Not what I purchased
Cons: I purchased a specialty car that was shown as a smaller suv on Kyak. When I got to Thrifty I was given a compact car. They asked if I wanted to upgrade to what I got online- for double the price. WILL NOT go through Kayak/Thrifty again!

Great car and value, counter could use more assist
Pros: The service was perfect and the assistants extremely friendly. My car was clean inside and out. The price was fair.
Cons: The location seemed understaffed so, pick-up processing was slow.

Pros: The car we did finally receive was very clean, only 1400 miles on it.
Cons: After reserving a 5 passenger specialty car, we were given a Toyota Yaris! Try and get 5 passengers and 2 bags in that! After calling the manager we were "upgraded" to a Impreza. Then when I looked at my receipt we were overcharged for each day. The clerk did not care and refused to correct it, "whatever it rings up is what it is"!. When asking for the manager again, we were ignored totally. Finally the shuttle driver took care of us ( we had to take a shuttle back to the airport to get everything corrected, then shuttle back again to get the car.) Took almost two hours of our vacation to pick up our rental car. UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE! The clerk was incompetent and the manager available by phone only, not of much help. Called the 1-800 national #, got hung up on, then they told us to take the car and they would adjust the price after, but it was too late, we were on the way back to the airport. Do not run a business like this with a "new" clerk who has no clue what he is doing.

Unfriendly and awful cars
Pros: Price was reasonable
Cons: Bait and switch when choosing an intermediate car, ended up with a sub-compact. Staff were completely unfriendly to myself and other customers. It's the only rental agency at the airport that's off property in a rundown building.

Confirm Receipt Pricing
Pros: At booking fee was ~$40. At pick up they changed it to $100 before I called them out on it and made them adjust it to my quoted fee

They didn't have my rental car.
Cons: I waited two hours for a car they didn't have. Horrible company.

Slow check out
Pros: The car and the price were excellent. Perfect for our short term need.
Cons: Long line developed while agent spent an extra large amount of time helping a non English speaking couple at the counter. There didn't seem to be a method to better triage the long line that developed while still offering a means to meet their unique needs. A little wait is understandable but, the near 30 min waiting just to get the car was a great disappointment.

Cons: Thrifty is not right across from the airport like the other car rentals. And due to construction, we had to take quite a shuttle ride to get to the car rental

Pros: The car was exactly needed for a quick weekend trip and was a great price. Had a great dropoff experience- friendly quick service and the shuttle was able to immediately bring me to the terminal.
Cons: Pickup took about 30 minutes- counter was swarmed with people and not enough staff members to process.

Met my needs
Pros: Car was what I requested, shuttle service was quick but did not know about leaving the airport, drop of easy
Cons: check in at Thrifty took over 45 minutes- due to others ahead of me.

free upgrade, but hidden costs
Pros: I got a free upgrade and the car was very nice
Cons: purchased insurance through Kayak, Thrifty doesn't take it...

No heat/gas tank not full.
Pros: Not much
Cons: I didn't like that the heat didn't work when we were renting a car in February. In order to exchange the vehicle I would have had to drive an hour and a half to do so. Gas tank not full. Manager took money off for the heat but wouldn't do anything about the gas because I didn't make it clear the tank wasn't full before drop off. Horrible experience.

Pros: Pick up office with Teresa and the shuttle bus driver were excellent. Very friendly and helpful

Pros: The host did not have my car ready (30mins wait) and charged me to upgrade because she didn't want to clean the car I purchased.

Cons: Not located onsite, but didn't tell you that when made the reservation, added significant, unnecessary time to our trip and would've booked from an onsite agency, had I known

Everything went smoothly and mostly just as expect
Pros: The people were friendly and accommodating. It did take a little longer to actually pick up the vehicle as it still hadn't been cleaned. I did expect a RAV4 and gott a VW instead, but it worked out fine.
Cons: In spite of having a reservation, it seemed to take a bit of time to pick up the car. Also, since they had just washed it, it was still wet and hard to see all of the scratches in the door that we saw later. Let me be clear, the scratches didn't bother us, but I was concerned that they might say something about them when it was returned. That didn't happen though, so all was well.

Cons: The entire process lacked order, efficiency and professionalism. I had to restate ever detail of my reservation, the car was not ready and the long line was customers was extremely unhappy with the experience in Charlotte.

Great car; service needs work
Pros: Car requested was great - just had to insist on getting the car class quoted.
Cons: Service representative tried to assign a standard instead of full sized car. Then insulted me by claiming the full size Malibu I reserved was really a premium car sometimes offered as a full size and the Chrysler 200 is both a standard and full size when the Malibu is not available. The service staff returned a Malibu to the front door while all this was happening and I got the car expected.

Pros: I liked that they had cars to rent.
Cons: I didn't like the fact that they are not consistent. One person accepted my drivers license TWICE and the third person I tried to rent a car from denied me because of the crack in it. It should've been consistent as it stands, I could not rent a car for the week. How sad to run a company like this!!!

Pros: Everyone who worked there was very polite and nice.
Cons: I was given an economy sized car when I reserved an intermediate. It's an offsite location that was understaffed. It took so long to get my car that I didn't even bother arguing about the size difference.

Good rental company, but offsite
Pros: friendly service, friendly bus drivers, nice car didn't have to wait to be picked up or dropped off at airport

Incorrect opening hours posted on Google
Cons: Thrifty failed to update their company hours on Google meaning that they closed a full two hours before advertised. We were subsequently stuck with the car for an extra day. Absolutely farcical for a car rental company, especially one based beside a god damn airport.

Never did rent a car
Cons: When we got there (off-site), they had no cars--literally no cars. They said that maybe in a half an hour but couldn't guarantee when we would get a car. We had people in front of us waiting. The man ahead of us decided to return to the airport and go to another agency. We did the same thing and our son picked us up. What a sham! No wonder they have such low rates. Never again from Thirty.

Pros: I guess the price was decent.
Cons: Customer service was very aloof at both pick up (Charlotte airport) and drop off (Raleigh Durham airport). I joked with a friend that they stopped just short of throwing me the keys in the parking lot, but seriously, there was very little explanation of policies, etc. I know renting a car is mostly the same, and im not saying i need an explanation of every little thing, but the staff was not communicative to me, and talked more to each other and I felt like i was an unwelcome distraction for them. I reserved an SUV and was given a compact-- I had to remind them of my reservation. Car wasn't clean. Smudges on the steering wheel and a piece of food on the turn signal. Also, no clicker for the car, kind of annoying. Tire tread was questionable (40K miles on the car, and they probably hadnt been changed) which brought to mind safety concerns, especially driving in the rain (which I did a lot of for my whole three days).

Cons: Having to wait for bus to go to off site facility. Off site facility appeared old and run down.

Pros: Our shuttle driver Was great. When I told him where we were headed and the route we were taking, he told us a quicker way to get there. Checking in process was quick and the car we had was great .
Cons: Having to take a shuttle offsite , but that's the price you pay for getting a great deal!
