Decently priced rental in LAX
Pros: The value of this rental was the best part! We had no issues with the car, the service was good, and it was the best price we found in LA.
Cons: The worst part was the shuttle. It was not clear when I booked the car that I would need to take a shuttle to the Westin. The Westin shuttle was not running very often and we waited quite a while (and considered a cab). But the return worked out and the shuttle was just arriving as we were.

Pros: The car rental went through without any hitches, and it was the best value for the money.
Cons: The rental process was far more complicated than necessary. I had never been advised that to rent a car, I had to take a hotel shuttle to a hotel where the Nu Car rental was located. Although I had a reservation, nothing was prepared, and took a while as all the papers were prepared and printed, and then the car was checked for any minute damage.

NU IS NOW FAST TRACK
Pros: NO MAJOR HASSLES. CAR DROVE FINE AFTER FOUL ODOR DISSIPATED FROM A/C
Cons: RUDE MANAGER AT WESTIN COUNTER PICKUP; $500 SECURITY DEPOSIT WAS TWICE WHAT HERTZ, AVIS OR EVEN HOTELS HOLD ON CREDIT CARDS; GAS WAS 3/4 FULL ON PICKUP, HARD TO JUDGE WHERE EXACTLY THE NEEDLE BELONGS UPON RETURN.

Pros: I like the reasonable price of the rental. NU is best by far, you beat all the competition.
Cons: Car is reasonably clean inside out but the smell of cigarette need to go away or at least after vacuuming the inside put an air freshener. Wipe all the windows and mirrors so we can see the traffic at night.

Avoid Nu Car Rental!!
Cons: Crappy location, unhelpful employees, long line to get the car, they had to take photos of every aspect of the car before I took it so clearly they want to nickel and dime you for everything, the car interior was filthy, the front tires were completely bald (thank god I didn't hit rain), and the best part, it came with 3/8 full tank of gas. I asked the attendant why it wasn't full, he said I just had to return it with 3/8 tank full. How does one accomplish that? Why not just return it filled? I told him that's ridiculous, and then he just said the car gets 20 MPG and that I should be able to figure it out. All in all this operation is trash, the cars are trash, and it's not worth the insignificant dollar savings to rent from here. Go with an established brand, such as Avis or Hertz. NEVER. AGAIN.

Cons: I asked to extend the use of the car for 2 additional hours and was charge $52 dollars on a rental that was originally $23.

Don't be in a rush
Pros: From landing to actually In car was almost 2 hours! Took for ever for shuttle to arrive, then pick up of car was s nightmare! Seem very incompetent workers!

Pros: the person had no economy cars and gave me a bigger car saying it would cost the same but that did not prove true when I got the bill.ing everything was great with the carpet the garages poorly marked to find NUcar and when dropping it off took me 15 minutes the go in and find the drop spot and it was probably necessarily added to my bill. in all I paid $200 dollars more than Iwas suppose to bringing the bill to over $500'00. Cons: when I dropped the car off. i didn't get a receipt and the bill was much higher than quoted.

Pros: Very competitive price. Pickup and drop off were super easy (especially compared with other car rental companies).
Cons: Additional signage would be helpful. Especially where to return cars and how to get into the desk in the Westin lobby.

Great service.....great car!
Pros: The rental process was a breeze...professional and polite representative. The location couldn't have been better. We had to take a shuttle to and from the airport. But the wait either end was less than ten minutes! I would recommend this company to all my friends! It was nice not having to fight the airport traffic.

Is this a real company?
Pros: Literally nothing
Cons: I called them when I landed and I was informed that they did not have the car I reserved. I was told me they had arranged with Sixt car rental another car for me for the same price. The location that they sent me had already closed hours before so I had to take a cab to a different location. However, they did not have a car reserved for me and the only cars they have were double the price that I had agreed on. When trying to call NU, I was unable to speak with anyone. Just a very poor experience all around and I will never be using them again and will likely not be using Kayak if I can avoid it.

