Ignored our complaint that GPS did not work
Pros: Car was OK
Cons: After first day the GPS system, for which we paid a surcharge, stopped working. When I returned the car I asked that the charge be removed from our bill. The clerk at LAX tried for 10 minutes to get the GPS to work and could not. I finally said, "See, that's what the problem is." She said since she couldn't get it to work she couldn't give us a credit. Budget just lost a customer.

Pros: Drop off was painless!
Cons: We waited in line at the Palm Springs Airport rental car terminal for 2.5 hours to rent the car. Budget and Avis shared the same line. There had to have been more than one hundred people waiting in line. I reserved a luxury car (Lincoln or similar) they tried to give me a Chrysler 300 which is not even in the same class as a Lincoln. We were offered a Cadillac for $10 more a day. With the 2.5 hour wait we should have gotten that upgrade for free. Frustrating.

Great car located at the terminal
Pros: - Cars were located at the terminal. No shuttles! - Car was in great shape and was excellent with a lot of deluxe features - Friendly staff at the counter - Would most definitely book with them again in Palm Springs.
Cons: - Though staff was nice, they were a bit disorganized and it took FOREVER to get the rental car. - They didn't offer any information about where to gas up before returning to the airport. There aren't many opportunities right around the airport. It would have been helpful if they gave you tips about this.

Horrible pick up expereince in Palm Springs
Cons: The wait time in line was over 30 minutes which is to be expected if you have snagged a good rate....just like everyone else. The counter time for me was ridiculously long. At one point the desk agent just left, another 10 minute wait, while she identified which car we would have. She completed the transaction cheerfully and then told us to wait by a pillar to get the keys. WHAT? I have a car but no keys? We waited politely for a few minutes and then approached another agent asking what was going on and she essentially said it wasn't her problem, go back to the agent who had sent us to the pillar, who then sent us back to the pillar to wait, impatiently at that point. We repeated this until finally the second agent said there had been a mistake with the placement of the keys and she got us a new car, with keys this time.
