Atlantic City rental
Pros: The car was exceptionally clean. The agent couldn't have been more knowledgeable and helpful even though it was the end of the night. Pickup and drop off was a breeze. After entering the location I was on my way within 10 minutes.

Ask more questions and look after your money!
Pros: Pick up and drop off were fine, car was ok, just as we expected. We rented a car for one week firs, then we called and extended our rental for 4 more days. But when we dropped off the car we got a receipt with charges for two full weeks. When we asked why, we were told what no matter how many days of the week we used the car, they will charge for a full week anyway, Than my husband asked to get this car back, so we can use it for 3 more days since we paid for it anyway, Herts agents refused , saying our rental is over. We got no car and were charged for it anyway. So watch for your money, ask how much you will be charged and get it in written too!
Cons: Overcharges without warnings or explanation.

Cons: They allow user to make reservation at the same time as their office is closed for business. I was allowed to make reservation to pick up a car at 6pm at an office which is closed at 6pm. Sure enough, the office was closed when I got there and were forced to pay for the whole reservation without really using it.

Pick up horrible/ drop off fantastic
Pros: At drop off a Hertz employee noticed I was traveling by myself with two toddlers and took me right to my departure drop off so that I didn't have to take the shuttle and handle my many bags alone.
Cons: Pick up- only one employee at desk. Waited 90 minutes. Told to pick up at spot 15, the wrong car was there so I had to go back in twice while traveling alone with two toddlers. Worst experience ever.

Cons: There were only two people at the desk who were in no hurry, and the line was really long.

Pros: The drop off was easy
Cons: The pick up took forever so it already started off wrong. Then, the car was a 2015 Chevy cruze & the blue tooth option was not available. It was a horrible inconvenience. For the couple of dollars I saved, I would've rather paid more & had that available.

To much exchange
Pros: That I have an upgrade.
Cons: First two cars where damaged. I had to drive all the way to Baltimore airport to get an exchange.

Not as advertised
Cons: I was charged at least $30 more than the kayak advertised rate. The car was one class smaller than I chose and it's battery died and needed to be jumped ...twice.

They booked my car at the wrong location
Cons: I arrived at the PHL airport and after WAITING 23 minutes for a courtesy bus, I find out that my reservation as sent to NE Philly. I had to rebook at 3 times the price!!!!!!!!

Hertz was great
Pros: My airline cancelled my connecting flight (not due to weather or anything if the sort.) I would have been stuck in the airport for 15 hours if it wasn't for hertz being available. I reserved online and checking out at the counter was a breeze. All employees were helpful and pleasent. I dropped my car off where I was supposed to and all was good.
Cons: The fact that my airline cancelled my flight last minute, no warning, won't do a refund......... hertz saved me.

Car was fine, customer service was terrible.
Pros: The car operated smoothly for the most part and was all we needed for a short trip.
Cons: I had an unfortunate dilemma in that i made this reservation weeks ago, and then a week before the pick-up my credit card was cancelled due to fraud. On site I was told there was still balance due and that I couldn't use another method of payment outside of another credit card. When I got my partner to finally take a cab over herself and use her credit card, we had to cancel my reservation and start a brand new one because I couldn't pay the full amount. The new rate popped up double the original rate. Throughout this interaction the sales rep was unhelpful and her demeanor was uninterested. While we were checking a price with a competitor in the same venue she went left on a short break and her partner rang us up and brought up yet another even higher price. We had to wait till the former rep came back to get the 2nd price back. Overall this experience left a bad taste in our mouth about using the Hertz service.

Pros: The car drove very nice.
Cons: The car was dirty at pickup the Hertz employee stated that there was no water to wash the car there was stains in the door when the doors the outside was dirty the glass was dirty the car was 30 on the console. He did offer if I was to go wash the car they will reimburse me I had limited time I pay for I think six days around on what and I expected a clean car but did not get one and had no time to read book very disappointed that Hertz.

Service was lacking, associates were rude and un-a
Cons: Service was lacking, associates were rude and un-accommodating. I didn't like being patronized and made to feel I was bothersome. I would have appreciated associates act like they're there to help.

