it was in a great location! the bathrooms in the suites.... my friend and i were sharing rooms and the bathrooms are like a glass box so you see everything! weird!
The bed has this sexy blue glow coming from underneath it. Loved the ambience with the lighting. Definitely a good place for single solo traveler. . I'd stay again. Bed was kind of hard but not unbearable. Room was kind of small but fine for one or two people
no porter in the hotel.
The staff was excellent The hotel it self was kind of run down and although it was not dirty, because it was so run down the halls looked like they were dirty.
Great set up for the family room.
Location and service and great mini bar and wifi. Nothing. Very superlative.
A good modern hotel in an established skin. Very close to Madrid's best shopping district and museums. I particularly like the fact that the hotel didn't charge for extras that others often do - like internet access etc. Being really picky - the lifts were painfully slow - but this shouldn't put anyone off.
Free Laptop in Room . Excellent idea. Good Breakfast. Bar. TV Channels choice poor - No English. Pay TV movies totally inadequate.
I thought the hotel was very modern! No
I was very unimpressed with the service and the cleaness of the hotel.
the location is good, Brekfast was very poor all food looked old and not fresh. The Hotel inside is very dark.
The quality of the hotel was very good, location was good but expensive area. There was no bar/coffee bar at the weekend. The room toilet had a clear glass wall and door which was an experience particularly when travelling with children.
The club lounge make a huge difference
The personel's attention is always high. Intercontinantal is always a sure choice (Budapest, Praga,...)
Attentive staff, classic location. In my view, the applicable rate should have included breakfast, which negatively impacts the value for money ratio.
area and service outdated room
The hotel is for people who travels for business. There are a lot of rooms and every day is so busy of business persons.I don't think is a hotel for vacation. It's seams a hotel for business time. the staff of reception was so bad
Staff, service, food & general helpfulness Wiyhout swimming pool or gymnasium - I thought pricing was high
We completely enjoyed our stay at the Hesperia Madrid. The staff is incredible. They are so helpful and kind. The hotel is a small boutique hotel above the hetic area around the Prado, so it is a bit more quiet. There is a 4 star restaurant in the hotel. We had a beautiful room on a high floor with lots of light and a lovely marble bath. I would definitely stay there again! Nothing I didn't like
hotel has a small bar but 2 TV sets that are on full blast showing football. Not exactly a quiet and sophisticated bar more like a football pub.
Expensive and unhelpful reception staff with a muddled check in (they couldn't find the reservation) and an muddled check out when they did not comply with request to charge card as included in booking form comments. We wrote to register a complaint but received no reply.
Good breakfast. Good location in the middle of old ity centre, financial centre and new shopping centre. Rooms/facilities not a typical 5 star ambiance.
Staff including cleaning staff very efficient and kind
it was very well located on the main strip one minute from the tube stop we were coming from bilbao and did not have to deal much with traffic in madrid we were there to see the real madrid game and go to arco so it worked great but that was thanks to your website for having that information available. the room was very quiet and comfortable we slept very well everything super clean and just happy so nice to return too after a long day/night it was further than I would of wanted from the old part of the city, prado etc but for this trip we needed to be further out of town so it worked , but next time i may have to stay some place closer to the city center to avoid driving about etc ...would like the breakfast to extend beyond 12 we were out late and wanted to sleep as long as we could and would of stayed for breakfast if it was open longer they have a pillow service but I asked for a latex pillow and they brought me a hard one not the same at all but everything else was so nice I did not care
The staff was courteous and their restaurant, Santceloni was fabulous. housekeeping was very stingy with the toiletries and we had a misunderstanding over the price of breakfast when checking out. We were quoted a different price and management would not compromise with us. Certainly not a 5 star hotel!!
vacuming outside the room on sunday at 9.00 am.
Helpful staff Great breakfast buffet Noises from plumbing - 'water hammer' caused by air in system. Room was small for 5* No UK sat TV channels except Sky news
nice hotel good staff
the fact that shower wasnt functioning
The way we were received. The concierge was excellent .Breakfast svc was very good and i loved the bar
It was a great experiance in total nothing to mention
Its proximity to the city center and shopping areas. No
The staff of the hotel were nice and curtious. The hotel location was excellent for shoppers. None
Nice and clean room. Great location. Quite street.
