No one present when dropped-off
Pros: Directions to drop-off spot was simple.
Cons: No one present at drop-off to checkout the car, sign off on its condition, offer a receipt, etc.

Pros: It was quick and convenient at the airport. The price was good. The car was great, clean, full of gas, and I got to choose it.
Cons: Location of Gas Station to fill up tank before return is a ways from the airport and very busy.

Much better price than I could find anywhere else!
Pros: My wife and I travel to Minnesota to visit family every year,. In the winter the cost is pretty good. Sadly, in the summer the prices jump considerably. We usually get a mid to full size car but decided to get a compact this time. There was plenty of room in the trunk for two full sized bags and carry on bags. The gas mileage was great - around 35 to 40 mph. The car was immaculate inside and out and the rental process was extremely easy. No high pressure talk for add ons. The return process was seamless. I have had some different experiences with other companies. Thank you Thrifty for making our vacation more enjoyable. John H.

Pros: Location was good
Cons: I specifically asked for a large car, but Thrifty picked up as a wild card - Mgrs pick, which I did not notice. The mgr gave me a compact car and wanted to charge more money for bigger size car. Not happy.

Pros: They worked with me when my flight was cancelled & rebooked for about 15 hours later! Convenient in airport & great employees!

Pros: Signs and arrows confusing and incorrect on drop off. Ended up in Hertz line but attendant said that was fine.

No room for compromise
Cons: So my flight got delayed due to an airline issue and I was originally scheduled to land at 10 and their desk closes at 11. When I called the company to inform them of this issue they tried to more than double the agreed upon price after subtracting a day off my reservation. How do you double the cost when I'd have the vehicle a day less? Either way i told them to shove it and went with Sixt rentals and they were very professional

Pros: The pickup and dropoff was good.
Cons: The cleanliness of the interior was terrible. Absolutely disgusting. The steering wheel was oily. The buttons were oily. And the air conditioner smelled like marijuana.

Very slow pickup service agent at MSP Term 2
Pros: Everything else was quite good.
Cons: The single pickup desk agent was nice but a bit slow and then spent about 20 minutes with a couple ahead of us as they tried to sort something out. There should be a policy of asking such customers to please step aside for a while until their banking or other problem is sorted out so that the rest of us could be taken care of in a timely manner.

Pros: Associate was very polite, although somewhat hard to understand at times. She provided good instructions in finding the car initially. The car was rented under Dollar not Thrifty. Cars provided by Hertz.
Cons: When we got to the parking lot there was only on compact car available and it was difficult to find at first.

We wont use Kayak nor Thrifty in the future
Cons: I was so sure that I reserved a full size car online, but Thrifty told me at the counter that our car would be a small car, and doubled the price for a full size car. I might have missed something in the process of the online reservation thru Kayak, but I felt like Kayak somehow tricked me. Thrifty representative was cold and not helpful at all. We decided to rent a car from Enterprise, as I knew they don't charge additional fee for a second driver if he or she is your spouse (Thrifty charges $13 a day). Later we wound out that my husband's brother who also rented the exact same car (Nissan Altima) from Advantage thru Travelocity only paid a half price of what we paid. We won't use Kayak nor Thrifty in the future.

Pros: Vehicle was clean and functional.
Cons: Counter was closed when I arrived with no instructions on how to proceed. No one in garage. Found a Hertz agent to help me. Wasted an hour. Was charged more than stated on reservation.

Bait and switch rate was very aggravating
Pros: The car I received was excellent: clean and very comfortable.
Cons: The agent at the counter when picking up my car tried to up-sell me, purchase additional insurance, pre-pay for gas, etc. I then had to switch vehicles when the first car was not allowed to leave the lot because "there was a hold on the car." When I reached my hotel, I received an email from Thrifty showing a rate of $37.83/day that I had not agreed to; my reservation was for a guaranteed rate of $17.85/day. I then called Thrifty several times during my rental, but no one I spoke with was willing or able to resolve the discrepancy. Finally, when I returned the car, I asked to talk with a manager. The gentleman at the Thrifty counter at the airport finally took the initiative to restore the original rental rate I had been quoted and gave me an additional $15 discount as an apology for my inconvenience

Cons: When we went to pick up the car they tried to charge us 3 times that what the reservation rate was. After complaining, they agreed to lower the rate. That is just wrong!!!!!!

Cons: Not being able to figure out how to open the trunk . Had to get the manual out a few times to figure out how to move the seats. How to do headlights etc.

