Waited 2.5 hours in queue with every single customer before and after us arguing with them about how much they had paid and needed to pay more. I paid for full insurance before but they refused to accept that and I had to pay an extra 225 euros. Worst car hire ever!Reviewed Jun 6 2026

Budget Rent a Car on Clinton Highway does the bait and switch. They advertised a Tesla 3 for $61 a day and then when I got there they said there's your car a fully electric Genesis. They never had a Tesla in the first place. Liars and deceitful, shady business people. I'm sure they hope that people are desperate enough that they will just take that car, but that is not what I ordered and I called twice on different days to make sure they had the Tesla for me and I was assured they did. Could NOT get the car! Previously I was able to book the car for my son, and he picked it up at the airport. This time they would NOT do it without me being there personally. Same airport, same desk. Frustrating.Reviewed Jun 5 2026

Although I brought credit card Asurance/Insurance and Allstate documents proof of coverage, Budget inSt Thomas Airport insisted I needed something else. I prepaid for a Kia Forte or like vehicle and ended up with a Nisan Versa, a smaller vehicle. The gas tank was not full after being told to bring it back full, car was not washed and had body damage. Returning car was easy and fast.Reviewed Jun 5 2026

Drove from Detroit to Phoenix. 1 hour 45 minutes to get car at pick up. One person working counter. Forced to pay for upgrade because reserved car (or like) was not available. Car drove fine until 50 miles east of El Paso. Oil life left at 5% message came on. Middle of nowhere. No cell service. 90 degrees. No shade. Stressed about not making it to El Paso. Did make it and drove immediately to the first budget place (small one) rep there said oil change not needed to another 5k miles. Apparently, it was nit reset upon previous oil change. Unacceptable. Went to airport and swapped car out. Took 2 1/2 hours out of travel time. Horrible experirnceReviewed Jun 4 2026
