Pros: The guy upgraded me to a large SUV.
Cons: My flight was 4 hours late due to a mechanical problem. I called Advantage to alert them I would be late for my pick-up, and the woman told me my reservation was cancelled after one hour. If I wanted a car, I would have to re-book at the current rate, which was 3 times higher than my original rate. When I arrived in Houston, I waited in line 45 minutes to pick-up my car. The guy there said nothing about me being late, nothing about my reservation being cancelled - he just gave me a car. Why does one person tell me my reservation had been cancelled? It seems like this staff has no idea what they are doing.

Good rental experience!
Pros: It was the easiest pickup/dropoff experience, I was given a better car, clean and neat.
Cons: They charged my C/C a $200.00 deposit, this is the first time that a rental company does something like this, it was credited back some days later though, but in the meantime I was expecting trouble. At the end everything was fine.

Pros: That Advantage refunded my money.
Cons: I reserved a full size and they wanted to give me a mid sized Sonata. They said any bigger is called a premium size. Come on a premium car is s Cadillac or similar.

Pros: We rented from Advantage on a recent trip to Houston and had a very positive experience. The staff was helpful, the car clean and shiny, and it ran well throughout our trip.
Cons: The only annoyance is one common to renting cars in Houston. You have to make a decision to add a Toll Pass for $10 per day (which includes the tolls). There are toll roads that don't take cash and unless you are familiar with the highways, you can get stuck on one. With caution we took the pass but only used it two of the four days, for tolls that were less than $10.

Pros: It was cheap - but you get what you pay for
Cons: Slow - very slow to get car - kept saying computer problems When I returned they tried to charge me $130 For fuel - even though I had purchased fuel option - finally I had to pull out my paperwork in the office and show them - they fixed it finally -

Where was my car?
Pros: There was no one in the office! My plane was delayed by 30 minutes. I had no car and had to take very very expensive cabs. I will NEVER again use kayak or Advantage!!!!
Cons: I did not like reserving a car and then ntnhaving one. I did not like spending over $400 in cab fess when I had rented a car for $200!!!

Worst Customer service experience !!
Pros: The car was clean that's about it..
Cons: I purchased the insurance thru kayak. The clerk at the counter did not 30 minutes. We saw several other companies' shuttles go by multiple times before a single Advantage shuttle showed up. The line to pick up cars was long and slow. As always, they were heavy-handed with the extra insurance pitch (we already had insurance), warning that people had "trouble" with third-party companies. We had a fender-bender during our trip and are having difficulties getting in touch with anyone at Advantage to deal with it. Please note that if you are offered insurance from Kayak as you book your car that it is NOT through the rental car company and that the rental company will attempt to sell you additional insurance when you pick up the car. Pay a little more and choose another rental car company. Check your own auto insurance policy and your credit card coverage before purchasing any additional rental car insurance

Cons: The inside of both the front and rear windows were filthy. The streaks on the windows were to the point of dangerous when the sunlight hit them. Luckily most of the long distance drive I had was at night .

Cons: Wanted to return car a day early, so i called them. Was put on hold for over an hour. Was unable to reach them at all by phone. (even the corporate offices) When renting from here, know that you are on your own.

Advantage could use some lessons in customer servi
Pros: the rental was ready, available, clean and a good value. No mechanical or usage issues with the car.
Cons: I was made to feel like a burden on pickup and especially return. Pickup: Understaffed. Other people behind us in line, wanting to give Advantage their business were coarsely told no rentals were available and were given no further assistance. Return: No eye contact, one word instructions and answers, not even a fake smile. We struggled to get our luggage out of the backseat, while the return agent just sat in the driver's seat. No offer to help, move his seat forward or even get out of the car for 10 seconds.

It was fine.
Pros: The rental process at the IAH rental center was the same as from one of the majors, except the cost was a lot lower. We were very satisfied with the vehicle and the staff we dealt with was professional and courteous. I would not hesitate to rent from Advantage again based on this first-time experience.
Cons: The car had a few dings that required noting on a form before leaving the pick-up garage.

