Location, nice bath Dirty and stained carpet in room 246
Grassy area for dogs warm pool Bedding was nice on-site restaurant was convenient DVR was a great plus Shower was too high, and couldn't get the water hot enough Carpet needed cleaning had to keep dogs on leash- rather have it fenced Can't enjoy the pool- no place to leave the dogs- maybe a couple kennels for a quick dip? With a treat my dogs would be happy for a bit.
I liked that it is a pet friendly hotel with a beautiful pool. The staff was friendly and able to accommodate my family The cleanliness of the grounds could be better. A guest got sick in the lawn area and it was never properly cleaned up.
We loved the pool area and although the restaurant/bar wasn't open yet, that will be a nice bonus later. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly. Tiki decor was cute Our room was pretty run down although you could see it was partially updated. I would have preferred to be upstairs I think and not so close to all the main traffic walking by
New flat screen t.v.s Price is right.
Nothing to like. It didn't look like anything advertised on the website. The pool is surrounded by the parking lot. There are no towels at the pool. We didn't even check in, but left after 10 minutes and moved to a different hotel.
The staff were incredibly friendly (really-- some of the friendliest service I have ever had), they had free on demand tv, and the pool facilities are very nice.
Tiki feel and vibe are great. Friendly staff. Rooms need updating.
Warm Pool, Park near the door, fridge, late hours for Jacuzzi and swimming pool Uncomfortable mattress, vending machines are not 24 hours
Ressa was very kind and professional. It was a very quick stay but enjoyed the pool at night
My daughter and I found the hotel online, read the reviews and decided to try the Caliente. It worked out perfectly! The room was great, the beds were fine, lovely large shower; we were very pleased with the room. We loved the pool and the hot tub, altogether I highly recommend the hotel. On our second night, for some reason, neither the jets nor lights were functioning in the hot tub. The next day they were. In the afternoon while lounging around the pool with our books, we found the music distractingly loud, however the volume was lowered as soon as we requested it. Shower water pressure was a little light.
The room decor was lovely. Very suitable for the desert. Excellent design elements. As bad as this sounds, but the overload of children in the pool. Ace is more young hip crowd & kids aren't relaxing to be around.
Always a good time We come every August - and this is probably our 5th or 6th time. While its always a fun time, the hotel could stand to update itself a bit. Everything is exactly the same and the wear and tear is beginning to show. I'm getting a little bored.
I thought the drinks and food were wonderful and the staff was very accommodating. The room was fine. Overall, this place needs a ton of work. I know they are trying to be "hip" but it was just too dingy and unkempt. The cloth face "tents" on the lounge chairs were old, tattered and ripped. The wooden signage around the pool was weathered and cracked. Even the "pool toys" looked very old and worn out. The property sponsored a pool side party that went all day and into the night which made parking for guests a big pain. And the DJ had difficulty setting up his equipment so the guests were treated to LOUD speaker hissing, humming and other noises until the equipment was fixed. There are definitely nicer places in the area that are cheaper. Didn't hate my stay but nothing would draw me back to stay there again.
It was wonderful!!!!
Restaurant and bar Pool! Spa Towels Beds, Room furniture was uncomfortable Lacking room for luggage
very small room, bathroom could have been a little cleaner
The selections of fine linens and toiletries, the location, the cocktails... The noise... The lack of a black out curtain on an east facing window instead using a white piece of canvas... Oh and that they had stopped serving the grits at the restaurant
We hosted the taco party on a patio and they did a wonderful job accommodating us in every way. The staff was helpful and pleasant whenever we needed anything and everyone was always friendly. The bedroom door was really heavy and slammed easily.
The rooms were funky (loved putting on the record player) Too much of a rave-vibe. Great place for a college kids, not so great for 30-40 somethings (and an absolute "avoid" for anyone older). Loud pool-parties from 12pm-2am + rooms that really aren't sound-proof, don't mix. Bartenders had that typical annoyed attitude of bar tending in a night-club, not the typical service-oriented demeanor one expects in a hotel. Food was either great or gross.
This was my first time in Palm Springs and thankfully my experience was a positive one. The entire staff is super friendly and VERY helpful. They have bicycles that you may borrow to ride around town. They also have a water yoga class, which we took advantage of, and a meditation class. Overall, our stay was pleasant and relaxing. Overpriced pool drinks :( Hopefully they don't increase once the entire hotel is up and running. Also, it's a little noisy, not the hotel's fault, but if you're trying to sleep in, will probably not happen. They let dogs stay in the hotel, I don't like that either. I am not a pet owner and I like to get away to get away from my noisy, dog barking 24/7 neighborhood for some barking peace and quiet. While there was not excessive barking, I was awakened by a large dog's bark. :(
My Fiancé and I had a wonderful 2 night stay at V Palm Spring, March 13 - 15. The staff, from reception to Elixir (the pool bar) to housekeeping were wonderful. Bruce at Elixir deserves a special mention for his passion for mucilage ans terrific customer service. Try the Small Sombrero and Bloody Mary/Maria.
