Rooms are beautiful! Parking fee...ridiculous! Pool closes at 10pm...what? Were ON VACATION!!! No liquor sold by poolside. Wifi signal pretty poor...
Rooms and location. Excellent!
It's very appropiate for kids. Good dinning areas. Reasonable timing at front desk for check in and out. Very pleasant and friendly staff. NONE
The location is great, the staff were very nice. Breakfast was good and had a good variety. Very clean and beautiful rooms. Awesome view on 3rd floor. Pool area was great! Will come back for sure.
I liked the fact the the hotel is located in nice neighborhood. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The stuff in reception and breakfast are pleasant and helpful. We had very bad experience staying in this hotel. I stayed 5 days and every day when I come back, I have to complain to clean my room, the hallways are filthy never vacumed, in addition the pool is always full with people will never enjoy it. Poor manage

everything my kids love the pool breakfast need more options

It was clean great service very nice, the breakfast was good the pool great I love it! I came back again ooh the bathroom very modern My kids loved it too and it has free internet and a night the music was great
Breakfast eggs were the really fake powdered version. Charge a little bit more and make the breakfast a winner.
Room Room not ready, too many people. Breakfast buffet was not available, due to many people
The best staff ever. Very courteous and knowledgeable. Breakfast had a nice variety and the juices were fresh. This is a new hotel, however the carpet was already coming apart by elevators on the 2nd/3rd floors. Flimpsy handles/towel bars in the bathroom. Room wasn't cleaned properly. Facetowels not restocked.A piece of trash on floor was not picked up for the entire 4 nt.stay. The bed also felt sandy.Shuttle will drop off, but not pick back up. Frontdesk not once picked up the phone. Not enough employees
This was our second visit. We love the historic and quaint atmosphere this hotel provides, exactly the experience we wanted in Old San Juan. This small hotel is not crowded and staff treat you like a personal guest. They go above and beyond to help you and ensure you enjoy your stay. It can be a bit noisy but at no fault of the hotel. When you stay on Fortaleza St you are in the center of the action and hear music from neighboring restaurants. We did not mind this. Being in the center of things was important to us and we felt part of the activity and excitement that is Old San Juan.
Friendly helpful staff. Excellent location. Iconoclastic décor. I very much enjoyed staying at this hotel, but it does not meet the lowest level of fire safety standards. There is only one open stairway leading to all the floors and no secondary means of escape--not even a fire escape. There is not separation between the lobby and the restaurant. There is no sprinkler system.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Joyce promptly answered my emails/questions before we got there. Location was perfect. Right in Old Town San Juan. Couldn't find an outlet in the bathroom. Made it a bit more difficult to get ready in the morning. Room was small but wasn't an issue for us because we were only in our room to sleep.
Hotel was very cleaned, staff was so attentive and personable, room was comfortable enough for 2 people.
We loved our stay at this cozy little boutique hotel in the heart of Old San Juan! Lots of character and small rooms (which we liked and found so comfortable). Loved the chandeliers in the bedroom and even bathroom! The staff was so accommodating and friendly and hauled my overstuffed, incredibly heavy bag all the way up 5 flights of stairs with no problem (they don't have an elevator yet). The rooftop was so unique and overlooked the city too! I would highly recommend if you're looking for a different kind of experience than the Hilton and big chain hotels. They're currently installing an elevator but the staff will gladly carry bags up the stairs for you.
The position is great , the staff is excellent, clean, nice, the best place to walk Old San Juan
This is a very charming little hotel in a great location in the middle of Old San Juan, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I highly recommend it. The bed was pretty hard. I overpaid because I booked through this site. I would have paid much less booking with the hotel directly. I recommend you do that.
I liked the location on Calle Fortaleza, close to good restaurants and to parking lot. The room was incredibly small. I need to talk to someone in the front desk to get my key, and they had a sign that says "for help text x number". Nobody answered until the next day when I had left already. How did I finally get my key? I opened the desk and there it was, no help, no security, no supervision. I just took it and kept going.
