Awful,only 2 staff working,customers had been in line for over an hour to pick up their vehicle. We couldn’t wait,called to cancel,received a cancellation number verbally and was told that we would receive an email confirmation which never happened. No matter how good the price is being offered if the service doesn’t support the offer then it’s not worth it. We would’ve been late for a meeting if we had waited,we took an Uber.Reviewed Jan 6 2025

My issue was - in the hotel I was at, I had to use valet parking - the valet driver hit a pipe with the rental car. When I tried to call the official Thrifty number on the contract, I couldn't get a live person AND (as crazy as it seems) kept bringing my to a sales line selling Life Lock. This happened about 10 times. Not kidding. After 9.5 hours of phone calls, paperwork and bringing the damaged car to the Miami airport, I got a replacement car. The customer service person told me to bring the car to the Miami Airport. Note - when I brought it to the damaged car to the Miami Airport, the person at the Thrifty car rental refused to replace it. Again, not kidding. After about 1 hour of arguing with him and trying to call customer service back, they FINALLY accepted it. The experience was terrible. And, I'm not kidding about the 9.5 hours from the time of the accident - 3:58PM till 1:30AM I was dealing with this issue.Reviewed Sep 27 2024

The car class we reserved was not available forcing us to upgrade at a charge, then despite declining all coverage we were charged for loss and damage insurance, both of these things ended up causing us to spend almost $200 above what we planned based on my kayak reservationReviewed Jul 23 2024

I was never able to pick up the car and still got charged for it because Thrifty could not cancel it for me. My flight was cancelled due to a tropical cyclone less than 3 hours before the flight. Obviously I could not pick up the car if my flight was cancelled. Expedia, whom the charge was under, couldn’t refund me because my itinerary couldn’t be found. Car rentals. com couldn’t find the itinerary in their online system either. I spent at least 3 hours calling Thrifty, Expedia, and car rentals.com only to get no refund and no cancellation. The emails from expedia have a car rentals com banner- was the whole thing a scam? I am forced to dispute the charge with my card, which is extremely inconvenient. I do not trust kayak anymore. I am out $200 for no reason. Lesson learned.Reviewed Jun 27 2024

Pros:friendly, courteous staff. Eager to pleaseCons:I know rental cars are scarce right now, but this car had over 46,000 miles on it and required maintenance. This is something that should be checked when car is returned. Reminder flag was in front of me for the entire 8 day use of the car.Reviewed May 25 2021

Pros:Airport locationCons:Waited just over an hour to get my cart... long line due to only two people on the desk. When I check in the attendant did something on a hand held reader and walked a way. I waited 10 minutes until he returned and he told me I was all set. Not very pleasant employees checking in or checking outReviewed May 23 2021
