Convertible sortedPros:Although they initially directed me to a Chrysler convertible (hard top, small boot) the assistant got me a Mustang (soft top, big boot) and we had a great holiday.Reviewed Jan 2 2016

Kayak $ on rental car lower than other sites!Pros:1. When I am shopping for the rental car companies, it comes down to best category for best price... 2. We came right over from our plane landing, got on rental car shuttle and nominal waiting time! 3. The bonus of picking up this car was it's convenient FLL location at the car rental Multi Floor facility, right outside the elevators. 4. And at the time of our pick up, transaction was very fast, as there were many agents and hardly a waiting line. 5. The shuttle drivers are very helpful and friendly, so if you need assistance lifting your bag(s) in and out of the bus, they will pleasantly be glad to help you! I always tip them.Cons:Attitude of our agent wasn't the best, she had an edge...Reviewed Nov 12 2017

Pros:Easy process to rent a car.Cons:Informing people before they come in about rules and regulations such as not renting crossovers/SUVs to people under 25. Sometimes its essential to have a specific car and to only find out you can’t rent it once you are already there after booking online is really inconvenient. The online website should clearly show what can be rented by who and the age group. I rented a car twice this year alone and one was a compact SUV and the other was a full size crossover with seating for 7 people and I am under 25. Alamo made it a very big deal about which car they can give regardless of the extra fee I had to pay for being under 25 anyways. I ended up having to pay for a car I didnt want or booked. I have been driving for at least 5 years and have never had an accident, I rented 2 cars this year with no problem, I am paying for a specific rental with protection, and on top of that I am legally allowed to drive a small UHAUL truck... So not being able to drive a crossover/SUV is ridiculous. Not to mention that if I walk in to a dealership and choose to buy a pickup truck or very big car, I can... Anyhow, the driver is responsible for everything and anything that happens to the rental, so why would it matter what car you give someone anyways?Reviewed Aug 20 2020

Pros:The supervisor did knock some money off of our bill but honestly the car should have been free.Cons:The mini van was filthy it smelled horrible there was actual vomit from the back seat that had leaked down into the trunk area where we had to put our luggage if the car was going 60 mph it was shaking and so loud we couldnt hear ourselves talk there was a big piece if plastic broken from the seat that stuck out and scratched everyone getting in the back. The supervisor gave us a discount on the car but that just didn't really rectify the situation. We got the mini van so our other family members that were on vacation with us could all ride together with us and it was just embarrassingReviewed Feb 7 2018

Excellent, friendly servicePros:I reserved a car from Alamo in Fort Lauderdale with some trepidation. Past rentals from Alamo had been frustrating, with surly representatives, constant up-selling and guilt-tripping. This time was a great contrast! We were greeted by a very friendly young lady who assisted us in checking in with their computer kiosk. We quickly went through the questions on the form. Yes, we were given the choice to upgrade and take all of the expensive insurance options, but no one made us feel careless or guilty in not accepting them. Once the paperwork was done, the representative guided us out to the garage and introduced us to a young man who instructed us to choose any full-size car in the lot. The car I chose was nearly new, very clean and everything worked great. We had similar experiences when we turned in the car in Tampa. Plus, the price was the lowest of any company we checked. Well done Alamo!Reviewed Mar 28 2016

Returning it to Ft Lauderdale, wasn't as good.Cons:For some reason when I dropped the car off at Ft Lauderdale Florida, an additional $48.48 showed up on my receipt. It is as if the system, added back the one days (it was a 3 day rental), that the manager in Orlando took off for my inconvenience. SEE WHAT I LIKED ABOUT PICKING IT UP IN ORLANDO ABOVE FOR THE CONTRAST. I have composed a letter and am sending it now to your headquarters in St. Louis to get that $48.48 back. I didn't dispute it at Ft Lauderdale because I was tight on time for my flight.Reviewed Dec 29 2016

Real poor customer service on this onePros:The very nice associate who quickly processed my cancellationCons:Had a rental reserved for 2/15/17 at Miami international airport, arrived at the counter and filled out the paperwork for rental. The associate told me go to row 3 and take any car you would like, then proceeded to rattle off a list of the names and models that would be there. I took an elevator to the garage only to find a line of 70+ people waiting for a car, the only cars in the lot were 15 passenger vans. I watered for a while but we were waiting for cars to be returned washed processed ect before they were given to those waiting on the line. After about 1/2 hour I found an associate in the garage lever to process a return and took a cab. Why was I not told there were no cars before I even got on line, why did the employee at the desk who knew there was no cars go through with renting one to me. Why was an hour of my time completely wastedReviewed Feb 20 2017

Pros:Very cheap price, recommend on that alone.Cons:The woman at the desk insisted we upgrade to another car as the compact car we chose would not have cruise control, phone charger, bluetooth, and the other car would have better milage. The cost was $12, which isn't a lot but we paid $13 for the compact so it would have been double. We chose not to, ND the compact car still had everything we were told it wouldn't. And after 3 hours in the highway, it only cost $17 to fill the tank. I don't mind people trying to upsell items and cars, but I don't feel like they have to lie to do so.Reviewed May 7 2017

Cons:As all car rentals, they were very pushy and insisted that if we don't buy additional insurance we were risking a lot. That's on top of the insurance I bought from Allianz and the car insurance I have back home. It's still unclear to me, as it's always been with car rentals, how much insurance one really needs and how much is too much. They make sure it's fuzzy info so you feel vulnerable and will be forced to buy additional. Overall the car rental was a great experience. Very reasonable. Quick service at pickup and drop off. Clean and new car. No surprises.Reviewed Mar 4 2016

Very Impressed with the quality of service from AlPros:I was extremely impressed by the friendliness and professional service provided to me in my recent rental at the Alamo Ft. Lauderdale Airport location. They were fast, extremely competitive price wise and very professional and friendly do rent from. Outstanding value and service at all levels! It sure is nice to have every employee that touched the customer ask me if I was fully satisfied with their service. Clearly a company that's making a serious effort to earn customers. This was the first time in 15 years of business travel I used them, I travel 200+ days a year for business, they have earned my business from this experience!Cons:They were a bit overwhelmed at the drop off but that was most likely simply a busy Monday morning. Otherwise absolutely no complaints.Reviewed Feb 2 2016