This hotel is right on this beach which caught my eye. They have a bar which lights up blue at night so it looks very pretty. The location is awesome! In the heart of all the bars/clubs..night life is never dull here. Condado is definitely a party town, lol. It's only like a 10-15 minute ride to old San Juan which is super convenient. The staff was very nice. Not sure why some reviews say the staff wasn't nice to them...maybe busy season or the customer had an attitude themselves! I could bother the staff at anytime time whether it be 2 AM or 2PM...and they'd assure me it wasn't a bother! The cleaning people were super friendly and were ALWAYS on time everyday to clean the rooms. Def recommend this place. The bar was pricey...$5 for the local beer, Medalla...hell no! LOL
Location was perfect. Some of the front desk staff were not customer service oriented.
The vrach, the restaurant next door Long complicated check in for a place with rooms like jail cells. Tiny bed, bad mattress, worn out sheets. Extra fees for everything. You can hear people from their rooms from down the hallway.
Room was dirty, the lobby was awafull dirty contains, broken furniture.
The pictures on the website looked nothing like the room-very very small room.
Location is good Bad air , to much noise ,bad elevador
The location was good, but there was no parking available. You are able to see the beach from a big window from the room. Staff is friendly. Elevators need to be remodeled. Bathrooms were dirty. There was no parking available.
beachfront veranda and bar rooms are noisy and small. Elevator works when it wants to
Close to the beach Room was very small, not really looking good, no control over A/C.
It's very convenient to get around in the area. I really enjoy the fact that the restaurants, bars, few other things were right there in the area. The hotel is OK it needs a lot of renovation the place itself but I only stay for three nights. If you're gonna stay for two or three nights that would be fine. The place needs some improvement in term of renovation, painting and so on....I guess you'll see you get there!
This place has a amazing location and beautiful views. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful . They will tell you where to go how to get there where to eat etc...... Is one of the only gay hotels listed and there was a lot of heterosexual couples staying there . It doesn't bother me but not lots of gays there . And they didn't have a bar or restaurant
Ocean view from Lobby The room was the size of a jail cell, towels were small, didn't smell fresh and I found women's hair on them. Wifi didn't work , front desk said it doesn't reach all the rooms. I asked to be moved but front desk told me there wasn't any rooms available (on a Monday, total BS) Next day , I was denied a late check out for the first time in 16 yrs of travel. Funny thing is one of the employees told me they were atleast 70% vacant. So I'm confused with I wasn't switched to a diff room with wifi and denied a late check out to 1130am
The hotel had so much character and thought put into every detail. our room was gorgeous! They were very accommodating about us leaving our luggage in a side room when we were several hours early for check in.
La Terraza is a beautifully restored hotel with tile flooring, alcoves, and a beautiful rooftop terrace. There are modern touches as well like walk in showers, flat screen TVs, and a rather reasonably priced mini bar. The beds were very comfortable and the view from the terrace was pretty impressive. Last but not least, Carmen, the front desk manager/coffee barista was incredibly charming, kind, and knowledgeable. If you're looking for a place to stay in Old San Juan, this is it! There is virtually no street parking available which I believe is just a symptom of that part of the city. However, there is a parking garage around the corner but it's a flat rate of $20/24-hrs so be prepared. We also had a difficult time getting to the hotel once we reached Old San Juan due to construction and lots of one way streets. I suggest avoiding the rental car and using some sort of public transport or your own two legs.
Proof super friendly and helpful and the place was awesome!!!! Perfect location
Quaint. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. It was a perfect location for seeing old San Juan The room we had was next to the kitchen so we heard noises throughout the night. But it wasn't bad and I would still come back. My wife and I loved the room overall.
The facilities and staff were excellent. Beautiful rooms, old world charm with modern water pressure and comfy beds. St. Germain is just down the street, and fabulous coffee right around the corner. The infinity pool is hoy tub sized, but the view is lovely.
