Dollar is a good value
Pros: Fast check in process; value was good; car was clean
Cons: No cruise control in car; staff not friendly; dropoff slightly confusing

Pros: Relatively quick registration access to the rental vehicle.
Cons: Vehicle had duct tape glue residue on all four doors for some reason that left it unsightly.

Absolutely the worse
Cons: Reserved a full sized sedan. Received a midsized to borderline compact 2015 Cruz. The car was falling apart. Went back to the counter to get a different car. They only had SUV's and they wanted to charge my literally double what I was paying. This was absolutely the worse rental experience I've ever had. I will likely never rent from them again.

Cons: By the time I got to the car, my price had increased by 500%. I rent a lot of cars, but will never make the mistake of renting from Dollar ever again.

Cons: Went to counter to receive car and they informed me that Debit cards were not accepted as of 2 days before my rental. They were rude and not willing to work with us at all.

Pushy sales woman
Pros: I reserved a car at Dollar because it was cheaper by $12 than Avis. When I went to check in the lady was very pushy trying to get me to purchase their insurance, and upgrade. I had to say no several times, and in the end she upgraded me and gave me the insurance anyway, which doubled the price. I cancelled it on the spot and went next door to Avis, where there were no pushy sales whatsoever. Well worth the $12 not to have the hassle and bad attitude.

Nickel and Dimed by Dollar
Pros: Car was fine, pickup and drop off at this location are easy enough but this is not specific to Dollar
Cons: The counter representative put me in an upgrade without telling me and charged extra for it. Trying to dispute this extra charge is not possible through the national telephone number as they tell you that the dispute must be settled with the local agency. The problem with this is that the local agency doesn't list their telephone number (not even the national hotline knows their number!) so you must dispute in person. This is very hard to do with a busy travel itemerafy. In the end they finally agreed to a partial refund but only after LOTS of discussion. In the end it increased the cost of my rental by about 40% after all of the extra fees they charged. The worst part is that everyone I talked to seemed to beat around the bush about what fees were what, no one was straightforward, ad most were clearly under pressure to make a buck. I will not rent from Dollar again.

Pros: The agent was unrelenting with trying to upsell me. I understand that they are likely told to do this but it was obnoxious nonetheless.

thought I had a reservation with the car rental bu
Cons: The lady at the Dollar rental told me that they didn't honor any transaction with this third party and that because of that they had to make a new reservation again. By the time they try to use my credit card and because international charges my bank block the card, so there I was with no car couldnt contact my bank for authorization and left it. Very inconvenient for a customer not to be advised ahead of time for this so i would have been prepared. I will look for a reimbursement of all charges you did to my credit card thru this web site.

Price at counter should match price online
Cons: Hidden costs should be included in online price so not such s big difference when you pay for rental

Pros: Great price: easy to pick up and drop off. Woman in lot was great to work with!
Cons: Car exterior was not totally clean: hood was dirty like something was dropped on it. Counter person seemed to be perturbed when I didn't take the extra insurance...very odd.

Drop Off Was Unorganized
Pros: The pick was quick and efficient and maybe that set the bar high for drop off. The car was clean and full f fuel.
Cons: Drop off attendant couldn't find my information/contract. Couldn't provide change for a cash payment. Actually told me I would have to wait 90 minutes to pay in cash, which would've caused me to miss my flight.

Chose Large car with "special" on Kayak was told I
Pros: The car was brand new and nice and the people at the counter seemed friendly and returning was really easy.
Cons: I picked/reserved a large car "special" but was told when I was picking up the car that I was only entitled to something the size of a smart car as that is what the special was for even though I had chosen from the large category. The lady at the counter gave me a discounted rate for an upgrade but it still doubled the cost and the car still was not as large as what I had originally reserved.

Cons: Cost of insurance is not calculated into total amount, and when asking receptionist if upgrade was only 24$ total more, overall bill ended up 150$ more than originally booked online. Planning to discuss with dollar.

they scammed me for $100
Pros: the car was nice
Cons: i declined the insurance because my auto insurance covers rentals. they charged me for it anyway and instead of paying around $50 for the weekend with my rental car, i now have to pay $175. DO NOT RENT FROM DOLLAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! go with another company. these people will SCAM you.

Cons: The walk to the to the car was a long walk. When I got there, the car smelled strongly like pot. The agent seemed ambivalent about the problem. I did revive a different car. Just be diligent about the residual smell.

Cons: The customer service woman at the pickup site was curt when dealing with me and the customer service woman on the phone lied to me. I ended up NOT renting a car with Dollar;I NEVER will rent a car with Dollar nor will I ever refer anyone to Dollar.

Pros: The car was in very good condition.
Cons: They added things onto my bill when I told them not to. Lucky for me and thanks to the new manager Mohamed they were taken off. Also the drop off point was far away from the airport entrance and it was raining. Needless to say I got soaked.

Horrible customer service and hidden fees
Cons: I arrived at the counter and was told that the cost would be 2x what was listed on Kayak and that the Allianz insurance I had purchased online through Kayak was not sufficient to rent the car. A $150 booking turned into $350. Last time I book a car through Kayak and last time I book Dollar.

Pros: THe car was nearly new. It was smaller than I expected, but it performed well and it was ready and clean when I picked it up.
Cons: The desk agent told me we should not return it before the planned return date because it would invalidate our rental rate. When we got back a day early I turned it in anyway and the rate was automatically adjusted, as it should have been. I was disappointed that the agent misled me.

Cons: Overpriced and hidden fees. My $200 rental ended up being $276!

The agent was hard selling insurance and upgrading
Cons: The agent was terrible! Obviously making commission on up-selling car size and insurance. Obnoxious.She even said "you won't like how small the car is when you see it!"

Not worth it.
Pros: Drop-off worker was nice
Cons: Pushy counter agent. Car smelled strongly of fast food hamburgers. Cost for Ford Fiesta for a 24 hr weekday rental? $53. Outrageous.

Pros: It was easy to rent on kayaks website.
Cons: The agent was rude and over charged us and did nothing to make me feel good as a customer. Her name was Anna. Her bad customer service makes me never wanna rent from Dollar again.

Cons: I never actually got the car. I went to pick it up and they tried to add in over 400 dollars in fees. They wanted to charge me about 700 dollars for one weeks rental. I will not be using Kayak again or Dollar. Kayak gave me a 250 dollar quote. It was obviously way off.

Great customer service!
Pros: The people who work here are very nice & divided great customer service.
Cons: They couldn't find the reservation I made through kayak.com & told me they were out of rentals. (Like - the excellent rep there found me a car & gave me the price I had it online for.)

Charged me double then quoted rate
Cons: When I arrived at the desk and showed them my reservation, they didn't want to honor it and told me they don't ahve the size car available for this rate. They forced me to take something larger and charged me $89 vs 43

Nice car, misleading online reservation, slow serv
Pros: The car was a good value.
Cons: There was a very long wait at the Dollar counter at Louisville airport (one hour for 4-5 customers). I had reserved a "Special" online because it was described as capable of holding five people and two suitcases. The lady at the counter was friendly, but told me I would need to upgrade to get something big enough. I needed the space for luggage, so I paid extra (she did offer some kind of discount) and choose a Corolla.
