Everyone was very professional, friendly, and hard working. No high pressure sales or upgrade pitches. They got me in and out quickly during both the check in and check out processes. I very much appreciated their young, hard working crew. They seemed to enjoy doing their jobs, and had a great camaraderie that spilled over into their customer service. I am really impressed with the service, their vehicles, and a really smooth process. They moved fast. The shuttle was ready and moved quickly to and from the airport terminal. I am close to being a road warrior and familiar with rental car companies. Most budget conscious car rental companies tend to be a mess and sneaky as hell. The person at the counter will naturally try to upsell you. That is their job because it creates profit for their business model. Don’t be upset about that. Learn the trade. Understand that if you have insurance coverage (legit and verifiable) you can decline their policies. If they offer an upgraded vehicle, decline it or be willing to pay for the nicer/bigger vehicle. I was treated with respect and transparency. I will return without hesitation. The only caveat is the location is off the airport campus and that requires transferring to a second shuttle. Not difficult, and not that much longer. Just call ahead for instructions and study them to avoid missteps. They will email you the day before you pickup and before returning your vehicle with clear instructions! I don’t see that much at all from other companies; much less from the large corporate franchises. Midway does a lot of things right. Give them a chance.Reviewed Jun 28 2024

I will never purchase a rental car through Kayak or with Midway again. Kayak offered a $50 rental (insurance included) through Midway for the day for a Nissan Versa. When I arrived at Midway I had to pay for additional insurance because the insurance purchased with Kayak for the rental didn’t cover Midway’s cars. Midway doesn’t charge for the first 150 miles but after that it’s $.50 per mile. I paid $200 for a one day rental. Nickel and dimed the entire process. I will never rent from either companies again. I have never waited so long to pick up a car with a reservation already made. The location is either under staffed or they are just so slow. One customer representative specifically and aggressively trying to get costumers to pay more, to upgrade to expensive cars, pay for fast lane, add insurance. Getting to the Midway rental office from the airport is a bit confusing and poorly marked/explained. You take an airport bus from the arrivals to a parking lot down road from the airport, and then the rental car companies routinely come by and use vans/large SUVs to bring people from that parking lot to their specific rental location. The check out line was long and slow (about 35-40 mins of waiting), but once I got to counter it was smooth and it took 5-10 minutes to get the paperwork filled out. most car rental places at LAX pick you up directly. midway makes you take this bus, operated by the airport, which stops at every terminal and then brings you to a random area which then you get off and then finally head to the rental location. once there, they have no bathroom, and the line moves super slowly. better to spend another $50 per day to avoid this hassle.Reviewed Apr 4 2024