Spa. And service The beach cafeteria takes too long and always gets the order wrong
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Facility was clean. Access to the ocean easy. Landscaping is mature and nice. This resort is confused. It has high end and empty jewellery stores but a down market casino and resultant clientele. The hotel has only one pool which doesn't function as a central location. The hotel itself has no atmosphere. Feels very loud and downmarket inside. The prices for food etc are extortionate. The hotel is located literally alongside the airport runway, so planes take off all day and evening beside you. Deafening noise on the beach. The beach is sketchy, not cleaned each morning. Bed service is managed by guys in a truck which spews exhaust over you and adds more noise. The beach isn't big enough to need that. Clientele smoke and in in case smoke weed on the beach so it blows all over you. Other clientele - the casino types - drink heavily in the beach and get loud etc. then there are the cell phone junkies talking loudly about their dreary lives at the top of their voices. Time to zone the beach.
Friendly staff. Nickle & Dimed. Pre-arranged amenaties, spa services and payment. All was lost somewhere between the concierge and front desk; so had to change plans and credit card.
An amazing property with incredible atmosphere A total 'rip off' with an almost non-existent breakfast, in fact the worst I have ever experienced anywhere!
The hotel was very interseting. Many small courts with great views. Hotel rooms were decorated with antique style furnishing. Hotel owner's art work (good) on display throughout. Great location. The beds were only full size vs queen or king. The A/C was kind of loud.
The Gallery Inn is wonderfully unique. The woman who greeted us and gave us a short tour was warm and pleasant. I would recommned this hotel to certain friends who enjoy unique accommodations. Our room had an excessively strong smell of mothballs. The owner's presence was somewhat disconcerting. I almost felt I was intruding rather than it being "our home away from home".
Amazing history and decor of the building, ideal location. hot water was a little tricky (but it's historical building); loud neighborhood music on Friday nights (I brought earplugs).
Excellent location, great friendly staff, wonderful artwork throughout the Inn. Beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Had to ask 3 times to have toilet paper brought to the room, as the maid never replenished the little bit that we had left.
The Gallery Inn makes a wonderful impression when you first arrive because there is so much old world charm and so much artwork and interesting items in the very cool space. The location in Old San Juan is also ecxellent. The customer service really falls flat. It was hit and miss with the staff. A couple of the staff were kind and somewhat hospitable, but there were several who weren't. The amenities were also lacking. If you are hoping for comfortable spaces to relax and read a book, you're really going to be disappointed. The breakfast consists of dry cornflakes, doll-size cups for coffee, and sliced bread, and store-bought lemon loaf. We heard a rumor that you could request eggs, but no one on staff mentioned this to us, and the guy in the "kitchen" certainly didn't give you the feeling that he would be happy to make anything...maybe it was his lack of eye contact or his back always turned to guests. We were happy to have stayed there once, but we wouldn't stay there again.
The Gallery Inn was great, location, service, but when we booked in the bathroom was across the hall and I was not informed until we actually got to the room. For $306 a night the bathroom should have been adjacent to the room. The bathroom was across the hall. For the price of the room this should have been pointed out to me before we were let into the room. Because you haul your suitcases up and down stairs. But for just one night I let it go.
The hotel was in an old restored villa. It was amazing. The service was great, the location in Old San Juan was close to all the sights, and the atmosphere was wonderful.
Great service, excellent atmosphere in a beautiful surrounding, very nice personal contact with the owner during owner's reception. Nothing.
Small room, with too many things inside. Price too high for his level.
My wife and I wanted something genuinely Puerto Rican and this did it. Only 1 day but very enjoyable in the center of Old San Juan with easy access to anything. Staff was super friendly. Even held our bags after check out so we could keep exploring before boarding a cruise. THEN they kept our bags again, 1 week later when we returned from our cruise and had another 5 hours to kill even though we didn't book another night. A+++
I loved the view from my window....El Morro:)) Having to valet park. No other option
Hotel is a little dated
the location. That's all a) no parking. Only valet , very slow car return. & 15 USD more... b one person for check in and one for check out only. Only one credit card terminal that decline my credit card. No other alternative. I used that same credit card the day before and hours later stillin San Juan ....and it worked perfectly... c) Breakfast at le Papillon. The two girls simply do not use their mouth for even saying hello, good bye. You can say thanks thousand times, it does not matter, they keep on ignoring you d) dinner at the other restaurant. They had a trouble with paperwork and could not serve alcohol...so they spent the entire dinner running around tables nervously...waiters, maitre ...everybody....polite at least but overwhelming....
