Great location if you want to stay in the Back Bay Area. Clean rooms and linens. Staff was attentive and quick with requests for more towels etc. Got a great deal on the rate through a promotion on KAYAK, under $200 a night for a holiday weekend.
All in all it was an okay stay but there was an insect in the ice,no refrigerator in the room, and we had a very loud neighbor at 2 in the morning.

I like the proximity of the hotel to the Hynes Convention Center, and the variety of food and retail stores available. And the presence of the chapel in the Prudential center was a very pleasant surprise! The staff that checked me in. She was on the snarky side. After a long drive to Boston and attending the conferences for the whole day, I want to get checked in as soon as possible and get some rest. I unknowingly stepped into the line of the "preferred guest", and she sarcastically pointed that out to me. That was not a very good first impression on the staff and the hotel, as far as I was concerned.

Very spacious rooms, great location next to restaurants (a lot of them), shopping, transportation, you name it. Kind of too big. Lobby was filled with tourists and flight attendants, just really massive hotel. I prefer boutique hotels.

In the room we stayed the heater was making an obnoxious noise. We could hear everything from all angles and did not get much rest. We as a family tried to go to the pool and the pool was nice. Yet before getting into the pool it felt as if we were walking outside with nothing on it was completely freezing. Everywhere we went in the hotel was cold and we needed to wear our jackets at all times. Even though the stay was at artic temperatures the staff was great and included my child in every conversation.

The staff were courtious, helpful, and attentive I would have liked to have had tea making facilities in room. (I think that guests would only tend to use such facilities only at times when Commonwealth Coffee is not available).
Service was great, Room and amenities were lush. For a BU Alumni attending some University events it was perfectly convenient! Valet was a little pricey...park on the street if you can but the Valet guys offered great service! Valet parking was pricey for Boston!
Room was great; location superb to Fenway for Billy Joel concert, and staff was fine. Valet was extraordinary! However, had to negotiate with staff at desk to get room reserved. Booked at Hotel.com and reserved the Fenway Room which is shown on their website as looking over Fenway Park. When we asked for it upon arrival desk clerk told us a lot of people THINK it looks over Fenway but it doesn't. Even if it did there was construction obliterating any view. (Picture on Hotel.com misleading: hotel is on Beacon Street a block from Fenway Park). He gave us a "Kenmore" room which looked into alley-type street. Asked for refund of difference, told not done, but upgraded to suite. Satisfied with new room..

We travel alot and I don't think I have ever stayed in a nicer hotel. The rooms were exceptional from cleanliness of the rooms to the friendliness of the staff. I will never stay in another hotel in Boston but thisone. Nothing!

Smelled good, friendly people, the room, the fancieness Issues with my prepaid credit card apparently they're not accepted. This should be noted somewhere when booking. I didn't have another credit card or enough cash. In the end it was worked out but it was unneeded stress. When checking out (645 am) we needed to wait for a bit. There was no staff at desk

Great location near fenway and bu. The staff, while very nice and commenting about my surgery, were not very thoughtful in putting someone who just had knee surgery in the furthest room from the elevators. Poor choice of room for a disabled person. Very nice cheese plate, but I would have rather had a room not at the end of the hallway post surgery.

The staff at the Hotel Commonwealth was friendly and accommodating. My Mom and I stayed one night in order to attend the Patriot's Victory Parade, and though we opted for a late checkout, we ended up getting stuck on the parade route. We called to let the hotel know, and they were very kind. Instead of charging us for half a day, they went and packed up our room for us, and held our luggage in the bell closet. The hotel was beautiful and the pillows and beds were some of the best I've ever slept in! Will definitely stay again.

Whether it was a restaurant reservation, flight reservation change or room change to accommodate my adult daughter and my stay, there was no detail that the wonderful front desk staff couldn't accomplish with ease and grace.

The location is good. Walkable to many attractions and restaurants. T stop right in front. They didn't have our room ready at the check in time. The sink was clogged with what looked like old vomit. The service was slow. The rooftop pool is tiny as is the area. I definitely wouldn't pay all that money to stay there.