Main pool area, staff friendliness, bar by pool, good concept and should be a nice place once completed. Nostalgic. Under construction, unorganized, trying to do too much all at once. Toilet and shower issues, had to move rooms, they did upgrade us for the hassle.
The staff was excellent. Nice modern lobby. Upgraded older hotel. I believe pets are allowed here. There was dog feces on the walkway but staff cleaned once they were made aware of it. There was also broken glass on the stairs. The parking was limited.
The V Palms Springs Hotel was a great experience. Everyone was more than helpful, cool room decor and had a DJ for the 10-5 frame. Will definitely stay there again.
We loved everything about this hotel. The beds were one of the best beds I've ever slept on while traveling. The pool area is intimate and great DJ. The drinks and food were over priced for what it was. They told us they would call when our room was ready but we never got a call and had to follow up ourselves. They ran out of towels at the pool.
Beautiful modern room, USB ports, cement floor (no carpet), cushy bed with down comforter, cozy terry robes, private patio (a bit austere), central pool and fire pit. Comfy outdoor seating with a great view of the mountains. Interesting bar food, reasonably priced and e exulted adequately. Very friendly, accommodating staff. Techno music piped loud til 10pm. No sign outside, hard to find in the daytime, there's a dogleg turn to make off the main road to get into the parking lot. A big V lights up at night, easier to see. Full restaurant isn't open yet. Watch out for extra resort fee on booking. Mine was all included in the kayak and getaroom rates, but I've seen other complaints.
Loved our stay and enjoyed the modern appearance and design of the grounds and rooms. Fabulous pool and lounging area with bar and fire pit. Excellent service received from all the staff. Would recommend! Nothing!
The staff made it more than worth it. Very clean, good food and drinks. Useless gym
Room was very modern and clean. Lots of comfortable seating around pool. Room was small. Listed bikes for loan weren't available.
Location and facilities, price reduction promotion. Cute style for an old&small size room. Nice bathroom with direct outside light. They have night lamps that are high and heavy given that is an earthquake zone that can topple and hurt the bed occupants. The large pool water temperature was a bit to chilly for December.
Formerly Howard Johnsons. Remodeled and rebranded. Not much of a change from before. Pool and patio furniture by lobby are nice. Second pool could use some landscaping. Great location. Good parking.
The air condition in the room was woefully inadequate.
Just needed a place to sleep so didn't use the room as much but overall nice, clean space with enough room for my husband and I. I'd stay there again. Not sure who's at fault but when I got to the place they said our room wasn't booked. Had our conformation # and got the room but then saw right now I was charged twice and have a negative balance on my account. Hesitant from booking from this site if this is going to be a problem. :/
Loved the complementary breakfast. Nice mountain view! Value
She was polite when I asked her I wouldn't be staying the 2nd night. You can't control the AC, it got very hot and humid in the room. Couldn't sleep, asked for a different room but the other room was just the same. Also found an old rotten apple under the bed, it was white like it had been under there for a while. Was gross, shows they don't thoroughly cleaned the room. Changed hotels the 2nd night, couldn't handle sleeping in that hotel again. Still waiting for my refund for the second night.
Great price for a good location. Shower wasn't as clean as i would have hoped..
Continental breakfast The massive bug i had to get outta my room that was hiding under my pillow.
Loved the friendly staff. The breakfast. The pool and jacuzzi
Close to everything, good location Pool open til 11pm Fridge and microwave In room coffee Gave me complimentary late checkout Very noisy, rooms have very thin walls Pillows are too small Bathroom is small, shower head is too low and difficult for tall people TV needs to be elevated Some outlets don;t work
Good location because it was close enough to everything. Customer service was good. Room had a mini fridge and microwave which was great. Breakfast was good. There was a decent selection available from waffles, bagels, toast to something light like oatmeal and cereal. Lots of loud bugs flying outside our room so it was uncomfortable to want to leave the room (one even came in our room at one point). There was also a cockroach on the tv. The tv was so outdated even though they had cable; there was static and you couldn't see much.
Clean, comfortable I was ok with everything until a roach crawled out of the bed side table drawer.
Location and breakfast. Terrible A/C, Shower water pressure was practically zero, and no security around when my female friend was harassed by some old jerk who followed her to the room and knocking on the door.
The location and the staff were great The AC in the rooms barley worked, the beds were rock hard, and we found roaches in our room. Also the pool felt as if it was the same temp as the sauna.
Great small newly redone hotel. Great friendly staff. If you want something very small, and very quiet. I would definitely stay there again.