It was close to cruise ship terminal. Staff friendly Clean Small pool Restaurant a bit pricey No beach For 250 a night I expected more Not a resort, just a hotel...no frills
Great breakfast, food was perfect. area surrounding hotel, looked a bit seedy. Short of staff at restaurant, but food was great.
The staff, very helpful
Location Air didn't work, room was not a good value for the price, bathroom needs updating.
Our reservation was for two rooms. When arrived at the hotel at 2:AM, they said it was only one. I showed them the Kayak confirmation email, and they provided us with the second room. The rooms were as perfect as they could be. We only stayed one night on the way to my mother-in-law's funeral. We got the rest, that we needed to face the next few days. Staff was very helpful. Nothing.
I received everything I was looking for. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location.
Poor. Did not clean the room one day.
Good service Anything
I guess the Outback at this location was a plus. Check in process. 2 workers working the front desk. One with her head down, another talking to another person on in maintenance. No feeling of being welcome at this property. Hotel room had cracked tile, mold and black spots in the tub in the bathroom. Also asked for a wine opener to enjoy a bottle of wine in our room. The bartender didn't have a wine opener!
Nice pool, though not for lap swimming. The jacuzzi was nice and hot, though it could use more jets. We enjoyed the Happy Hour with free beverages. The "free appetizers" are just taco chips and popcorn. The free breakfast is alright - get there early if you don't want to wait in a long line. Includes greek yogurt, fresh fruit, as well as hot foods. The hotel is a short walk from a beautiful beach, where the guest is supplied with free chairs and towels. Umbrellas may be available for those who arrive early. There are some great nearby restaurants, Metropol is one. "Old Town" is 6 miles away. Nice, but don't get stuck in all the gift shops unless you really enjoy that kind of thing. The WiFi is useless. There is loud music playing often, which can be heard in any room, as all rooms surround an atrium.
This hotel was clean and had a lot to offer for the price! Although not located on the beach it was only a 4 min walk and worth the scenic route! The breakfast and the free happy hour made the trip!
The pool was great but unfortunately no access to jacuzzi at night. Within walking distance to a nice beach. Service was extremely slow. Had to wait an hour for a tiny pizza at the pool area and it took us 45 mins to check out due to very slow service and not enough staff on a busy Sunday morning. Lastly, we ordered glasses to our room that never came and there was a dirty towel in the bathroom when we checked in.
Big surprise! We booked this hotel online without much to go on. nice place. all the amenities of a big, expensive place but so boutique ... and affordable.
The art on the walls of the hotel made it really stand out compared to other places I have stayed. It gave the place real authentic character. The hotel satisfied my expectations and needs.
continental breakfast, free coffee/juice all day, cool comfortable room, plenty of areas to hang out in, swimming pool, excellent staff. Not a single complaint.
Good price Nothing
I liked the clean, attractive rooms and public areas, especially the plantings in the courtyard. It is a lovely atmosphere to enjoy during breakfast. It took me awhile to learn thatnthe best wi-fi reception was in the reading room, but it was a comfortable place to review my emails.
The hotel was in a perfect location and staff was excelent. only thing was parking.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was very good and there are lots of restaurants and shopping close by as well as transportation. The beach was a short walk. Breakfast was fantastic and the rooftop conversation areas were unique.
great value everything as listed...no surprises great location, safe tourist area and friendly staff super free coffee machine available all day mini bar in room with more than reasonable prices will definitely be my first choice if I return to PR if you are there for a pre-cruise be forwarned that the breakfast area is small and although the staff are great they were overwhelmed but still managed to take care of everyone with a smile, just plan a little extra time for breakfast !
The hotel felt like a home away from home. Very cozy feeling during the morning breakfast. I was not a fan of the steamer, I would have preferred an iron.
