Great rental experience
Pros: This was my first time to rent a car and it was a great experience! The staff were friendly and helpful, the car was new and perfect. Thank you Sixt car rental!

Bait & Switch
Cons: This company pulled a "bait & switch" on me related to rental car pickup Location. Wanted to charge me a $50 fee for the system error. Sixt blamed it on Expedia. I filed a formal complaint which resulted in them offering to reduce the penalty to $25. Still 100% unacceptable. I will never do business here again if they insist on assessing this fee.

All worked great
Pros: We had a great experience renting with SIXT. Even got upgraded at no additional cost. Everyone was super helpful and accommodating.

Pros: It was big enough to fit my family.
Cons: The van at first sight looked nice but it had several scratches and worn out inside. We looked passed it since we had entough room for all 5 passengers. As we were coming back from our Arizona to LA trip the back passenger tire got flat. We were 1 hour into our trip back and had about 5 hours to go. I called AAA and they got to me 2 hours later just hear that they couldn't help me since the spare tire was missing peaces and they couldn't put it on. I called the sixt rental number and they took over 5 minutes to pick up to have them tell me that they couldn't get a rental till the next day. At this point I was pretty upset since I had a toddler and 2 other kids in the car. The guy over the phone worked his best and got someone to us but it wasn't until 5 hours later. Our trip should of taken 6 hours not 12 hours. How can you rent a car that has a spare and have peaces missing?

Cons: This was listed as a local rental for LAX but there's no shuttle service to this location. Otherwise a great experience.

Pros: Good rate and good service from staff.
Cons: I reserved the car for the Los Angeles area - I thought it was the airport location but it was Venice Beach location - so I had to get a cab from LAX instead of being able to take the shuttle. I had to add air to one of the car's tires each day - it must have had a slow leak. I called the road side maintenance number and they said bring it back but I was 60 miles away so I just put air in it every day for the week I had the car.

Too long to get car
Pros: Got an upgrade for free since they were out of cars The checkout staff were extremely nice
Cons: The wait in line for the shuttle and then to get a car was outrageous

Cons: Terrible service, I had to ask for my money back and it was not easy. The LA Sixt by the airport is the worst rental car company and I will never use this company ever again. I am telling everyone I know not to ever use this company. Horrible. Boycott

Pros: Convenient shuttle from LAX, friendly and helpful service people.
Cons: Just a note...back seat of the Metris isn't very comfortable. Our biggest complaint is VERY important. We were provided a vehicle that was UNSAFE. It obviously hadn't had it's rear tires inspected in quite some time. When the right rear tire started leaking air (we could hear it when we parked), we found not a puncture, but instead we found that the inside tread had worn down to the steel belts!! We had been driving this vehicle at high freeway speeds all day, and a blowout could have been catastrophic to passengers. Frankly, I don't see how SixT could have avoided paying significant liability claims for renting an obviously unsafe vehicle and putting it's customers at risk of serious injury. I strongly recommend that you add a thorough safety tread-check to your checklist for each vehicle prior to each rental.

Great SUV for Successful visit to Sequia National
Pros: Excellent help from shuttle driver to drop us off at Rennasance Hotel location fro LAX. GREAT employee initiative to make it work.
Cons: Some confusion around the hours of the two LAX pickup locations, b u everything worked perfectly and we did not lose any time.

Pros: Good price for a mini van for a week. For an offsite office it was easy enough to get to by city bus. I would probably consider renting from the Venice office again.
Cons: Didn't realize it was offsite of LAX at Venice beach until I was already there. I also made the reservation for a 7pm pickup but the office in Venice closes at 7pm so my flight was a little late and I missed pickup on first night. Had to pick it up the following day. I rode the city bus from and back to LAX and that was easy enough and cost only $1.25

Cons: The car had an electrical malfunction on the remote key, which the robbers were able to break in the car and walk away with our stuff. Contacted Sixt, they assigned a claim number, and still no response. At the end, they didn't reimbursed me for my loss.