Quiet hotel, pleasant staff. We were offered a selection of rooms Surrounding location was quiet but not very interesting
very good breakfast: lots of fresh fruit and jamon :) good location in Salamanca district. We booked a special offer with late check-out and free minibar which was great. My high evaluation of value for money of this hotel is based on the special offer we booked (80 euros a night with breakfast included). However, when we asked about the price for our next stay in september, we were told the same room would cost 160 euros, which is too much for the amenities you get. In my opinion, this is a good 3stars hotel, but no more than that.
The location Cleaning services and the age of the hotel
The attention to detail of each guest's requirements.
very nice stary , good service. The 2 adult establishments on either end of the hotel are a turn off
the location is very good near the centre of the city. good transports both metro and bus. it is an experience to do again the staff are very rude and not helpfull. there is no parking although it says on the hotel site and staff don't care about this problem where they were asked for information
Outstanding accommodation. Well located hotel for our needs and very near two Metro stations which met all our travel requirements around town. Short ride to all museums, art gallerries etc and short walk to great shopping outlets in Serrano. No on site parking available and street parking limited to one hour
The location, quiet, and the room was clean. Metro is close by, and easy to access from airport. The staff on reception desk is not informative. No maps were provided. The breakfast is fair, good quantity, but too expensive for the quality. The signal quality of Internet is fair, free if you use you own computer, or with an extra cost of you use their computers and printers.
We had a huge room, which was beautiful. However, we probably would not pay the 'asking price' had we not found a bargain online. The decor is nice, it is spotless, and bed very comfortable, the a/c fabulous, the bathroom great, the breakfast interesting and definitely big. Very tasteful. They need a ramp for suitcases - there is a staircase entry in the front. There is no decent chair in the room if you need to work at the desk or computer. Very very uncomfortable, too high for the desk also, so not practical or helpful in that regard. The breakfast is quite darling, about 20 things on a tray brought to each guest at the table or in the room. However, it is exactly the same every day except for a change in the fruit. We were there 5 days.
the hotel were new & amazing decore , friendly staff , nice neighbour hood no concierge & we had to wait standing for the call up taxi , no much options for breakfast though the lay out for it was amazing
Location, room size, cleanliness of our room Hotel staff not of the quality of a five star hotel. The exact same breakfast all 5 days
The location is quite good, near lots of nice boutiques, retiro park and not too far to walk to the prado, handy for the airport metro, get no 8 to colombia ,change to no 9 to nunez de balboa ,get out at plaza marques de salamanca and walk to the hotel about 15 mins, thats just one change.Staff are very nice and we were offered a drink on ckeck in,nice reasonably priced restaurant nearby(oter epicure)other cafes and lovely food market just close by, even though the hotel is modern,it lacked any kind of atmosphere, there is no bar area, the breakfast room wasnt inviting,we did not have breakfast as it was too expensive.i would expect a 5 star to have more facilities such as spa,
Fine location in zona salamanca
Good location - 5 min walk to metro. Great breakfast however not cheap. Not worth the money. More a 4 star hotel. Nice room however we could hear some noise on the corridor outside our room.
location. nice hotel untrained staff. no telephone directory. no help given. brochure stated free video library - did not have one. staff could not understand how to use video machine
The best service&staff i have experienced ever. Breakfast an amazing surprise. The suite just blew our mind with its amenities. Location excellent. Our bed was not a double, but a twin, although we finally couldnt tell the difference.
the location I'm not sure we got the room we booked. Hotel staff said it was not a standard room but a deluxe one. I'm sure they cheated. The room had nothing special.I'm really disappointed
Well located for us, extremely friendly and helpful staff, good value, clean comfortable room
central location, professionalism of reception staff unexciting breakfast
The restaurant Dusty skirting boards, in need of some touching up here and there
staff room room a bit dark
Everything! I'm looking foward to staying there my next trip to Madrid.
the friendliness and cooperation of the staff, the facilities available, the free mini bar was a nice touch, the comfort in the room when the wifi did not work from my computer they had no way to fix it even though it seemed to be a problem with the wifi access point
The atmosphere at the hotel was extremely relaxing. Staff were always attentive but never intrusive. Great Gin and Tonics The mojito cocktail that we had was the worst I've ever tasted.
it's a really nice hotel and the rooms are really spacious the hotel is extremely overpriced... i stayed in a similar hotel the night before for only 55 euro... have a look at some other ones before you decide... also their dinner was 32 euro!!! outrageous if you ask me
Friendly and helpful staff, fantastic breakfast, nice area close to shopping and metro.
