We were told 3 days before our trip that there was no vehicle in the size that we needed available. We appreciated their honesty. We received a call the next day that a van became available but someone had smoked in the van and they were trying to air it out for us. The day we picked up our rental, another van had become available, which we were glad to see. However, someone had also smoked in that van too. All the seats were covered in a layer of cigarette ash. We shared with the staff that the new car smelled like smoke and was dirty. They offered to wipe down the seats, but we knew that the smell would not just evaporate with wiping down the seats. We took the van to the car wash and had to pay to have it cleaned. Even the manager at the car wash was surprised because he knows we are not smokers and couldn't believe the smell. We were taking our parents, who are older and more sensitive, on this trip. We had to purchase air fresheners to try and cover up the smell. Our whole trip we had to drive with the heat on full blast (February trip) and the windows open. Our clothes, suitcases, even food tasted like smoke from being in that car. We usually have had great experiences with Enterprise but were super disappointed by this last one.10.0 Wonderful

The time the vehicle had to be picked up and dropped off could've been better for me. The hours of operation mattered because I had to pick up the vehicle in enough time to reach my destination and return on time.10.0 Wonderful

Purchased insurance with rental online for $45 total. Upon arriving, the had no cars ready, drove us 20 minutes out of the way to another location, then said they don't except the insurance I paid for and that I lost that $45. Then told me they charge $45 per day for insurance!! In all we paid $415 for what was sold online for $130. DISGUSTING PEOPLE.9.2 Wonderful

The compact car that I'd reserved wasn't available so I was offered a Dodge Caravan at the same rate. I expressed my concern about using more gas with the larger vehicle and was offered a half tank of gas to be returned empty at no extra charge. I accepted the offer, and waited about 25 minutes for the replacement vehicle. Overall I was quite happy with the vehicle and with the friendly and helpful customer service.Cons:
The vehicle I'd reserved wasn't available, and I had to wait a little while for a replacement. Being just two days before Christmas, I understand that the demand for cars is quite busy, and it was really not much of an inconvenience.Hertz

I made a reservation for a car through Kayak with Hertz and when I got there , no cars were available even with my reservation. I was in another sate, with no cars, and had to call Uber going to different rental companies until I found a car. Hertz explained that Kayak does not check their inventories before allowing customers to make reservations through their sites. Both companies are incompetent. Would not recommend either. In addition, Kayak phone system is so poor that it makes it is very difficult to speak to a representative. The prompts will keep giving you the round around until you give up without. A simple and straightforward press on "0" to stalk to a rep will suffice but they do on purpose to discourage the customer. Call avoidance at its best. Will definitely not use not he future and will advise friends not to either.Avis