The staff was very friendly and eager to make our stay as pleasant and comfortable as they could. The rooms were very comfortable. and quiet. The kids really had a good time in the pool. I found a bobby pin in the bathroom that didn't belong to us. We ran out of shampoo and conditioner. There was no soap holder in the bathroom. The soap bars were too small for the wire holder There were no hand bars in the tub enclosure that an older person,such as myself, could hold on for support while leaning over to wash their feet.

- Location - Rooms were nice - Price was reasonable - We stayed there partly because of the rooftop pool, but they sold so many "day passes" on the weekends, that hotel guests like us couldn't get a chair. It was an amenity that they sold right out from under us. Boo!

location The hilton would not honor the double room I booked without an argument. I booked a double and they claimed to only have single king bed available. They claimed booking thru a third party was no guarantee. In the end we got the handicapped room but it was totally aggravating. I guarantee they overbooked bc a student group was there and they obviously can't place students in one bed. It was not super clean. Mold in sinks and lobby toilets were clogged.
The manager was very nice and tried to help. The doorman lost our bag. The front desk was incompetent and was hardly helpful. The restaurant refused us service.
Lovely amenities: pool/hot tub in the fitness center was very clean, cotton robe in the closet was a nice touch, and the infused water in lobby made for a refreshing start of the day. No included breakfast and subpar in-room coffee. There is a cafe in the lobby but by that time, I was ready to explore elsewhere.
Hotel didn't have my reservation that I made through Kayak and the staff was not helpful in resolving it
The whole atmosphere from walking in was just happy. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The view of the city was great, and the room was phenomenal. Loved the decor and the pillows. The pool was awesome and that was the best temp in a hot tub I've felt in a long time. Paying for parking. They clearly own the garage I think they could include parking for their guests.
There was a mistake in our reservation dates. The front desk staff was so rude and apathetic about it, we cancelled our return stay with them. Neither one said they were sorry about the mix up, never smiled, kept saying they were totally booked — we had been walking in the rain from the bus and obviously needed help. Customers ultimately decide who receives their money!

Loved the location. It was our first visit to Boston and loved the convenience to Newberry St. and the subway. Nice rooms and great service. Nothing fancy but met all our needs.
We originally had a reservation for 3 days. We were a late check-in. However when we arrived the first night they were fully booked and had to get us a room at a different hotel. That experience did not go well but the Hilton Boston Back Bay did everything to help us.
Staff was friendly, location is pretty good. The hotel interior and rooms need renovation.
Convenient location Very antiquated but in good shape
Located within steps of Fenway Park and the Kenmore Square T station, with decent restaurants within two blocks, the location is wonderfully convenient. While room rates vary from week to week, they are usually well within my reach and very low by Boston standards Somehow the hotel didn't have my booking, but I had a copy of the on-line reservation and payment. They were able to accommodate me but there were some uncomfortable minutes. The room wasn't ready until 3:15, which is unusual for them.
The front desk staff was extremely friendly and welcoming The shower was funky, the last day the water was a little bit cold. Also, when you opened the water it would come out through all the pipes, bottom pipe, shower head and fhe hand held shower head it was odd not necessarily an issue besides the cold water

Location close to our meeting in Copley Square Very dated. Old windows that don't filter street noise even on 6th floor. Worst of all is their ridiculous cancellation policy of 72 hours prior to arrival. They wouldn't waive this even though I had just reserved online 50 min before. This place is an overpriced dump!

Great location at a great rate. Very close to the T station. Reception was awful. No greeting or pleasantries, we were not even told where to find the elevator.
The building was old but well maintained and clean. The room we had on the top floor had a broken air conditioning unit, so it was an uncomfortable nights sleep
This hotel is very well located in Kenmore, where there is a little bit of everything around, a T stop, buses and walking distance to Newbury street and the shopping area. Specially, it is very close to Fenway Park for those who are interested. It was comfortable and we had everything we needed, including free wifi in the room. Our stay was perfect. I believe the prices are a little high for what you get in a 3 star hotel. But, in Boston, the hotel prices are high in general. In this hotel you are basically paying for location.

