That's crazy, and Hertz counter should offer the same deal. The GPS in the car was terrible. I was not told that there are at least 3 different shuttles to different rental car areas, which caused me to get on the wrong one and severely delay my pickup.

Pros: They had free water during my half hour wait
Cons: For starters, the location was difficult to find and was without additional parking for the person who dropped me off to pick up the vehicle. I get that the majority of people renting from this location are coming in from flights, but one parking spot isn't too much to expect. Next, when checking out the staff behind the counter were not particularly helpful and challenging after declining additional coverage or prepaying for the gas. Then, after that it was a 25 minute wait for the car to be pulled up. There was no one in front of me. After the first 10minutes, someone would come out and say "your car is on the way, it'll be here in 5 minutes..." That happened 3 times... finally when our Tahoe came around, no one inspected it with us to verify previous damage or the gas tank, or even had me sign a confirmation that I had received the vehicle. We just went around a took pictures of the current dents and scratches incase they decided to claim we caused them. The car was all right, but not particularly clean and had tons of greasy hand prints on the inside windows. When returning the car, I pulled into a return lane, all of which were full of vacant vehicles. There was no signage with instructions on what to do and no attendant was readily available. I asked someone who looked like an employee what I needed to do to return the vehicle. She directed me to the inside counter where I waited (as the only customer) for 5 minutes as 3 men behind the counter had a non-work related conversation. One of them did ask me what I needed, but didn't respond after I answered that I just needed to return the car. Finally another person came to the counter and told me I needed to give the keys to the attendant outside who would give me a receipt. When I returned outside, I waited again until the same woman from before pulled up in one of the cars. I asked her where I needed to go to get my receipt. She told me to just leave the keys in the car and it would be emailed to me. Why couldn't she have just said this before? Overall, this was the most difficult and unprofessional experience I have had renting a car. The Tahoe was fine and served its purpose for the weekend, but this hertz location needs to reevaluate some things...

Cons: When I requested the car, I requested from the San Antonio airport & didn't realize the pickup was offsite. They were closed when the 'boys' arrived and they had to rent a car at the airport. I will have to pay closer attention to the location in the future.

Canceling was a hassle
Pros: Booked at wrong place. We're not helpful in changing or canceling. Gave me wrong info on canceling found out the person helping me did tell me there was a charge. Booked elsewhere

Rude at drop off
Cons: When I dropped the car off there was a line. A car zig zagged through parked cars and cones to get up front. The woman who was working joked with the two that did the reckless act. I asked her what was the procedure and can she come and check out me and an older gentleman out since we were waiting for sometime. She was rude and told me that she is the only one working. She also said i could help if I wantef too.

Great customer service!
Pros: I had a couple of reservations for our trip. I accidentally booked the cars from a different location near but on the airport premises, the lady at the airport location was very helpful to get us on our way. The cars were accepatable could be cleaner, but they were good for the price. We would definitely rent from them again.

Cons: Vehicle was not ready at pickup date and time. Oil change was done at the last minute. We had a blowout of a tire. Dept of Public Safety officers helped change tire. They told us that the tires on the vehicle were in poor condition. We were in a remote area and had a hard time finding a tire shop. When we finally found one, the repairman told us that the tires were in poor condition and that our lives were in danger by continuing on our trip.We had no choice but to drive home in that vehicle.

Smell in car
Cons: I rented a compact car and throughout the 3 days I rented the car it had a terrible odor. If I did not have the windows down I could barely stand to drive the car. Good thing I was in south Texas.

Pros: Ease of booking car
Cons: Car was scratched, dented, did not work properly. Rental representative lied about the amount of gas at pick up. I did not rent the car because it was so bad.

San Antonio location near airport NOT served by He
Pros: I needed to return the car before this Hertz office opened, and the agent agreed to remove the $25 return-fee that allowed me to return the car to the main airport location (open 24 hours).
Cons: Despite making a reservation at an off-site airport location in San Antonio, the only Hertz shuttle bus took me to the "other" off-site airport location. Upon being notified of being in the wrong location (after waiting in a 40-minute line), I asked if I boarded the wrong Hertz shuttle, and was notified the other location had NO shuttle, and required a $15 taxi ride from the airport. This 2nd location offered no cab fare reimbursement. And despite the described 90+ minute delay in arriving at the correct Hertz location, my reserved car was NOT ready, I had to wait an additional 15min while it was detailed. Total time from exiting Terminal to acquiring my car: 2.5 hours!

