When I showed up a half hour after my rental time to pick up my rental car, they said there would be a half hour to 40 minute wait for my rental car. I said I had a reservation and the man at the counter gestured to a group of people (maybe 20) sitting on the side and said "so do all of these people and they have to wait for their cars too." He told me that the cars were on site but just needed to be cleaned. They wouldn't finish checking us in until our car was "ready" and said they would call us up to the desk at that time. Other than having to wait in a long line to get my car before, I've never been told that my car wasn't ready. I'm writing to formally complain about a confirmed reservation that was not honored, and to request a full refund plus compensation for the losses it caused. I arrived at the pickup counter on time, and your staff told me **no cars were available**. A confirmed reservation is a commitment. Turning a customer away at the counter with no vehicle and no alternative is a failure of your core obligation. This wasn't a casual rental — it was one leg of a planned itinerary where **the other leg was a flight**. With no car, my entire plan had to be scrapped and rebuilt on the spot. The fallout cost me approximately **$400** in extra expenses. I am requesting: 1. A full refund of all charges on this reservation 2. Compensation for the $400 in direct costs your failure caused I expect a written response within 7 business days.