Room looked at Fenway -very friendly and helpful staff - Not a lot of rooms, so it feels a little more exclusive -free wifi, although slow -complementary bottled water -very clean and felt almost new -allowed to bring drinks and snacks to the pool (including alcohol) -mostly families and mature occupants -Breakfast is expensive (e.g. $4 cereal, 10 eggs and bacon) -parking is not included (unlimited valet for $40/night) -rooms are very expensive when the Red Sox have home game -wifi was "slow" most of the time
Me and my new bride spent our honeymoon at the verb and had a great time the staff was super nice the hotel is in a great spot to get around the city and see everything Boston has to offer definitely going back one day The only down side to the stay was that it wasn't longer and the restaurant wasn't finished yet for us to try
Great staff, clean facility and good sized, comfortable room with a nice large flat screen TV. Fun 60's style rock and roll theme. Directly across the street from Fenway Park, so if you're going to the game, it couldn't be more convenient. I would recommend this hotel, and would stay there again if I ever make it back to Boston. The restaurant wasn't open yet, but was supposed to open in only a week from our stay. It's only a minor thing, but I wish the chair in the room had wheels on it.
The location was great. The staff was friendly. The rooms were cool and a decent size. I ordered a room with one King sized bed and got one with two Queens.
Spacious room. Clean. Great work space to sit and work on computer. My door was right next to the exit door for the floor and I was woken up at 2AM three night in a row as a roust crowd came back from the bar closing.

Convenience to Fenway park which is why we were in Boston. Close to restaurants and bars Airconditioning was not good. Several of our rooms had to request fans. Disappointed pool was closed the first day. That night saw a rat swimming in pool. I know price was based in reds of being in town but was pricey. Could have included breakfast at that price

I love a good bed and breakfast. While the buffet style breakfast is simple, it is all you can eat and delicious: French toast, mixed fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage, croisants, orange juice, tea, coffee... mm mm good.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They made us feel very welcomed and had great suggestions for places to eat in the area. The location was perfect to be able to walk to get food, go shopping, and catch the trolley to do some sightseeing.

It was very clean and convenient, with a very friendly staff. It was a very traditional atmosphere with a good complimentary breakfast. Unfortunately, I lost an expensive alarm clock on Saturday evening between 7 pm and 10 pm. I was in 204 and I have no idea how it could have disappeared from the room.

Love the location, very close to everything we wanted. Fenway was just a quick walk away as well as a few nice bars. However there were two different tram lines just a few blocks away to get anywhere not within walking distance. Room was small but clean with all the amenities required. Didn't care for the coffee, however there was a 711 two blocks down that had green mountain coffee so all was well there. Also didn't care for having to park a few blocks away, but for $15 a day parking, it was better than getting a ticket.
The responsiveness of the staff was good when there were problems. The room had not been checked properly prior to being let to us. We had to change rooms as the first one had blinds that did not fit the window so our privacy was compromised. The second room in which we stayed was not clean including plates in the cupboards. We had to wash them before use. The tv did not work due to a broken cable. We had no way of controlling the heating when it was chilly and had to call for it to be switche in on more than one occasion. There were no cooking utensils or cutlery in the room and the gas cooker would not ignite automatically with no provision of a manual lighter. The carpet was filthy around the edges, the whole place needed a good clean, thick dust lay along the edge of the carpet.
We lived in Back Bay in the past so the old sounds and smells of an authentic row house were familiar and expected when we reserved the room. It was clean, albeit old and aging, the kitchenette useful and well supplied, the chairs and table at the bay windows and view very nice. There are stores nearby for food as well as nice takeouts. It is not for everyone - but we loved it! To be in the center of Boston for that price was fantastic. We were able to air out the smell of febreze or the like. It was not needed and if it had not aired out, it would have been a problem.