I felt tricked by the "special"!
Cons: I selected the "special" rental which inferred that I would get a specialty car. The cost was slightly higher, but I was okay with that as I wanted a specialty car. When I arrived to the Thrifty counter, I was informed that this was poor advertising on Kayak's part, and that it was actually the "manager's special" ie the cars that were leftover, ie COMPACT CARS ONLY. So, unless I wanted to pay another $100 for a full size car, I had to take a compact car on the road trip in the snow. This was so frustrating! Also, MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE than going on right at that moment and creating a new booking! I will NOT be booking in this manner again. BUYER BEWARE!!!

This minivan rental didn't happen
Cons: We arrived at 11:15 PM on our flights from San Francisco to Minneapolis. I got to the rental counter by 11:25, and there wasn't anyone there. A sign told me to go outside, across the street and upstairs to pick up my car. There was nobody there, either. The Hertz person told me I had to go back to the counter. I did. Nobody there. Now it's after 11:30. So the hertz representative said he would give me a rental van at the same price. I said repeatedly it has to be a minivan. He gave me a much smaller Kia SUV. I couldn't take it (we had 5 people and lots of equipment). I very luckily snagged a van from Alamo 5 minutes before they closed and was able to fit everyone in (just barely). Service from Thrifty was non-existent and Hertz wasn't much better.

Why is the price quoted online never the actual pr
Pros: Employees were helpful. Company practices seem shady.
Cons: When I picked up my car they asked me what type of car I wanted. I told them I wanted the type that I reserved online. Even though I got the same type of care the price was 50% more than quoted online. When I returned the car they tried charging me another $50 because I returned it "late". I returned it earlier than I told them I would. After speaking with the agent at the desk they did take off the extra $50.

Cons: I booked this car because of the special on kayak and also because of the size that it would hold. It appeared to be a reasonable deal. When I went to pick up the car I was told by the thrifty agent that it was a very small car for "five small people and five small bags" It seems to me that the size of people and the size of bags should be a standardized unit to compare deals objectively. I was then up charged greatly for a car that would hold my luggage. My plan was to have it for 10 days. I returned it in two and was charged extra for ending the lease early, As I was moving from the UK to the US I felt held hostage by questionable business practice. I felt exhausted from long travel and cheated and that I had no options at the time. It would benefit you to know that I have since booked two other rental cars and I have not used thrifty or kayak.

Pros: Per day rental was cheap. Friendly staff and easy going.
Cons: The insurance for the car(which I thought I already bought) was more than double what I paid per day for the car. I was not happy about that.

You get what you pay for, but sometimes less...
Cons: -keys locked in car when picking up, had to be broken into -inside dirty -tire pressure light on whole time -charged more than it said when I booked it, by $100 And, there was only one person at the counter, who did a great job, but had a bunch of people in line.

Web booking very misleading
Pros: Checking and out was very quick
Cons: When booking I booked the 'special' and it had a picture of a Nissan crossover. When checking in I was told I booked a sub-compact. So rather than drive a sardine can I did opt for a larger car. Then all these add on fees appeared. Insurance something, platinum road side assistance, etc. I'll be calling to get those reversed. Thrifty wasn't really thrifty at all.

Pros: The pick up and drop off procedures were very quick and smooth.
Cons: The car smelled heavily of smoke and the person at the counter was very high pressure, trying to upgrade me to a bigger car, despite my insistence that I didn't need one. They were also very high pressure in trying to sell me the extra insurance, which was a bit annoying.

Pros: Customer friendly, quick service
Cons: Website wasn't clear on the terminal pick up. We flew into the other terminal however Thrifty staff was very nice and fixed it.

Quick and Easy!
Pros: The check-in only took 5 minutes, the car was waiting for me and I got to choose from 6 different cars. Great service! I will choose Thrifty again.

SUV without 4-wheel drive in MN in January?!?!
Cons: I reserved a small SUV because I was going to be traveling in upstate Minnesota in January. Imagine my surprised when I checked in to find that the vehicle wasn't 4-wheel drive ...and, that to get 4-wheel drive, I would have to pay to upgrade to a full-size SUV. I wasn't pleased!

Pros: It was a nice car very clean and new....
Cons: It was freezing in MN and they sent us out with our luggage and said the keys were in the car but they were NOT we had to go back in and they were short staffed. Not the best experience getting the car...... no problems after that.

Pros: Fairly quick pick up and drop off
Cons: Flight delayed - needed my car overnight after delay. Thrifty was going to charge me over $300 to keep it overnight. They claimed they couldn't do any better. Ended up being a huge inconvenience to take it back before I was ready.

It wasn't the car I was anticipating
Pros: The car was clean enough.
Cons: The gentleman at the counter told me my car choices, none of which were stated on the original buy in. They were the or equal... Since I would be driving my elderly parents around I was talked into "upgrading" for another $70.00. I went to the lot and it was still a small puddle jumper. Upgrade might mean upgrade to power windows. In the end with all the fees and taxes it was way more than stated. I want to know the out the door price please!