Nice hotel with swimmingpool and Jacuzzi. Breakfast was good, service excellent and location good. Nice decor. All the extra tax!!! My booking on www.booking.com showed 667 dollars. When I checked in, I had to pay 823 dollars, more than 150 dollars in tax and service. So don't belive in the prices shown on booking.com!
The "garden" looks nice Doors with a traditional key, very hard to latch, lock or unlock. Everybody was slamming the doors all night long. Not sure how many people that stayed there have made a copy of the key. I've got an elevator shaft in my room. Yes, really. My room was built around an elevator shaft. Bed was on one side right next to the door which was next to the elevator door. Bathroom was on the other side, AC was there too. To get to the bathroom from my bed I had to go around behind the elevator shaft. Also didn't get much cold air from AC, it was too hot and you can imagine all the noise. My room was also oriented to the street where every five minutes somebody stopped their car with loud music all night long. I couldn't sleep at all. Too hot, noise coming from AC, elevator, people talking while waiting for elevator, people slamming the doors, noise from car stereos. I could just have stayed at the airport sleeping on the floor for free. Breakfast was very simple, served outside, in the hot, humid weather. Wind was constantly blowing my napkins and stuff away. Transportation from the airport did cost too much because the hotel was not listed in any zone. Paid $20. The hotel is exactly between the airport and the cruise port, which costs $10 to transfer between. They took a photocopy of my credit card including the CVV code and my ID, which violates PCI compliance BTW, when I asked them for how long they are going to store it, they couldn't tell me when they are going to shred it, probably never. The Italian restaurant near by, I don't even.... Just don't. Never again.
The location was the best aspect of the hotel - close to restaurants, shopping, etc. Although not directly on the beach, it was very close and it was easy to get to. The staff that worked the evening and night shifts were very pleasant and welcoming. The grounds were very nicely done, and there were many different places on the property to relax. The front desk employees during the day were not friendly at all, and displayed no customer service skills! The "free" breakfast needs great improvement -- finally stopped going down after two days of no fruit, tasteless pastries, and dry cereal. Additionally, the room/bed was quite small for two people.
Clean, pleasant staff, lovely facility. Only lack was breakfast offering, weak coffee...
My girlfriend and I stayed at Tres Palmas for 1 night on a Friday in June. The location and staff at Tres Palmas were definitely its best assets. The staff was helpful and the room was clean. The hotel was right on the beach, and only about a 7-10 minute drive from Condado, an area full of restaurants and shopping. For the price, this hotel was definitely worth it.
I really loved the rooftop terrace. Maybe it's the atmosphere or the full moon on top of us , we don't now but it really felt relax and I really was in need of that feeling. The hotel is at walking distance of all the old San Juan amenities so I really loved the area! Well it's a boutique hotel and the building was build maybe 200 or 300 years ago it Didn't have any elevator as i expected (only 4 floors use the stairs) but I did have a beautiful experience and the building is nicely decorated . The art through all the hotel was very interesting.
The location was excellent & the staff very friendly. The room is original & decor great, just a bit too tight for comfort. The breakfast request was for 7am, it arrived at 7:20, with taxi pick up at 8am. Maybe a selection of tea, not just green tea, and coffee ready & hot h20 would have taken off the edge.
Old world charm, quiet, helpful staff, in the heart of Old San Juan, friendly cats, beautiful art work, and a comfortable mattress. Nothing.
It is a very nice boutique hotel. It is close (walking distance) to all the attractions in Old San Juan. Very friendly staff. Our room had a dining table, family room, hammoc, and a niece view to San Juan harbor. Perfect price for Old San Juan. There is no parking like all the other hotels in Old San Juan (500 years old city). Some areas need to dust off more often than they do.
The best locaction and reasonable price. Welcoming and helpful staff. Charming old structure. Incredible to walk out the door and see the Capilla del Cristo right there. Because of it old structure lots of stairs and ups and downs and delicate plumbing. But that's part of the charm! No staff at night but phone in case any problems arise.