The price for being two blocks away from Prudential center was great as the event I was attending was being held there. Clean sheets, floors, and otherwise. Friendly and helpful staff! The walls were thin enough where I could clearly hear any noises including coughs, grumbles and otherwise of next door patrons.
The location and full kitchen facilities. It was within walking distance of all activities we were involved with. Excellent location for subway. Shower heads were extremely noisy. Adjacent room shower woke us.

My room was on the 3rd floor in a building with no elevator. The only interaction I had with staff prior to check out was because I emailed to ask them about a late arrival; did not talk to or hear from anyone else other than that.

My room had been recently refurbished. decor very nice - and good size. would be good for longer term stay as it had kitchenette. Stairwell was narrow - no elevator which was not an issue for me, but might be. also the office staff was not always present: "on break, back shortly, sorry for inconvenience"

Lots of space, kitchen facilities, nice street, friendly staff, close to shops, including Prudential Centre and Shaws supermarket, great value - $140 inc tax for a one bed studio. Shower took a long time to heat up, we guess this was because we were in the basement apartment and the boiler was at the top of the building. Think the place is being slowly overhauled as some of kitchen/bathroom units look a little bit bashed, but another suite we looked into as it was being cleaned was really well furnished. Our flat was mostly lovely though. The carpet leading to our room, down the stairs needs replacing and the room next door is the linen room and a big basket of dirty linen was sat in the corridor at one point, but overall this didn't affect our stay. The aircon filter was not clean though so we didn't use it, it does need cleaning. Check in area was cluttered.
My new wife and I honeymooned there for one night. It was an old building, but clean and well-furnished. Each little apartment has everything you need, plus ours had a nice view. The bed was fantastically comfortable and we enjoyed being able to eat food we made ourselves at at little table. Staff was kind and pleasant to deal with. This place is not new or renovated or fancy by any standards, but well maintained and cozy, and a great value. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone looking to stay at a decent place in Boston for a good price! The cheap shampoo and soap provided smelled a little weird, and there was a funny little device on the wall that may have been meant for a lamp or some device that had exposed wires. We parked at Alewife station for $7 and took the T in because the parking at Copley House is $20 and the cheapest around (and we hate driving in Boston traffic). Still, the good outweighed these minor inconveniences!

It was a convenient location. For the price, the hotel was very shabby. It clearly hasn't been rennovated in a long time and was just kind of depressing. For how much they were charging, the hotel should have been much nice. I was disappointed.
I know it's Boston but still overpriced. Had a lot of luggage that I by had to climb stairs with because there was no elevator. Small bathroom. No electrical outlets.
The staff was wonderful, let us use their microwave and managed to get us paper plates and utensils on short notice. The location is marvelous. We will be back. There was simply nothing to complain about. Oh, it was a little tricky to get a consistent temperature in the room.

Room is clean, bathroom was just outside. In the past I've been in hostels all over the damn world and that's what this was to me – a hostel for adults. From other reviews I've seen people are expecting some full on BnB experience that is not, but they do offer a free continental breakfast if you're up early. If you're into documenting your luxurious accommodations to show off – this is not for you. If you're more into being in a clean place that's centrally located where you're going to sleep and refresh – 100% yes. The place was full and yet we saw no one and never waited for the bathroom. Friendly staff that got us in and out efficiently.
Location was pretty good for an event at Fenway Stayed in the Constitution room. Bathroom was microscopic with very amateurish remodeling. Looked like someone's uncle did it as a favor. TV was low def and mounted so high it was hard to watch. Beds were ancient with very saggy and noisy box springs. Felt more like a stay at a cheap summer cottage with second hand furniture. Definitely would not recommend for anyone used to staying in decent hotels.

Great location on Beacon street close to Fenway Park, Prudential Complex, shopping, etc. No elevator and 5th floor rooms are good hike up the steps after a long day sight seeing in Boston. Mattresses on bed seemed old and overly soft.
