Pros: I appreciated the quick service once I arrived. In addition, the car was in excellent condition.

Pros: I was able to choose a Camry which I love. Pick up and drop off were super fast.
Cons: The car was not clean; especially the windows so I had to wash it myself.

Cons: Check engine light was on and car ran like horrible. Transmission sounded like it was about to explode but I didn't have time to drive back to Hertz to get a different vehicle.

Pros: Pick up/drop off was relatively easy
Cons: Didn't get the car we reserved, or a similar car. Got a smaller one, which was NOT appreciated. We ordered and paid for the larger car for more than one reason. No one responded when we tried to call in with the complaint.

Got a free upgrade but with a caveat
Pros: Very helpful customer service staff upon arrival. Car was clean along with facility. I was given a free upgrade but not initially – read the next section.
Cons: The car allotted to me was not to be found when I searched the property outside after I was given the parking spot designation. Upon returning to the customer service area, the representative voluntarily gave me an upgraded vehicle.

My Hertz rental was the only thing good about my t
Pros: My Hertz rental was the only thing good about my trip. I booked the rental to drive from the airport to a funeral. I had a horrible experience with my flight but the Hertz team was helpful.

Customer service is not good
Pros: Took me over 30 mins to rent a car, we had atleast 15 people standing and only 2 counters. Surprised they asked me to pay additional 150$ p week for spouse with same last name which was rip off as spouse with same last name is automatically included. Vehicles at Detroit Hertz airport center do not have wide variety and ended up renting basic SUV paying almost 60$ per day. Very expensive.

Pros: good vehicle with great 4WD! No extra charge for us returning it 45 minutes past our return time.
Cons: They seemed short staffed at both pick-up and return which slowed us down. Plus there were "Hertz" fees that were an extra 50.00?

Pros: Car was clean and nice. The customer service was really good at the counter. Nice people and were friendly.
Cons: I did not like to wait 30 mins extra to get a car. This was maybe not their fault but not a fun time waiting. I did not like that there was not scraper or towel in the car to scrape off the snow and ice and clean off inside condensation. This should be a standard.

Excessive wait at pick-up
Cons: I picked my rental up at the Detroit Airport (DTW) on Sunday, 11/20 around 7pm. There was a short line to see an associate. The associate took my reservation information and then told me it was "processing" and I should wait in the lobby. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I walked back to the associate to ask for an update. She then walked over to another phone and called for my SUV. I got the impression that when it was "processing" she didn't make the call until I asked. The manger was in the lobby shortly after and made some jokes about the cold and how the SUV was parked in the middle of all these other sized cars and that no one listens to him to park the same sized vehicles together. He was friendly and apologetic but that didn't change the fact that we waited over 45 minutes for our car.

Cons: Bright headlights only worked while you were holding it. Also it seems like the headlights needed to be adjusted. The beam did not go out very far. Driving at night was not comfortable.

Pros: easy pick up and drop off. really great customer service.
Cons: Great car, but it was a gas guzzler. I expected to get a car that wasnt so fuel consumer. It was also expensive when I take into consideration the fuel I had to pump in.

Great service and overall quite happy
Pros: Staff was wonderful! Very courteous and helpful. The car drove nicely and was good on gas.
Cons: When reserving the car in the Kayak app, I chose an SUV. Upon pick up, I was told I'd reserved a Toyota RAV 4 which in my opinion is one of the smallest SUVs made - I actually thought it was a jeep. Thankfully the Hertz staff helped me upgrade to a Pathfinder which was quite comfortable for my entire family.

Good airport service
Pros: Rx pickup and transport to and from airport. EZ drop off procedure. Car was clean and overall no problems.
Cons: One small issue was that I prepaid the car online and thought it was paid in full. Discovered an additional $18 in taxes when I arrived. Would prefer to know all charges up front with no surprises later.

Interior of car was awful
Cons: The previous renter of my original car apparently used the center console compartment to spit his chewing tobacco into. After driving for about 30 mins, I could not understand where this awful smell was coming from. I then opened up the compartment and WHEW, the stink was horrendous! I was supposed to pick up clients to go to dinner but there was no way I could with this car. I then had to drive one hour each way to switch cars! Can't believe this happened with Hertz!

Pros: The automated system when calling was convenient and had a lot of options
Cons: The bad thing about the automated system is it seemed almost impossible to speak to a real person I had a simple question that the automated system was not able to answer it took me about 4 hours three phone calls and maybe 3 days to actually get a actual person to answer a simple question which took them three minutes to answer answer for me maybe having the option to speak to a real person in the beginning menu should be a thing although your automated call system has a lot of options to choose from from Renton to drop it off at a different location and all other things some people just like to speak to a real person I believe giving them that option will set you ahead of the competition