Close to everything, transportation, beaches, restaurants, and free breakfast! Beds next to the wall. Small beds. Couldn't get a room with a Queen or King size bed. Dark old hallways
Modern decoration Location, no parking availability and no free breakfast.
The rooms were decent. They had good AC and Wifi. Staff was always friendly. 4 blocks from beach. Casinos are walking distance. Overpriced, should've gone with a 'higher end' hotels, only a few more per night No parking, only 3 spots in front and 3 stop on the right side. Then they decided to close out 3 of the stop for handicap parking. Only other options were a paid parking garage a block away and a valet parking lot 4 blocks away. No pool but great view.
Staff was friendly Was dirty

The hospitality from staff, the room & the continental breakfast. N/A
Location and service
Cleanlines Is no food aroud
Some of the staff was not friendly , they should think about changing the breakfast menu from time to time (they serve the same thing every day )
It was very clean, the staff was extremely helpful none
Staff was great Lack of. Parking
It was right on the beach. Views were incredible. Staff were accommodating. Handicapped parking easily accessible, hotel staff bought a shower stool to accommodate my husband (handicapped room not available at the time). Restaurant on beach! No. The thing that was a concern was that a handicapped room was not available, but the staff indicated they could provide a shower chair and made that available. Very private, not-crowded beach.
Location to the airport and the beach. no
Chef Jerome was amazing. The outdoor showers were different and an awesome experience. the zen music and overall vibes from the guest house were truly amazing and I couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The dreamcatcher was like an oasis. I feel recharged and better overall after staying there for a few nights. Truly it is a unique and life changing experience! The distance between our room and the bathroom was a bit far, especially in the middle of the night. You have to walk outside in the dark if you are staying in an artist room. But I guess bags apart of the whole experience.
This place is run by some buddhist (?) owners, so the atmosphere is very pleasant, peaceful and quiet. Guests have the possibility to take part in the community life (for example to join yoga lessons) but are not forced to anything. The only limitation is that if you want to use the kitchen, you are asked not to make meat as it is strictly vegetarian. The rooms are very well designed and very clean. The public spaces are also very nice and clean with a lot of trees, bushes, gekons and birds. As the house is in the gated community just one vlock from the beach, it is away from main traffic and therefore very quiet. We felt like in another world and did not mind at all that there are shared bathrooms only. I highly recommend to stay in this place if you want to rest.
I loved the helpful staff and community vibe. The best part though was how magical everything looked and felt - it seemed like a tropical secret garden!
The location is very good if you like to visit old San Juan. It only costs about $20( for two) taxi to get to the hotel and cost $15( for two) to get to the cruise ship port. There are only small window close to the ceilings, but the rest of room is good. Bathroom is very good with the price we paid.
The price was great for the location. Everything in old san juan was right at our fingertips. The room was kept very clean. You could smell the detergent in the towels and sheets everyday. Excellent housekeeping staff. The condition of the room was a bit outdated though. The rug felt grimy on our barefeet and there was rust on the fringes of the shower. This was great for a one or two night stay but I'd probably look for better quality for anything longer than that.
Good location. One of the better rooftop restaurants in the city.
Staff was unusually helpful and informative. Bistro inhouse was excellent and the staff were professional and very nice. Rooms were clean and quiet. Relaxing experience. Highly recommended. The hotel is not close to Old Town, but it is in a quiet and historic neighborhood.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, clean, great hotel for the price
It was very accessible to Old San Juan and very comfortable.
Location Run down dirty
The free and fast internet pc in the lobby free parking was almost impossible to find and the only reasonably priced parking lot was more than four blocks away.
the staff was very, very helpful & friendly, the great location
Close to Old Town. The breakfast offered was Poor and when we booked I was not offered the cruise 10% discount if prepaid.
The location, the helpful staff, room was comfortable. No in-room wi-fi was my major gripe; other minor things: shower was too small; room was too cold with A/C and too warm without it; most channels on the TV list didn't actually work
Staff was very courteous and helpful. The location was very convenient. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The street is very noisy at night. The corner bar rocks until 4:00 AM on the weekend. You are on your own for parking.