This place was great. Clean, good AC, had a fridge in the room. No cable tv that i was able to get working but I didn't really need it. Nice, Clean Pool available 24hrs. Friendly check in staff. I was very pleased with this place for the price. Would stay again. No Cable TV An email, txt or call would have been appreciated to let me know about the gate code... areiving to a locked door is a littke off putting when you're bot expecting it... what if my phone battery had died... maybe a call box by the door... i had to inform other arriving guests of the code as well... i appreciate the safety but there's some room for improvement here
I decided to make a pit stop in Palm Spings after moving out of Los Angeles. By myself during Thanksgiving, I was worried that I'd feel lonely. That was not the case. Everyone was so friendly and attitudes were checked at the door. I came not feeling good about myself and my body. I left feeling reenergized and sassy. Great people, wonderful beds, excellent pools. Thanks! I want to make this an annual thing. Nothing
Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, hot tub, steam room and pools are well maintained. And super comfy beds. Big thumbs up for this resort! I'd love to see more variety at breakfast - but I also love eating out in PS so not a biggie for m .
For a budget hotel it was a great service with friendly staff who didnt mind us checking in after 7pm, plenty of free parking and a nice looking pool in the middle of the courtyard. Tho unfortunately we didn't get to go in the pool as we were only there for 1 night its a great place to stop if you are on your way somewhere (we were going to Coachella Festival the next day), on a budget or for a weekend away. Room was quite basic, but you get what you pay for.
All I wanted was a clean bedroom and bathroom. That's what I got and all I was charged for. The bathroom would have been better with a shaving mirror.
Staff immediately accommodating to every request, friendly and professional. Completely unpretentious. Beautiful grounds. And great location.
the proximity to attractions
Service was outstanding. As long as the room has a good air- conditioner, comfortable bed and workable bathroom I am easy to please. However, a great staff is an extra and your hotel was outstanding in terms of service. Perhaps, new beds at some point. Everything was very clean, but it wasn't like my bed at home.
Central location and quiet area Loud airconditioning and basic bathroom
Close proximity to downtown / city center area. Needs to be cleaned / new furniture / furniture was worn, paint chips on windows / windows w/ out screens, blinds in poor working order.
This is a clean, well maintained motel in a very convenient location. The rooms are large. They are back from the street and so quiet. The beds are comfortable. The staff is concerned and helpful. This is good value for what it is. Room furniture is rather dated. The pool is decent but not in a very atmospheric setting - a shame in this beautiful desert location. That's all I could quibble with.
in agood position, souless hote lStaff dont bother to speak to you.. Reception-wait for rooms when you can tell its only 25% full
I was very impressed with having a room with a king bed, private balcony overlooking the mountains, fridge and microwave, free continental breakfast, free WiFi, a good location, free parking ... all for under $75/night. It's only two miles to the main PS strip, so that's not bad, and it's on a semi-main street so the traffic is very moderate. I would definitely stay here again.
Easy to get to downtown. Nice pool. Stunning view--I like that the best. Friendly staff. The breakfast is modest but adequate--cold cereal, fruit, and donuts
Very spacious room, nice swimming pool, breakfast was basic but okay
Free breakfast with stay. Leak in tub faucet
Hotel was quiet and staff helpful and friendly! The cleanliness of carpet basically just the middle of carpet had been vacuumed edges and closer to the wall was dirty! Grout around tub needed to be replaced or mildew removed.
Beautiful location, friendly staff, felt safe LOUD air conditioner. It turns off and on constantly. Impossible sleep! Had to shower on my knees.
The room is totally dark! Great for sleeping! Very quiet! The staff is very helpful! This is the second time we have stayed here in a week due to a death in the family. The cleanliness of the room on our second stay is much better.
It was great for the price. Clean room in a good location minutes from downtown. Didn't take advantage of the amenities because we were spending time at another hotel for a wedding. Nothing. Free breakfast wasn't much but it's a budget hotel so don't expect 5-star amenities.
that it was quite, clean.had a freg and a microwave was a plus when i book I requested a room overlooking the pool area, did not get this why?
I liked the wonderful breakfast with fresh baking, cereal, fresh fruit, etc. along with a very friendly staff. The shower was a bit temperamental. It could suddenly run very hot making it quite dangerous.
If you want a basic non fancy place to stay it meets your needs. We would stay again! Clean comfortable room floor level with a walk out backyard was nice! Basic breakfast included with cereal, toast waffles etc. worth the price.
Good Value, not far from the action. Bathroom Toilet kept running whole stay, not conducive to good night sleep. Breakfast was mediocre.
