Cons: Not a big fan of the Chrysler 200. Would have preferred a Nissan/Toyota/Honda at that price point.

Pros: Agent at desk when I picked up was very helpful and friendly.
Cons: The interior of the car was rather stained and worn. It also had a musty smell. I would have expected and even lower rate given the sub-par quality if the vehicle.

Poor quality car -- non existent service
Cons: Huge dent on driver's door. Lots of noise coming from front wheelwell. Made a great impression driving up to the client. Also cdw and full liability insurance are at least double what big 2 charge. I would avoid at all costs.

Pros: The Toyota Yaris we got had low miles, so it was clean and didn't smell bad. Had to wait in line at the airport rental desk, and the cars were located far away, but didn't have any problems with the car.

Hidden Fees & Bold Face Lies
Pros: Car was great. Very clean and very comfortable.
Cons: When I booked the reservation the total was $50/ day. When I picked up the vehicle it ended up being $100/ day. I was given a "free" upgrade from a full size car to an SUV and this included a $30 per day SUV/ Van charge. I was also told that if I didn't purchase the toll package for $10/ day and wanted to drive anywhere during my trip that I would encounter tollways that do not accept cash and that I would incur the toll plus a higher fee for not paying the toll. I never saw a tollway during my trip and put on 200+ miles over the two days. I will never consider Advantage an option when renting a vehicle in the future. The customer service reps add additional fees and lie about the need for services.

Cons: Upsold car toll package that I didn't need to go downtown even though I told counter person exactly where I was going; she said it was necessary for tolls and I was told it was necessary for toll roads, non of which were necessary for my trip and that I didn't go on.

Cons: I ended up having to cancel because Advantage has a new policy that limits local renters to 150 miles a day and to showing proof of insurance. As I was going out of town to take care of a sick relative I couldn't comply with their requirements. Likewise, I didn't have my insurance policy on me. It's a stupid policy and I really wish I had been warned about it.

Lots of hidden fees
Pros: The car was clean and even though we rented a minivan and got a Suburban-type car (they were out of minivans) it fit our family and luggage.
Cons: There were so many fees that the estimated $385 rental ended up costing $512, plus we had to leave a $200 deposit that we were not told about previously. Also the carseat we received had the LATCH straps cut, which tells me that someone left it out in the garbage not intended to be used again.

Pros: Drop off was great! Excellent customer service and quick checkin.
Cons: Poor customer service from agent when picking up car. Tried to give me a car that looked like it was in an accident. Damaged front tire rim and dents on fender above rim. She said it was ok, it happened in the car wash. When I said I wouldn't drive it, she walked to the office, came out and never said a word to me. She started checking in anothe customer. When I questioned her, she made some remark and kept on checking in other customer. The desk agent who completed my paper work arrived and said car was ok. I said no so then he tried putting me in a vehicle with Takata air bag. These vehicles should not be on the road. I said no and he upgraded me to a Ford Mustang. Will never use Advantage Car Rental again.

Bait and switch
Pros: Upon arrival for a business trip I was told there were no cars available except for a large van. A large van. I had reserved an intermediate car, a Toyota Corolla. I was directed to the rental company set up in the next booth next door and forced to rent a smaller vehicle than I had reserved at a slightly higher cost. Why even make a reservation? What a joke.

Pros: The rental pickup and drop off service was very efficient and easy.
Cons: I had requested a mini van to accommodate 7 passengers. When we arrived to get the car, we were offered an SUV that would seat the same number of people for the same price. The SUV we were given only accommodated 5 people. This created a hardship for our family reunion weekend and caused us to have to make multiple trips to transport family to venues.

Cons: You won't be able to get in touch with anyone from this company for any questions are or concerns. We were running 4 hours late to drop off car and could not get ahold of anyone for hours. Upon dropping off the car they attempted to charge us 130 USD for being late 4 hours. That price was more than double our daily rate. They also charged us 40 USD for an additional driver who was no longer on the trip with us for that 4 hour delay. I would pay extra and with another car rental company because their "fees" aka hidden charges are very expensive and they add them on without your knowledge. So beware if you decide to book with this company. In the future we will definitely be taking our business elsewhere.

Pros: When we got to the airport there were no cars available and it did not have a full tank of gas. We went 85 miles and had to fill up with 8 gallons of gas. Will never go back.

800 Number for Customer Service is Terrible
Pros: I eventually got in touch with the agents directly at the AUS Berg airport who were extremely helpful and nice.
Cons: I spoke with at least 3 different people who could not give me a straight answer. My flight was delayed overnight and I wasn't going to be able to pick up the rental until a day after the scheduled time. As it was business related I did not want my boss's credit card charged for the no show fee.

