Pros: Wonderful, low gas mileage, not a problem and easy to pick up & drop off

DON'T LEAVE YOUR ITEM
Cons: I didn't like when I left my item in the car. They didn't pick up my phone calls. When they did it was four days past. They can't find my item so I'm going to have to go there and look for it for it myself.

Cons: They messed up my reservation then didn't even have a car for me. Horrible experience and bad customer service!

Good experience with Hertz
Pros: Car drove easily, rode smoothly. Nice size trunk.
Cons: Seat. It has caused a fairly big ach in my lower back

Convenient, fast, and friendly
Pros: Loved that the pickup area was onsite at the airport. Maybe because of the time I got there, there was no waiting. Checkout was prompt, easy, and staff was friendly and helpful. I liked that I did not have to document every single scratch or dent on the car before I left. I like that cars are equipped with toll sensors so that if I accidentally get on to a toll road, although I will have to pay the toll, there's no additional penalty/fees. I was given XM radio free of charge and that just put the icing on the cake. Very happy!

Feel I got screwed
Pros: Car was new, that was nice
Cons: Had extra charges, I wasn't expecting when I got there. I had shopped for best price and paid in advance. When I got there, I owed $46 more dollars. The guy basically said that's just the way it is. He asked me if I was dropping at different location. I said, No. I am dropping right here at airport, like the reservation says. He still charged me a $14.99 Inner City Fee. I was able to get that back after making 2 phone calls and wasting 30 minutes of my time. I told him, what good does it do me to shop best price, is you are going to surprise me with extra fees. I probably rent a car 10-12 times a year. I just go with best price. I have NEVER had this happen before. If this is Hertz way of sucking in a customer, i will no longer rent from Hertz. By the way, i was left on hold with customer service for 12 minutes. Hertz treats their paying customers terrible.

Car was fine but experience with the counter rep wasn't worth it.
Pros: Car was fine and as advertised but experience with the counter rep soiled the entire experience.
Cons: Herz changed the rate that I had prepaid online once I got to the ticket counter. Nothing I could do but accept. Agent acted like I was an idiot for arguing that they should honor the rate. Will avoid Herz in the future.

Useless Gold Membership & Scammy Add-Ons
Pros: The employee was very kind and helpful. The car was also very new, which was nice. Though it didn't handle all that well.
Cons: I can't even remember the last time the Gold membership system actually worked. You're supposed to just log-in to the app and see which car is yours, but instead, I waited in line for almost an hour after arriving at 1 am to get the car. Such a waste of time. Secondly, their "competitive" gas prices must be in comparison to NYC gas prices or something. They advertised $2.12/gallon at the desk, but I was charged $2.65/gallon PLUS more airport tax blah blah blah. Complete racket. I had given up on Hertz in the past because they would try to add scammy charges (i.e. like pet cleaning fees when I never had any pets in the car). The problem is that the rest of the rental options aren't great either. I recommend you stick to Uber/Lyft as much as you can! Forget these companies.

Pros: They ripped me off, once I got to the airport, they said the car lot was on the other side of Indapolis. Then they claimed the only car they had was 4 times more expensive than the original quote. I got screwed!!!!

Flight canceled,couldn't cancel car, poor customer service
Cons: My flight was canceled by the airline the morning of the flight. I called hertz and they told me to call kayak. Went in a circle. Got a hold of hertz and they didn't understand and didn't respond to my question about a refund since I prepaid. I repeated it. Nothing. Got a thank you and goodbye. Paid $136 for a less than ideal experience. I thought Hertz was The Rental Company. changed my mind.

Worst Car Rental Experience Ever!
Pros: Not much -very disappointing I was happy it didn't break down; the counter rep was nice.
Cons: Where do I start? 1. Beat up car 2. Tires were to the wear tread line 3. Was told this is all we have due to a special event 4. Outside of the car beat-up not what I paid for to have to ride in a beat up vehicle. 5. Not worth the $200 for the five days I needed it 6. Inside of car was dusty - more than normal 7. Overall Hertz I was very disappointed - but it did run

Pros: Showed up to get my car and they told me they didn't have anymore cars... Mad a reservation 48-24 hours in advance and called to confirm my reservation... And still some how when I went to get my car they didn't have one for me

Long Wait Time for Pickup
Pros: The people there were friendly and apologetic when things weren't going well.
Cons: I had to wait over 30 minutes to get my car, even though I was served immediately when I got there. One wrong push of a button by an employee, and they had to get the problem fixed by someone in another city. I was ready to start on my 5 hour trip, and the wait was irritating.

Pros: Clean car.
Cons: Hertz is WAY overpriced. I will NEVER rent from them again. They cut costs by not employing enough costumer service reps to attend to customers for check out. Time is money, and I do not have the time to wait 2 hrs after I get to an airport for an overpriced rental. They don't flex their pricing and you can generally expect to pay over 25% additional costs in fees and taxes (not included in the agreed costs). My bill was $280 and I paid $382 with no added insurance... over $100 in taxes & fees! Overall: UNSATISFACTORY.