They Won't Care About You
Pros: The car was nice.
Cons: The customer service was terrible. Horrible attitudes. Focussed more on making an extra $25/day, than earning the business of repeat customers. I made a reservation after we landed at LAX. The choice was based on price of car, proximity to airport, and that it was in the lobby of the Westin, which I thought was reliable. We waited for the shuttle (35 minutes), then waited in line for the rental desk in the lobby of the hotel (35-40 minutes). They ran out of cars two people ahead of me and there were arguments happening with every agent at the counter. When I arrived to the front of the line, the agent says, "Oh, do you still need a car? We don't have any full size cars for your family." So I ask if we can have one of the upgrade cars. "No the manager is the only person who can authorize an upgrade and he isn't here today and we can't call him. But you can pay $25/day extra for an upgrade car." Can I speak to the person who is in charge today? "That's me." Finally another agent arrived and tried to take control of the situation. He called another location and had them drive a car over for us. So we waited about 30 minutes more for a full size car.

Pros: Pleasant service
Cons: They don't tell u the rental car is in hotel and u need to take hotel shuttle; shuttle wait was very long - terrible; they say every 15 min but it was 45 min to an hour The car did not have blue tooth speaker

Pros: The car was fine as were the folks working there
Cons: Hidden costs. Requiring patrons to pay for "minimum insurance" that made it no longer competitive price wise. Of course by that point you've taken a shuttle out to their off location site at the hotel...

Pros: Great price and fast processing on rental and drop off. Nice staff.
Cons: It was tricky to figure out how to get to the car rental office, which is located in the Westin Hotel lobby. You need to take the Westin Hotel shuttle from the airport, which we did not figure out until waiting 20 minutes for a car rental shuttle and then calling the number of the company which an outgoing message addresses it right away.

Pros: Sorry not a good experience
Cons: Very confusing/disrespectful/misleading from begining to (specially) the end Zero concern for customers service or time Very uncomfortable , felt more like a interrogation session every step of the way till the car is released, guilty till proven innocent . "NEVER AGAIN"

Ripped off at Counter which more than tripled the
Pros: Returned item left in vehicle. Most rental companies keep, steal or throw away.
Cons: They searched and returned my lost item. Returned my phone call promptly and was very attentive to my needs. Did not like how person at pick up spot wanted to debate and antagonise a volatile situation almost leading to becoming physical.

Great car for a great price!
Pros: We were very happy with the car we got. Then they needed to change it out the next day for some unknown reason. Luckily they were willing to come to us to swap it out and we ended up with an even better one!
Cons: The pickup/drop off is at a hotel offsite. We were able to get a shuttle there very easily, but we had to wait 20 minutes or so to get one to return back to the airport

Big hassle picking up but otherwise very good.
Pros: Clean, late model car and good service once I finally got there.
Cons: They don't tell you that you need to take the hotel shuttle to get there and they don't always answer the phone.

Pros: Okay for cleanliness and car type. But no service.
Cons: Long wait. Poor service. No manual in the glove compartment and noone to answer the phone when 4 people who try csn't locate how to open the gas cap. Westin shuttle is ok if you hit it on time, not if you don't.

Cons: Westin shuttle bus is their shuttle and it seemed more like every 30 minutes versus every 15 minutes.

Long wait for airport transportation
Pros: Nice staff, easy to pickup.
Cons: I had to RUN through the airport and was very stressed due to having to wait 40 minutes for a shuttle from the Westin (where the site is located) to the airport. During peak travel times (this was 3:30 on a Friday) the wait should be no longer than 15 minutes. Get another shuttle!

Pros: NU Car staff at hotel were pleasant, knowledgeable and got me on the road quickly.
Cons: When I made reservation a month earlier they were located at 4 points hotel. Now they're at the Westin. Caused me much confusion.

look out for hidden charges
Cons: at the moment of drive off came casually a sheet of extra fees to initial, one of which was $250 for dog hair cleanup... for a car that already came with stains on the seats. mine is a short haired service dog who doesn't make much of a mess at all and i'm quite sure that, at most, the crew would run a vacuum over the seats. also charged was $30 for gas when i returned the vehicle with more gas than was in it at start. so watch out: your $70 rental will be $350 by the time they're done assessing. go somewhere else.
