Pros: Advice and recommendations were helpful
Pros: Very efficient transfers to and from airport... including very fast turn around on getting in and out
Pros: Staff was helpful, friendly ad efficient. Car was ready and we were able to get on the road quickly. Car was well maintained.
Cons: Always nice when the price can be a little better.
Cons: Slow, unorganized car drop off procedure.
A huge mess
Pros: Well, we had a car.
Cons: hertz/Dollar/Thrifty are all together in Ireland. We rented through Thrify and had a massive wait. The Hertz line went far more quickly. It was extremely disorganized. The person helping us couldn't find the key to our car. There was such a backlog of people trying to get cars that it seemed that the employees were hoarding keys. Our insurance didn't cover the car in Ireland, and our credit card didn't either. The cost of full insurance was more than that of the rental. The car was a mess. One of the rims was held on by a tie, and an attachment came off. There were a million scrapes on the car. We were too tired getting off the plane to inspect the car, so the joke every time the light hit the car differently and showed new damage was "at least we have full insurance."
Pros: easy pickup and drop off thanks to google maps.
Cons: should have ordered a car with A/C. My bad.
Ridiculously high Insurance
Cons: Bait and switch pricing. $200 extra for an automatic? Horrible experience!
Pros: The drop off was very efficient
Cons: It took quite a few minutes at pick up; not sure if they weren't expecting as many customers at that time or just didn't have enough staff. Took about 30 mins to get our car.
Thrifty lies about the price
Cons: The rental price was supposed to be ~45$ without insurance. Since my Credit Card covers insurance there was no need for it. It turns out that Thrifty throws in a ~6$/day "administration" fee if you don't use their insurance. So the choice comes down to: ~20$ for their insurance ~6$ for admin fee for no insurance. The initial rental quote said nothing about this "admin" fee.
Had to cancel because they didn't have the vehicle
Cons: We had to cancel upon our arrival because they didn't have the vehicle we needed and reserved. We had to find another car rental option on the spot which was challenging. We are very disappointed in this entire experience. We will not use Kayak or Thrifty again. The site can't be trusted traveling internationally.
Pros: Courtesy. Cost of rental which I believe was competitive. Also the drop off at terminal 2 was a godsend. rather than the quite impossible return off the M50
Cons: Being oblivious of the very high cost of the GPS - which was never used.
Pros: It was clean
Cons: That it drove more like a stick shift. That it took two hours to leave the lot after a long international flight. Charges kept adding up. I brought it in a day early and still paid full price.