Everything was fine except the air-conditioning system. We couldn't sleep at night because of the warm. That was unacceptable for a 4 star hotel. Definetaly the air-condition system.
The hotel room temperature was a bit low and I was not able to set the comfort level myself as the control unit was not in operation.
It was a very large room, which was very clean and comfortable.
away from the croud no view from the hotel room
the rooms were a bit old, the hotel needs reinovation
Services and facilities
location rooms are small
The Hotel was excellent, I would certainly stay again. Very comfortable and clean and always a taxi waiting out front. The only negative point was when lots of Guests were waiting to check in or check out, that usually only one person was serving and other staff members were busy with their computers but not helping. That happened to me at check in, I had to wait at least 15mins to get my key.
The hotel is very close to the metro station and in a safe area should you want to walk late at night. The room was very clean and the breakfast excellent The temperature control in the room did not work well and it was very hot (in november!), the room was dark. The bathroom, although spotlessly clean, was very small. The bulb over the mirror in the bathroom was not working, and it was not replaced in 3 days despite having informed reception about that
Well located for access to airport by metro and downtown. Room was small
Needs some update in the rooms, and some better interior design. The small size of the room I was assigned, and the old fashioned design. They didn't care about the detail which is what makes the difference.
The room was comfortable and quiet. The safe in my room did not work.
Quiet neighbourhood, excellent breakfast, friendly staff
I liked everything except that the room was too small for two people. Room too small for double also it was very hot and stuffy.
ideal location and comfortable quiet room No coffee bar or equivalent
Location was great (near tube 32 min walk) Helpfull receptionist recomended excelent Italian restaurant near by. Free internet in lobby No aircon, room very warm, no iron and ironing board available (for H+S reasons !)
The internet connection is too expensive and the quality of the signal is low therefore I would not suggest this hotel if you are in Madrid for work
The kindliness of the people at the reception. No other person could speak a word in english. Not even in the restaurant. In my opinion, that is unacceptable in an international hotel.
Immaculately clean room, comfortable bed, excellent service. The masseuse at the spa is fabulous! The steam room at the spa needed a good dose of bleach.
Room was large. Service was efficient. Breakfast was very good. All as expected from a hotel of that price-class. Distance to airport was relatively short. For tourists of the town, location is a bit off-center. You will need to take a taxi or some other transportation to get to the center (old town).
The gym, pool and spa and the michelin restaurant were closed.
The private reception on the 5th floor was very good Misleading when it says a private sauna and jacuzzi. Disappointed with the room
the breafast is really for every taste, all the staff of the reception is really helpfull and professional tv could be better
The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. We went for a delux room on a special offer they had that included breakfast. The breakfast was available till 11.00am and had pleanty to offer every taste and requirement. The hotel Spa was really good although you do have to wear a swimming hat in the pool. You can purchase these from the Spa reception. The only down side was the fact that the hotel was a few miles outside of the city centre. Although we did not use the hotel for evening meals there are a few good places around the hotel area. The VIPS down the road from the hotel had a good range to offer and at reasonable prices.
Convenience hair dryer is poor.
Location, atmosphere No tissues in bathroom except in tiny packet, toilet paper hard and rough, toilet took 30-45 secs to complete flush (not environmentally friendly!)
