Pros: Nice car...after was replaced with one without issues

Beware of up-selling at pick-up!
Pros: There are many good qualities about Sixt but I was completely unprepared for the clever way the representative tried to get me to pay hundreds of dollars more.
Cons: Instead of asking if I wanted insurance, she asked which kind of insurance I was planning to get, full or partial. Then, she tried to talk me out of the minivan I had reserved for my family of 6, saying that people prefer large SUVs and started reading off the ones they had available. I found this annoying since they cost more and I knew what I had ordered. Everything else about our Sixt rental was fine.

Great experience overall
Pros: They were low priced and convenient to get to. Everyone was courteous and attentive. Smoothly operated. Drop off was fast! Shuttle was there when needed.
Cons: They only had a Mercedes available for us and I didn't like the $500 deposit for that upgrade. It made me worry about something happening to the car and losing my deposit.

Pros: speed of the process, no lines. texted me to tell me where to go how to track the shuttle ect. Texted on last day with location address made things very easy to use. Car was great!
Cons: Asked to upgrade to escalade and they said one was available then came back and said it wasnt available and then the car was parked right next to the one i was renting

Significant Communication Issues
Pros: The customer reps were excellent - very pleasant and helpful - they carefully explained everything to me and how their system worked. The rates were good and I loved the car we were able to secure - and I am not sure I could have found it at another vendor (a Mini Cooper). The Sixt vehicle pickup location in Ft Lauderdale was abt 5 miles from the airport so we had to cab there. The other Sixt site closer to the airport had a shuttle but there was an additional $20 charge to drop it off there. Lastly, the Sixt shuttle only made one stop at the airport, so we had to take another shuttle to our terminal which was very confusing and inconvenient for the price.
Cons: The customer service phone system was the WORST I have ever encountered. One day around 3 pm I tried to call a couple of times - each time the phone rang about 15 times - no one ever answered and I finally just gave up. Several days later I called the customer service line and was put on hold with NO ONE ANSWERING for 28 minutes. Fortunately I just had a simple question and was an emergency. I would NEVER use Sixt again because what would happen if I really needed to speak with someone?

Pros: Sixt was good.
Cons: Kayak never stated the Sixt rental office was not the one outside the air port. I had to get a cab from the Suxt oytside airport to one in town about 5 miles away. I will not use Kayak for a car rental again

Pros: I liked the low miles and quality / price of the car
Cons: I didn't like having to take a taxi to the location where my car was . When I booked it I was told in writing that a shuttle would take me to the location where my car was.

Awful First Experience
Pros: Once we got to the right location the employee their helped us out tremendously.
Cons: First time using Kayak- I put in the airport we were flying into. Upon arriving we took the shuttle to Sixt rental car. Once we got there they employee told me we made a reservation for a different location. I asked if they could help us out. They told me they didn't have any crossover cars for us and that we would have to PAY DOUBLE. I called the other location and they came and picked us up. But this was after lugging our 2 kids under 3, all our luggage (car seats, strollers, etc). Because of Kayak booking us at a location that isn't within the airport I will never use them agains. Kayak caused us a lot of stress and an extra 3 hours to our travel. There was nothing on the confirmation reservation stating that the location wasn't at the airport.

Waited 2 hours to get my car
Cons: 1) it's out of the airport 2) there was a line of 15 people to get the car and only 1 Worker from sixt I waited 2 hours and 15 mins from when I arrived to sixt till I Got my car

Great customer service!
Pros: The 2 ladies that helped me were super friendly. The process was easy. I would definitely rent from here again.

The disclosures on the initial booking not read.
Pros: The Mercedes Benz C Class was not available so they provided me a Yellow Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, the sun roof didn't work properly. Had to go back and waste my vacation time on a malfunction. You get what you pay for.

Cons: The car was sooo far from ok the airport that we had to take a bus to the off-site location and then a taxi to the next location! None of that was made clear to us at the time of booking. Then had to pay $20 to drop it at the airport but there is went a Sixt return at the airport so I had to drive it to the off-airport site (not mentioned when I asked if I could return it to my he airport), then a shuttle bus back to the airport. We were not the only ones we met who had the same issues. The car itself was old, and the transmission was about shot. Should not have been in service. At the time of pickup I was offered a much smaller car than the one I reserved without a mention that it was a cheaper class of car. I've used Sixt in Europe but won't use it again in Florida.