Never rent from advantage
Pros: The car got good gas mileage
Cons: I reserved a sonata, received an Elantra. The customer service rep lied about the prices of gas in the area, and the prices of tolls. No one was there when we dropped the car off in the morning... Never renting from advantage again, one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a rental company.

Worst car rental
Cons: Don't get fooled by the lowest price. When I arrived Houston (IAH) and shuttled to pick up the car, there was one lady (Barbara) serving at the check in counter and there were 4 guests in front of me. It was at about 3:30 pm on Tuesday and there were almost no customer at other rental offices. It took at least 15 minutes for each customer, who all ended up unsatisfied. Even if I booked it online, she tried to see additional items such as insurance, extra protection, etc. Her attitude was very aggressive and she kept cutting in and told what she wanted to say. The car was dirty and had existing dents and scratches.

Fine, but need more agents....
Pros: Car was comfortable, clean and a newer model.
Cons: IAH airport Advantage rental center had only 1 agent working the morning of the Final Four. The line for cars was long and slow. The lone agent was outstanding, but by herself. All of the other rental companies had numerous agents. For a few dollars more, I would avoid the long, long wait.

Pros: Car was ready when I arrived at airport, clean, full of gas, no damage, etc. I was able to return the car one day early and they took off one day of rental fees. Very smooth process.

Bait and switch
Pros: The vehicle was clean and had low miles.
Cons: I reserved a Jeep Cherokee and they stuck me with a Toyota RAV4 and charged me for the Cherokee. The total miles driven according to them, was 200 and when I mapped out my path and came up with 120 miles.

Mazda 6 was very comfortable
Pros: Had a relatively new, 10,000 miles, Mazda 6. Drove 2000 miles in the week all over Texas with 4 people in the car. Very comfortable at all speeds. Price was very affordable (<$200), pickup and dropoff were quick and easy and Houston Bush airport.

No car with reservation
Cons: I rented it online, but when my plane landed they did not have any cars. They took my reservation but they did not save a car. Why take the reservation if you don't plan on having a car. This cost me more money and time to find another car at another agency at the airport.

Bait and switch
Cons: The website indicated a full size car was an Impala or similar. When I asked for the impala, the counter agent said they haven't rented Impalas for years. I felt like a bait and switch victim. Begrudgingly, I drove off in my only option, a Hyundai Sonota... Additionally, I paid for $7/day for an EZ Pass but there wasn't a transponder in the car. I was not going to incur that volume of tolls, but was told driving through the ez pass lanes and getting a bill from the toll authority wasn't an option. I am fearful that this matter isn't yet over and that a toll bill will soon be headed my way despite paying extra to get EZ Pass access.

Worst experience ever
Cons: I was not giving the car I was promised and the manager was the rudest to me on the phone. I ended up leaving and going to a another rental company.

Cons: I got a Hyundai Sonata at a great price. The car ran well and was in good condition on the outside. The car pick up at IAH is in a covered shed so the lighting is not ideal. Once you get the car out in the sunshine is when you see the true condition of the car. The inside was filthy. The upholstery was soiled, there was dirt and sticky spots on the consoles. I didn't even want to sit in the seat. This is the 2nd time I've rented from Advantage and most likely the last.

Check in, check out
Pros: When I picked the car up there was no one to give the papers describing the condition of the car as I exited the rental area. Also no washer fluid in car. When I brought the car back there was no one to assist, there were two Advantage workers there,just hanging out apparently, who told me that the person who checked you in was "down there" in the office and would be back in a "little while". Like most people who return a car to rental agency at an airport I had a flight to catch and didn't have a "little while" to waste. Had to take the paper work down to the main office where the Advantage employees were busy renting cars to other people. The people at the main desk were very polite and helpful, the other employees, not so much.

Cons: $50 of hidden cost on a one day rental. Be ware. The advertised fee on Kayak is a "come on".