We paid extra for royal executive and that meant that we dealt with a special staff on the 5th floor. They were extremely friendly and helpful, but I do not know how the regular staff was. The jacuzzi in the spa area was nice. I liked the executive lounge, but it was a pity that I could not make tea myself there while there was a coffee machine, but the service there was good. We paid extra for the executive lounge and asked for non-smoking and for a baby crib, since we have a baby. We received a smoking room and no carriage. I have stayed with several 4-star hotels and they always gave use cribs and they usually gave use bigger rooms than normal. Although the staff was nice and arranged for us to move to a non-smoking room on a different floor, we did not ever get a crib and the rooms were smaller than a 4-star hotel. One expected executive rooms to be larger than normal, but the only difference was that the writing table was L-shaped rather that square and since we had to move into a normal room to get non-smoking, we did not even get this advantage. The pool closes early on weekends and should be booked.
Very comfortable and near the main attractions. no
Its situation in the city (good area, not far from central attractions) I initially booked a single room but it proved to be incredibly small with view on 2-sq.metres inner courtyard. I paid extra EUR15 per night to move to a proper room. Internet in the business centre was very bad and outdated.
very good quality breakfast. The staff were excellent and very very helpful
The location is great and the price is excellent there was no room service
Location and price Service was only the bare minimum, the hotel should be 3 stars not 4, but the price I paid was really for a 3 star, so I am not really complaining
I liked the hotel very much. Location is excellent (close to everything interesting or important), room was of a very good size, very clean with air conditioner. Staff of the hotel were extremely helpful and very friendly.
Excellent location close to offices, shops, museums etc. Not informed about the breakfast charge as it is not advertised anywhere and I therefore assumed it was included.
very convenient location, quiet, good price no air conditioning made it very uncomfortable at night. The only way to get enough air was by keeping the windows wide open
convenient, reasonably priced and helpful staff decor shabby
it was not 4 stars at all - 2 in the best case, the room, its size and interior, were terrible
Easy access to the city, nice and friendly service. A bit more effort to justify the 4 stars.
Good location w.r.t public transportation and connection to industry area East of Madrid, friendly staff, good restaurant
Centrally located Staff most helpful. Breakfast expensive
it has a good location; breakfast is good and the staff are very helpful The a/c was not working properly and it was hot in the room. there was an adolecent package tour group in the hotel and there was a lot of noise throughout the night
The location is quite good, close to the metro station, easy to get there from the airport by metro. Also the sorroundings are really quiet and nice, good to walk around.
Location of the hotel Cleanliness of the room was not as expected, especially in the bathroom. rooms are old and without any comfort.
Staff were very helpful and the location was near the business district at Maria de Molina with access to two metro stops that can take you anywhere in Madrid within 20 minutes Shower in my room was blocked, safe did not work too.
good service quality, conventient location, tidy suite, various tv channels
My room was on a high floor. The location was quite good - it's a rich- ish business area, and the hotel is only a few hundred metres from the nearby subway (line 10) I asked for a room with a balcony, and feather pillows. Neither were provided. The pillows were particularly uncomfortable. Very thick, and a hard foam.
The helpfulness of reception staff, who went out of their way to be attentive and solve my needs. Bed was very comfortable.
Excellent location, great sized clean rooms!
two rooms, with large sofa bed in main room Nothing
Location of hotel great, suite very comfortable, and view over the gardens from our 5th floor balcony a real bonus.
having the 2 rooms and couch - veyr comfortable It would have been good to have an iron and ironing board and a kettle - for a business hotel this is a minimum - you don't need 2 televisions but you do need these basics.
A bit overpriced
Location was perfect for my stay. Hotel was fine itself, however the front facing rooms are very receptive to sound. Unfortunately during my stay it was made worse by the roadworks directly outside the hotel.
Location is basically on the nicest shopping street in Madrid, size of rooms was good, a lot of cupboard space (almost a negative), it wasn't very busy in the hotel and mini bar price wasn't as expensive as most. Tried giving us a junior suite instead of a suite without telling us,we got the suite but only had a twin bed despite an advanced request for a queen. Room didn't have balcony. Satellite and Cable TV listed - more like free view. Uncomfortable fake leather sofa that kept sliding you off. Blind was broken in the living area so the building across could see in. Walls were a bit marked. Furniture was a bit damaged. Poor sound proofing to street which was quite busy at night. Bad wi-fi. Their "room service" was a menu for a near by telepizza, we asked if we could order a Domino's pizza and they said no (they don't get a cut obviously) I did anyway and it was delivered to my door no problem..
spacious rooms for very good price in the centre of Madrid, in nice area, and very nice staff. Minibar. Good bathroom. the smell of chloro in the room after cleaning. The expensive breakfast, while at the bar next door a better coffee and toast is 2,20 euros. WIFI does not work well, as the signal is very low.