Cons: I requested car at FLL airport. When arrived I took 2 shuttles to get to Sixt rental car only to be told tha my reservation was at Sixt location in a shopping mall a half hours drive from the airport. The agent on duty at the airport location said this happens quite often when reservations are made through third party agencies such as Kayak. It was over 2 hours from the time I arrived until I finally got my car.

Cons: The original car and price I reserved was not given to me at pickup. Matter of fact the sixt office I went to, to pick up my car was closed during normal business hours. I had to go to the airport location the next day, I even took an uber to the first location which was lost money. Then when I get to the airport location, the car and rate was not available. Ridiculous! Charged me more money and they didn't seem at all sympathetic about it. They they charge me another day on top of that when I dropped the vehicle off

Cons: The Sunset location was great. The location that shuttles you to the airport was terrible. They were rude, not helpful, and really overall jerks. I will never rent through this company. The Sunset location did make it better but not enough to ever go back.

Pros: The Car was as described for the Class (Luxury) it was a Cadillac ATS.
Cons: Had to wait in line for > 1 hour at pickup, disorganized and slow at Fort Lauderdale. I filled out a fast pickup form a head of time and had a barcode ready for them to scan but there was only one painfully slow line that averaged >10 minutes per customer. Off Airport shuttle stop is far away from the terminals, we paid someone $5 bucks to haul our luggage on a cart from the baggage claim to the shuttle pickup. I will never use them again!

Cons: On Friday 12/16, after a 30 minute wait to be served and after completing all forms online prior to my visit, rental center supervisor Antoine Val refused to accept my Chase credit card for the security deposit which I had used to prepay my reservation. He said it was rejected but did not allowed me to see it on his computer screen. Of course this was after I told him I didn't need LDW and Supplemental Liability Insurance because it was covered by my Chase card. After this, I had to buy LDW and Supplemental Liability from him as it was not covered by my other credit card. $340!!! I had paid the taxi on my way to the airport with the Chase card and later used it to pay dinner that evening. No issues at all with the credit card that didn't work for Mr. Val. I was ripped off by Sixt and Mr. Val $340. I will never use Sixt again.

Cons: First of all on my way there I received a call that they weren't honoring any of their rentals cause they didn't have cars. I said to the person on the phone you're kidding me right cause I have a reservation I had made online and it said I had a compact car. She asked me when I made the reservation and I said today. I asked dont you have any cars available she said yes the economy and I said if it has 4 wheels it suits me fine. I just need to get to my destination tonight. She said if you don't mind it then it's ok. Next hurdle was the unknown rental restriction policies for renting with a debit card. It created anxiety and last minute panic at rental pickup because I had a 4 hour drive ahead to my destination at at that time of the day this was my last resort. The lady at the door asked if I had a pickup I said yes gave her my d/l and business debit card. She took one look at my card and said you need a credit card to rent or 2 utility bills in your name to receive the rental with a debit card. I said what that's not in the rental that I made online... at this time I had already even paid for the rental insurance. I reported to the agent that I don't have either as im a missionary in that area and travels alot state to state so I don't have utility bills in my name and her response was well we can't rent to you. When I asked her why not because I have a reservation and surely you must have something in your process for people like me who are renting online who don't live in the area but we're picking up from you... her response was well you have to speak to her and she pointed to the lady next to her and walked away never to be seen again. I waited for awhile for the lady next to her who when I saw her repeated the same thing to me. I asked her can I please speak to her manager she got up went back through some doors and almost immediately came back and said no we can't do it... you need a credit card... imagine my disappointment because this is my last minute as I had no other options available. thsnk God my friend was with me who I humbly asked if she would rent it for me which also meant I had to pay more money for the rental because they had to add me as an additional driver for $30 more an unforeseen charge. Bottom line for whatever reason debit card renters like myself should know this before we show up so that we don't face the embarrassment at the counter in public. If I had had a choice I would have gone somewhere else but it was too late and I couldn't stay the next day as I had an appointment so thank God we were able to resolve but with no help from their customer service or even the manager coming out to speak to me the customer.