Pros: The shuttle driver was very nice & understanding
Cons: The employee really could care less about your problem first of all I was standing in the rain & cold for a 1/2 Got there and they told me the car was rented for pick up at there Venice office I asked if we could transfer it to this one and they said no... how far is it? 1/2 hour can I get a taxi ... you could but they are closed now... it was 7:05... what time did they close... 7.... they said I could rent from them but they have expensive airport prices. OK How much? A thousand? 700? I was kidding well kid you not my weekly rental that I made just changed from 167. To 430.... but they ciuld give me a discount of$25.... NO THANK YOU... I was not about yo govr them the satisfaction and taking advantage of a stranded traveler. I asked them to shuttle me back to the airport. On the way back to the airport the shuttle driver asked me why I was going back... so I told him... his comment was ... the Venice office isn't closed.... well by that time I swore I would I would NEVER Rent from SIXT... the people working there should be ashamed of them selves!!!!

Don't trust what is sold to you
Pros: Pick up and drop off was quick, easy, and the staff was nice and personable.
Cons: Reserved a premium SUV using Kayak. However that is not I was given. Kayak failed to mention requirements and policies that Sixt has and alowed me to rent a premium SUV using the site. However when I arrived they informed me that I couldn't rent that vehicle and the only vehicles I could rent were a Toyota Camry and a Christler 300. Not a big deal I was a little bothered but I understood. Until they told me it would cost me almost $80 more than my price for the advertised Mercedes or similar SUV I had originally reserved. I'm getting angrier but the staff was nice and I'm not one to make a scene. I get the Toyota Camery and it's a bit on the rough side. Seats stained and dirty along with the floors and dash/console. On top of all that Sixt told me there's nothing they could do and something I'd have to take up with Kayak

Not bad but could have been much better
Pros: Good customer service, prices, and availability of rental cars. Nice establishment and I was glad to be able to drop off 500 miles away.
Cons: Having to wait 15 minutes to pick up the car, which had 21 scratches and dents to wade through.

Not the first place I will be looking for rentals
Pros: Clean offices, clean cars
Cons: To start with the shuttle service from LAX to Car rental service took almost 45 minutes to ARRIVE. The phone service is not manned and asks you to follow the movement of the shuttles on a website - really ??? Second they were out of cars that were pre-booked. So is it bad logistical planning or their modus operandi to bait with reasonable booking charges and switching to more expensive classes ???? Had to upgrade for an additional $150 for the trip. Third the car was provided with 1/2 tank of gas (4/8 as listed on the contract) and was returned with 5/8 tank. Inspite of this, the company charged me $55 refuelling charge on the reciept, which they immediately took off as an error when I called them up - so if you don't watch your charges, they will try to slide fake ones in the hope that you dont call them out. As I said above this company will definitely not be my top choice in the future to rent cars

Let down at Sixt LAX
Pros: Pick up van arrived quickly - and was very clean. Although car rented wasn't car I requested , it was very comfortable.
Cons: Check in process seemed disorganized, inefficient and took 30 minutes - plus another 15 minutes waiting for car to be washed. Lots of staff in check-in area standing around The type if car rented wasn't available and there was only one type of car available. Staff didn't go out of their way to assist with our concerns/questions.

Bait and switch
Pros: Reserved a Mercedes "SUV" and was given a BMW 3 series sedan. The lady at the desk exclaimed that it was an "upgrade!"

Cons: They had prepaid fuel on the invoice that wasn't explained clearly, I filled up the car when I returned it and they tried to charge me full tank of gas , I had to try hard calling their company . If u don't pay attention they will charge u the gas u filled .

Good car, Bad Shuttle
Pros: Car was great, pickup and drop off was easy.

Pros: The car was d cent though not the car I reserved
Cons: The shuttle took me to the main rental location and after waiting for about 45 minutes I was told the car was at another location so I had to uber over there instead. There was no line there at all

Pros: Car was amazing, price was great. We got exactly what we wanted at the price we expected. There was no wait to pick up and drop off was easy.
Cons: Everything was perfect. Best experience I have had renting a car.