Easiest drop off ever
Pros: Got out of the car, left the keys in it and walk away. They charged it to the acct I used for the pickup. Best part of the whole process.

Pros: It was not clear from the beginning that the site chosen was not at the airport. Also, the reservation promised a 4 minute shuttle ride. It was two hors from the time I made it to the hertz shuttle bus and the time I eventually got my car. The car was not clean and smelled of smoke.
Cons: All of the above are simply unacceptable. There was one person that was helpful in this disaster. It was the person at the desk in the office on San Pedro who actually got me my car. I've asked my admin asst not to book with hertz in future trips to San Antonio.

Lack of personnel to give me a receipt
Pros: The driver to the airport was sympathetic
Cons: There was not a person to take the car and give me a receipt. I needed a receipt so had to go to the office. It was filled with people and only two employees. I had to get to the airport so could not do it. A total mess.

Hertz turned us away
Cons: We took the shuttle bus to the hertz place. the wait was 20 minutes. we showed the lady our reservation. she said she could not open it and it must have been canceled an she turned us away. We took the bus back to the airport. then rented Alamo for a lot more since no other agency was around. Turned out the hertz agency was a different location. But how would e know that? and how come hertz could not tell us that simple fact. Worst experience of our lives and cost us tim and money...about $150 more....

Hertz Rental-Ford Excursion
Pros: It was fast and easy to reserve. Customer Service was excellent! The car was clean and suited our needs. They charge you after the rental is returned.
Cons: There was a significant wait for our vehicle to be ready. I didn't like the price of the rental but I booked it last minute so beggars can be choosers. It was difficult to find the entrance. There is an additional $250 hold on your card.

Hertz did not have a car for us even though I had
Cons: My wife and I took a cab that cost me $45 to the hertz rental lot near the airport in San Antonio . When we arrived the agent at Hertz told us that he did not have a rental car for us even though I had a reservation and confirmation from Hertz . I had spent $45 on a cab fare coming out only to find out after I got there that I would not have a car . I asked why they could not have called me or emailed me to let me know before I spent all the money on the cab ride there and then I had to pay more money for a cab ride to another rental agency . He just told me that was Hertz's policy and that I could wait at that location for another want to come in but he could not guarantee that would happen . I will never use Hertz again . Spent more money on the cab ride there than I would have on the rental car .

Pros: Renting the car went very smooth. First I confirmed the car online the type of car, where we'll pick it up & drop off. The price, and any other things I wanted. This was easy fairly fast I got a confirmation #. I went picked up the car was great. Went easy, fairly fast & I was on my way. I had to extend the rental for a day that was easy & dropping it off was also easy. So the whole experience was very good. I would rent a car this way again.
Cons: Don't have any big complaint the only thing I didn't like was trying to find the place was confusing. They have a big sign that says "return rentals" yet it is also where you go in the office to rent the cars. We drove around for 10-15 min when he finally asked someone & we found out it was the entrance too.

San Antonio Airport Hertz closed noon Saturdays
Cons: The Hertz site was closed by the time our flight arrived noon Saturday. Told it would be open when we arrived - all day supposedly. What a mess!!

Cons: When we arrived at the San Antonio airport, I was told our rental was not at the airport but at another site. My fault for missing that detail. The Hertz agent at the airport said it would cost 4x more to rent at the airport. We decided to take a taxi to the site. Much to our surprise, the agent gave us an outdated map with address of the location. They had moved so we went to the wrong address and finally called to get the right address $40 later. Disappointing way to start our vacation. We were hit with extra costs that were not explained clearly. Not a good deal. Don't plan to go with Hertz again!

Cons: The staff at the Love Field Hertz branch are rude and disrespectful. I generally rent from Enterprise, but went with cheaper price this time. You get what you pay for. Needless to say I am dissapointed with the quality of their customer service.