The hotel is pet friendly, and my room was super clean and modern. Loved the wood floors. The location is set in the perfect location, easy access to all the tourist offering but still secluded enough from the hustle and bustle. The pool is small but it is clean and simple, breakfast served at the pool was also very nice. The outlets are also usb compatible, which was a nice addition. The staff was also super friendly and accommodating. The fridge was a little outdated so it was a little distracting at times, my room was right by the pool and stairway so it wasn't too private, but nothing more than standard city noise. The faucet on the sink wasn't adhered correctly so it moved when I used it and the hot water in the shower was not consistent and hard to figure out. Those were just minor cosmetics though, taking everything else into account, this is a great location, and a nice hotel, I would stay again for sure
Quite neighbourhood Good looking lobby area but the rest of the hotel is in very poor shape (lipstick on a pig). The worst Hotel/Motel I've ever stayed in. Should be renamed to "worst western" instead -DON'T BE FOOLED by all the positive reviews, these are probably just hotel people posting fake reviews. I sure was fooled by them and landed in this filthy place. - FAT BED BUGS in room and now after getting back home (after 5+hrs drive) we are cleaning everything we carried into the room. - Toilet seat too small and space too congested for most adults to sit on - Broken toilet seat - Severe Plumbing problems, toilet rarely flushed properly in one go (was choking). Wash Basin was contantly getting choked for entire duration of trip. Someone next doors also seems to have got flooded - Broken bathroom door lock and latch, won't close and if closed won't open, part of the latch was hanging for the entire duration of trip and no one bothered to fix it - Shower knob severely jammed and needed full stength of a adult male to pull - Mattresss with deep valleys; very old and sunk in. - Tiny space for closet and Micro/Fridge, barely fit one person. - Only 3 or 4 decent towels, the rest were clothes used for wiping floors being given as towels for wiping face - Worst house keeping I've seen food and utensils that was dropped on the floor by mistake never got picked up. No vacuming (even when stayed for 4 nights) - Breakfast being served in open by the pool on chilling 35 degrees freezing mornings ! - very few parking spots, so if u get into hotel after 7.30pm prepare to walk a fair distanc to your room - Filthy enviornment, old people having sex and roaming naked in rooms with their curtains open, visible even to young children. - Probably dangerous place - On first night cops were seen multiple times on hotel premises trying to catch someone in or outside the hotel. - Rude front desk staff
Perfect little spot to call home base during our brief stay. We really liked the pool area.
Staff was responsive to our request to switch rooms. The second room was still humid but not as bad. The room was incredibly humid and the air conditioning did not seem to help. The bathrooms were poorly kept and fixtures were old.
Free WiFi and breakfast, pool open late
Beautiful setting Air conditioner was controlled remotely! Could not adjust and it turned off at eleven in the evening not to be turned on till 8:00 AM the next morning! Spent a very hot and restless night tossing and turning. Not relaxing at all when it was over 80 degrees in the room! Will not return!
Excellent staff and very clean rooms.
no elevator slowest internet west of the rockies so so slow that almost impossible to do much work slow wifi internet
I liked not being at the hotel. The shower pan literally had holes in it where you could fall through. They didn't replace towels. The bed may have had bed bugs. The TV does not have basic cable channels like ESPN. The continental breakfast was locked down whenever I went to get breakfast, first attempt was at 630am, second at 730am, I gave up. The outlets don't all provide power. The wifi indicates you are online but is slower than dialup technology from the 1980s. This was literally the worst hotel I've ever stayed in...the only reason I stayed was because everywhere else was sold out. Don't stay at this hotel...especially not room 112
The second room I was in was large, had a comfortable bed and a seating area with a sofa to relax in. There was a fridge, but no microwave. It took 4 attempts to get me a room with a working door. The first room tried 3 times with keys that wouldn't open the door. The housekeeping staff tried to let me in with the passkey, and even that was giving her trouble. We also couldn't close the door from the outside. Once in the room, I would be trapped there without a key to let me back in. After a few hours, they finally settled me into a second room. It advertises free wifi in every room. My new room was literatlly next to the office and I was unable to access wifi for most of my trip. If I lay a certain way on the bed and hold my laptop just so... it might connect for a bit. It advertises free breakfast every morning. Breakfast was toast and coffee. For a few dollars more per night, one could stay at a Motel 6 or a Travelodge chain that has certain standards of cleanliness and basics provided.
Beds were comfortable. Great locations, close to many things. Staff was really nice Old tvs, not many channels to choose from. No microwaves.
Not 5 star resort but the manager and staff made you feel that way! Largest hot tub I've ever seen! Older place but again staff were awesome!
Relatively cheap. Decently clean, not extremely horrible, but not pristinely clean. The office closes at 10:00 PM. You would think they were operating a restaurant and not a hotel with those hours.
just was very awesome, loved the hot tub ,and rooms pillows
good free parking. comfortable bed, nice continental style free breakfast door was A LITTLE TIGHT TO OPEN probably a little wd 40 would help