Cleanliness of the room. Very pleasant rooms No coffe making facilities, not even for one cup first thing in the morning!
Nothing in particular. Facilities too old and the room too tight.
Professional atmosphere fosters easy, pleasant stay. N/A
very good and rich breakfast, friendly hotel stuff, clean rooms, nice neighbourhood
Bella)))) breakfast. George Clooney on reception)) Problems with public parking.
Convience, Price, friendly staff, Great Value No
yes the way we were received at night on the arrival; aircondition not working ,this is unnacceptable.
room decoration, bath products. old elevator.
Location so noisy!
Rooms were modern and clean; desk staff were helpful; free internet available if you use the one workstation in the dining room. Hotel is a little distant to the very center of Madrid -- about a 45 minute walk, or a 3 block walk to the closest two Metro stations and then 3 or 4 stops (15 mins). It's in a mostly residential neighborhood, so not much to choose from for dining or entertainment. The location is the only reason I'm checking the no box on recommending the hotel.
Nice modern room, compact but well furnished and clean. Very limited selection of food available in the bar. Was arriving back at the hotel at 21:00 after a hard day's work to find only three or four things available on the menu. What was available was well prepared and tasty.
during our stay the towels were changed regularly and our beds were made perfectly every day; bathroom was really clean; the wall are very thin, so that you can hear an activity of your neighbors
Only the location, near to Metro and in a quiet zone The apartment has a dirty aspect, internet is paid, no parking
The studio was spacious with a self-contained kitchen unit, very useful for backpackers on a budget and families. The staff were very helpful and polite.
Meet my expectations, Very poor breakfast.
Metro nearby. 5 minutes walking to Instituto de Empresa, for whom it may concern. Cheap, so, in the end, a very good value for money. Clean bath, which is very important. Very noisy. You can hear always doors slamed. When somebody is cooking, the smell is everywhere. It need a very fast refurbishment. Looks like pretty depresive.
Easy reach of centre not welcoming and dirty
Only location.7/8 mn walking to Metro station and good wireless connection. This apartment was dirty and dark (walls but also kitchen stuff), staff was not friendly and even not very polite. Room wasn't no smoking. Awful stay. This type of room is suitable only for student at lowest rate.
location - 15 minutes walk to the edge of cultural center, 20 to prado. metro close. every day room is cleaned while you are away. big and recently restourated room, good bathroom. internet - one computer beside reception - 1 euro for 15 minutes. really thin walls and you can hear every sound, awfully noisy sounds of lift. kitchen is in a small cupboard, tiny refrigerator, no salt or sugar or oil - absolutely empty, no kettle, only pots, and no baking oven. staff is ok, though not very eager to help.
Location It seemed that all the hotel lived in your room. You could hear every word your neighbors said.
The location was absolutely great and the value for money was ecxellent! The room was cheap-a like, but nothing complaining about the important things like the bed: it was greta to sleep and the shower: it was great, and a little kitchenette if you want to do something yourself like coffee or smth. and the breakfasts coffee was exxellent! I would really go there again if I need a cheap overnight. Madrid was really nice and there is a bus station on the corner and the nearest metro also very close. And it is very easy to find I f you just ask the direction from the metrostation info, forexample the" nuove ministerios" or something like that was the name of the station where was very friendly and helpfull staff they gave us the map aso. The breakfast was poor, dont except anything, I recommend to buy some breakfast from shops or something your own to put on the bread and just take the bread from the breakfast..or ofcourse if you like a sweet sugar very unhealthy breakfast, this is for you, but im lucky I survive only with cup of coffee untill lunch so this was great for me beacause there was exxellnet tasting coffee, really!