Nene renting with advantage again
Cons: They duped me into signing for the supplemental insurance, even though I clearly stated that I didn't want it. Then they refused to refund it

Pick Up process poor
Pros: Car was clean, and functioned well. The drop off process was easy.
Cons: It took nearly an hour from the time we arrived at the counter until we had the keys. There were only two people in line ahead of us, and we thought they were just being slow or unprepared, but when it came time for us to step up to the counter we quickly learned that it was the clerk and the checkout process that was to blame. Our clerk was very nice and cheerful, but we had to answer so many questions, and sign for so many things. Then the clerk said that he had forgotten something, and we got to go through the process again.

Pros: The car
Cons: Nearly impossible to get ahold of someone on the phone to get help. Once you get ahold of someone like Christian William or Jeremy Gesuale(manager) You will get no help still! Beware!! You've been warned.

Pros: It was a smooth experience from pick up to drop off of my one-way rental.
Cons: My experience would be 5-star if not for the dirty child seats on offer. I ended up using my own child seat.

Pros: Not expensive
Cons: The whole car reeked of the smell of smoke. Car was not at full tank. Someone had used the car like an ashtray as you could see traces of it everywhere.

Get the toll road package
Cons: Be sure to get the toll raod package in Austin. Hard to get around without it and Advantage says they will charge $25 per toll violation plus toll.

Cons: People honked and pointed to our tire. We pulled off and put air in tires. Next morning tire pressure light was on again. Took car back (long drive) and at first they just wanted to put air in tires. I had to insist car wasn't safe to get different car. Next day the new car got a tire pressure warning light. It was very inconvenient to return unsafe car.

They didn't keep a car for me
Cons: They did not have my reserved car for me. I had to rent from another agency for a significantly higher price.

No upgrades please
Pros: The price was outstanding BUT it took about 10 extra minutes to say no to all the upgrades that were pushed on us. We rented in Austin and were told we had to get the toll pass (we didn't) if we were driving to San Antonio. We didn't go on any toll roads the whole trip and in fact only saw one.

Pros: The SUV was very nice and made my trip comfortable while on the road trip.
Cons: Advantage car rental didn't hold the original vehicle I reserved, and of course I had to come out of pocket with more money!

Advantage Employee Left 5 customers at least witho
Pros: Nothing. Some of us had called to confirm our reservation for car. Confirmed they were open till midnight. I came in at 11:45 met a man that was there since 11:20. We all waited till past midnight. Other counters told us the employee left earlier. Said nothing just abandoned post. I called advantage customer service she could not get anyone that worked at Austin Airport to respond or find out what had happened. While we waited at least 4 others came up and waited and left. 2 had told us they had reservations and called this location to confirm. Do NOT TRUST Austin airport location!
Cons: Worst service- do not even depend on them to be there at the counter waiting during hours posted. No real help or explanation from the customer service people at toll free number. I gave up as I was allowing another customer to use my cell phone to talk to customer service person about getting his money back. Poor guy was there almost an hour waiting and hoping for help since his was marked as no refundable. I ended up just allowing my family to come get me. At almost 1 am. Exactly what I was trying to avoid. Do NOT TRUST Austin airport location.

Very low price
Pros: The cheapest rate I've ever been able to get.
Cons: The cars I wanted weren't available, and the one I had seemed smaller in comparison. For the price, though, nothing to complain about.

Great until the end
Cons: Pickup not very efficient Drop-off much better except receipt not emailed as promised. Hard to reach on the phone to get the receipt. Corrected online by a very helpful agent

Pros: It was easy to pick up the car & drop it off.
Cons: The car did not have the portal to charge a cell phone which was not convient. We assumed all cars have this feature.

Cons: 1) Insurance purchased online did not cover what I expected it to cover. Had to purchase even more supplementary insurance at the counter to cover damage to other drivers/cars in event of accident. 2) In case of tolls, had to buy $7/day "toll" plan, without which each toll one encounters would add not only the cost of the toll, but a $25 "administrative" fee to my overall rental bill. So if you think you might drive on a toll road, you pretty much have to pay the extra $7 a day, which I'm pretty sure fits the definition of racketeering. There are apparently no cash toll booths in Austin. Why wouldn't Advantage include some kind of EZ-Pass transmitter with their vehicles? Again: racketeering.

Clean, easy option
Pros: Location was with everyone else and not off site People working with the cars were pleasant and easy-going Car was like new
Cons: Pressure sales on extra insurance, gas, tolls. Maybe it's required but I felt that "no" wasn't quite sufficient.

Pickup in AUS and drop off in SAT hard to find
Pros: This was the only rental co. that still had cars available in AUS, and there was no drop off fee for returning in SAT
Cons: The signs in AUS direct you to the third deck in the parking garage( a long walk) and then a short, dour woman informed me that I had to go back to the rental counter, complete the contract, and return for my car. Every other customer (3 that I saw) did the same thing. Very annoying! Trying to find the car return in SAT was another ordeal. They are WAY off airport and the signs are hard to follow.
