I pre approved my car online gave my card info and it even stated that my card was a debit card in my confirmation I got a Lyft to the airport and was then told that they do not accept debit cards at airport locations I told him it even stated my card was a debit card and he said he seen that but he just figured I had another card with me waste of my time and money cost me 40$ on Lyft just to get there and backReviewed Sep 20 2026

Renter beware! Do not recommend for traveling one way across country lines. We had added costs at pickup that I was not aware of when booking online. $600 one-way fee, plus forcing us to purchase car insurance even though we kept saying we have it through our CC. Our rental ended up costing us over $1K!! I was not prepared for that. Next time, I will be using buses and trains to get around.Reviewed Sep 19 2026

It has been 4 days since I returned the car. I still dont see a receipt or a conformation that the rental was compelted and tehre are no pending charges. I have called 4 times to Budget and they still cant provide me the final cost and a copy the final receipt.Reviewed Sep 19 2026

I was pressured hard to buy Budget car insurance. The agent would not let me take the car until I proved my travel insurance covered the car, was large enough, and was valid in Ireland. I had to call the insurance company to prove. it. He challenged me on each point, The cost for insurance would have been 50% higher than the cost of the car. Very unsettling. If I had not experienced this before I would have fallen for their trap. The car was beat up to begin with. The power plug we found out didn't work so couldn't charge phones and devices. The car was really dirty at pick up. The front window had squished bugs all over it. I had to clean it when I got to my destination so I could see through it better. Almost took it through a car wash but decided why should I pay for that when your company should do it before delivering it to me. Also the inside was very dusting and the floors were not vacuumed. My spouse was really upset how dirty the car was. Never had that problem before. Otherwise the car was good and worked as well as expected. I understand the person at the Lakewood site for pickup was a one person show and I could not see if there was a way to clean the car, but you need to do something there to make sure the cars are cleaned before turning them over.
