Robyn, Mar 2023 - The Barnett
It’s a disguised budget hotel. Reasonably priced with the BAREST room. Lobby and roof are fun and aesthetic. Rooms have a black toilet, two thin loose sheets sandwiching a duvet insert, concrete floors (no rugs or carpet). This is good for a young group who don’t really care but if you’re looking for quality sleep, this isn’t it.

Pros (+) I really enjoyed the rooftop pool area and getting coffee in the great coffee shop downstairs. The hotel had a bit of a funky vibe but still a little luxurious. I enjoyed the atmosphere and it really seems they pay attention to what people are looking for on vacation
Cons (-) Very minor. But lighting was very poor in hallways elevators and in the room and could give a dingy feeling sometimes

Pros (+) Ace is well designed with NoLa touches throughout. it is a very happening place in NoLa, with a full event calendar. We went to a dance party on Friday at Ace and the next afternoon there was a dance competition. Stumptown coffee is adjacent to the hotel so great coffee guaranteed. Located in the Warehouse district , 10 min walk to French Quarter and around the corner from the St. Charles street c...
Cons (-) it is can get busy and crowded so if you are looking for something quit and private, Ace is probably not for you. Charge for water. Mattress was not very comfortable.

Pros (+) My husband and I stayed at the Ace for three nights in July. We had read some reviews about poor AC, so I was concerned that we may not have the most comfortable room. I was wrong. Our room was great and COLD (in the best way). Check in was way and pleasant. The coffee shop and restaurants connected to the hotel, as well as the shops like Freda, were great. The lobby is a popular hangout and had a...
Cons (-) Wish they offered room service.

Pros (+) I enjoy the general aesthetic and vibe of Ace hotels, and I've always liked the playful elements they throw in that really add to the overall experience.
Cons (-) The room we were in was kind of terrible. Light switches were located in inconvenient and counterintuitive places, the bed was entirely too big for the room, the doors kept sticking (the room door had to be yanked open and slammed shut, repeatedly, which i'm sure our neighbors loved; the bathroom door closed just fine, but required patience and strategy to open), and the location of the bed meant ...

Pros (+) Pool, bar, restaurant, minibar, room service and location were great.
Cons (-) Our flight arrived early, around 1:00 so we checked in with the front desk, knowing our room probly wouldn't be ready. They checked us in, stowed our bags and got our number and said they would call when our room was ready. By 4:15 when we hadn't heard anything we headed back to see what was up. The front desk had just forgotten to call us...so went ahead and told us our room was ready and gave us...

Gareth, May 2016 - The Barnett
Pros (+) I used to live down the street. The Hotel is in a great location, close to lots of great restaurants, and close to many businesses. I was excited to stay here as they have live music every night, a good restaurant, and lots of young people hanging out.
Cons (-) I believe the Hotel went way too far when trying to be 'hip'. 1. Upon check in the front desk attendant was not polite, sighed ignored my request twice when I asked for the corporate rate then made me wait 5+ minutes while she waited to ask her manager (I told her to ask him when he was free and get back to me - this never happened). 2. The hotel room AC only goes down to 68F which felt much more ...