Pros: Left the car at return with full tank When arrive at the counter in the office, the attendant ask me about comprovation of the car return? Sic I Answer him to check at his system, then he advert me that I must colect the comprovation by miself at return patio. (Sic) The lerk no have this information in the system? I Thought) After talk we go to the patio and the return attendant confirm to him the car was returned. The clerk angied charge me 13 usd by fail to return gas tank full, but argue him that the tank was full at return. And the clerk call the manager a woman, to solve the question and I Ask her to proof that the tank was not full. And she argued that I Must need to proof showing her a receipt of fuelling (Sic), I pay the 13 usd to end this ridiculous question and follow my life. And never back to SIXTY again And if possible I Not Recomend to Anyone to use this worst bad and dishonest service.

Cons: They don't tell you about having to take two buses to the rental office. The car they gave me was filthy inside. There was scratches and dents all over the car which when I pointed them out to the agent was told not to worry as they had taken note but when I returned the car was told That there was a new scratch but not to worry. Ridiculous. Time from getting my bags to driving off 1 hour 15 mins.

Didn't tell us about the crazy deposit prices
Pros: I didn't like anything
Cons: We reserved a convertible. They were going to give us a Volkswagen beetle. They told us the deposit was $600. I asked for a cameronor mustang instead. They wanted $800. I've never heard of deposits like this in my life. No other car rental. Note I have a perfect driving record and I am 25 years old. $600 deposit for a beetle?! Dream on.

Cons: When I arrived a car in my category was not ready - they tried to up sell to a higher category. Experienced a flat tire with no spare. - when I called them they wanted me to find a tow truck to swap out the car for another. When they finally send a car I had to return it due to it not driving properly. Something was wrong with the front end causing it to shake on the highway.

Pros: The car was fine with no issues.
Cons: Usually when you pick-up a rental car, you take the comapny's airport shuttle to their location so you can pick it up. Not with SIXT in Fort Lauderdale in Florida. After taking two shuttles to get to Sixt, I was informed at the desk that my reservation was not valid in the location that the airpor shuttle services. Apparently they have multiple locations in Fort Lauderdale and I was supposed to take a cab to the "right one" where my reservation was. They were able to cancel it and give me a car, although the cost was $20 higher at the location where the airport shuttle drops us off. Talk about bait & switch.

Cons: The attitude given and the fact that my debit card had electronic use on the bottom I was not able to rent the vehicle. They didn't accept cash not did they want to use someone else that was with me to use their card for the reservations.

Pros: Chevy suburban handled like a charm. Way lower cost to rent than anyone else around. Never heard of this company before, but great customer service.
Cons: Had to pay for extra driver being my husband. Not the usual case elsewhere

Pros: Pick up was ok - line was slow moving but once it was my turn the agent was good. After our fiasco which will be described below the company did a good job 'fixing' their mistake and took us straight to the airport.
Cons: Any addresses online for rental car return are INCORRECT! Apparently the company knows about this and has yet to fix it. Basically we drove to the wrong address and when we called in to get the correct information we were put on hold for 42 MINUTES!!!! With a large family and a plane to catch this was extremely stressful and disappointing. I will choose another company in the future due to this - mostly because others have been through the same situation (according to the agent who drove us to the airport) and sixt hasn't fixed anything or notified customers upon renting the car to be careful about this.

Cons: When I arrived they didn't have the vehicle type or a similar one to offer. I was supposed to get a vehicle with a third row but they told me they didn't carry that type of vehicle and referred me to the fine print telling me that I booked through a 3rd party website so it was not their fault. They did little to help saying the only vehicle they could offer me was a 12 person passenger van. I asked about transferring a vehicle from a nearby location to pick up the next day and they said they couldn't do that and recommended we drive to Miami from Lauderdale because that particular location had what we needed. With the wasted cab ride to and from, I actually lost $50 renting from Sixt.
