Reserved a Manager Special at $135/day and upon arrival was given something they are renting for $33/day EV. Had the hardest time to find a place to charge and called customer service to return and swap for a gas car. The manager on duty wanted to charge me an upgrade for the days I had already used plus the one I haven’t used yet. When I asked what exactly was Special about the car I got for a $100 extra/day, he had the audacity to tell me that it’s their discretion to give me anything on the lot as a SPECIAL. Be careful when paying a whole lot extra for their SPECIAL, you will get the cheapest car on the lot. The EV was eventually swapped for a gas car with 60k on the odometer and a check engine light on the dash. Luckily I made it to my destination!Reviewed Jul 29 2023

Everything was great except for the attendant when I was leaving garage. I was leaving & bcse she wanted me to go to a different exit than the one I was at csed me to scratch the truck tht I had. The pickup at Houston Bush was terrible. Took over an hour to get me car. When I arrived there were about a dozen people ahead of me in line, with two clerks at the counter. After about ten minutes, both clerks finally finished with their customers, at which point one clerk shut down her station & left for the night, promptly at 7:00pm, leaving the remaining clerk to work through the long line of customers. When I finally got my car, the poor guy still was solo and there were at least another dozen customers waiting behind me - probably would be another hour before they got THEIR cars. Terrible service!!! First time in a long time I’ve used Hertz, will probably not do so again. However, the car was nice, the return three days later smooth & painless.Reviewed Jul 2 2023