Pros: The staff at the Hertz airport location desk and parking lot booth were wonderful. Personable and very helpful (a little slow moving, but otherwise friendly and competent!) Thank you.

Bad drop off location
Cons: Being from California, I was completely unfamiliar with central Philadelphia so when the drop off address is WRONG and also doesn't specify that it's not a Hertz, but instead a Marriott valet, that can cause quite the stress before a flight. Needless to say, I got lost. At drop off I was rushed and left my pillow in the back seat unknowingly- you would think the man who took the car would say something to me, but he didn't..oh well.

Cons: I was told to go to the airport because they did not have any cars. The airport is 30mins away. Once I arrived at the airport I was told that my reservation would not be honored. I had to return to the first location who all of a sudden had a car to rent. The first location promised me that I would be give a free day for the inconvenience that was not honored. The whole rental was a nightmare. The gas tank meter did not work so I was never sure of the gas level. Once I returned the car I had to wait another 20 mins while they made sure the gas meter was indeed broke.

Felt like a scam
Pros: The manager and staff on duty went outside the rules Hertz to get us a car for the price Kayak had booked for us.
Cons: The pickup address was the Philadelphia train station, and we were at the airport. When I called Hertz company I was told that I'd need a new reservation through them, which was more than twice what we would have paid had we been at the train station. We had no idea how to get to the train station. We were told that the hertz office there was closed for the night, but if we could be there at 7:00 in the morning, we would be able to pick up the car before our reservation was cancelled. It really felt like we were being extorted, because Hertz would not simply change the address.

Pros: The rental process was so easy and after talking with me the agent actually upgraded my rental at no extra cost. The pick up and drop off areas were very clean and my car was brand new. Highly recommend them.

not the right location
Cons: Location should have been PHL - Philadelphia airport, but it wasn't and it cost me $110 more to rent the car for 24 hours. I am not happy!

Cons: 1. 5 hour rental= $140===>really absurd car was not cleanup prior to rental; dirt and garbage inside the car windshield was so dirty that I had to stop and clean it prior to driving..then no windshield washer fluid. poorly done by the philly airport hertz people

Cons: PHL representative was very stingy with the meter for gas. charged me 25 unnecessarily for "not returning on full" when the indicator was halfway on the full line. not to mention this was how much gas i received in the car in LGA when i picked it up.

Pros: New vehicle Clean vehicle
Cons: Waited 15 minutes for shuttle, caught a ride with Avis bus Directed to a parking place all the way across the lot to get my car, and the space was empty. Had to walk all the way back across to office to get assigned another car. Neither of the above would have been bad if it hadnt been 100 am and after dealing with a plane delay.

Pros: The car was in decent shape -- clean and ran well.
Cons: Shuttle from the airport took 20-25 minutes to arrive. Driver was rude. Service was rough at the lot. Car had 40k miles. Gas policy is outrageous.

Kayak Reservation denied at Hertz location in PHL
Cons: Hertz left me stranded in their PHL airport office. My reservation was DENIED because my two credit cards that I use all the time were not considered credit cards. The first card I used there was the card I used on the Kayak web site. They recommended a nearby competitor. SO I walked with all my suitcases and bags on wet, snowy, sidewalk-less, cold, dark streets to "National" who accommodated me on-demand for 1) a lower price and 2) better car. It would have been nice for HERTZ to drive me over there, but oh well. Perhaps a poor review and stopping my business with them for over 20 years might send a message. Be careful out there people.

Pros: Wayman offered a new service in which he drove me directly from the Hertz location to my gate, at no additional charge.
Cons: The communication could have been better re: what I needed to clean or remove and what I could leave behind, to expedite my leave-taking process.

Hertz at Philadelphia International Airport is ran
Pros: The car ran.
Cons: Basically everything. The $50 i agreed to online and commited to during pickup for a single day of rental almost turned into $130 at drop off. Car took forever to pickup because they overbooked rentals so I almost was left without a vehicle. The windshield wipers were terrible which didn't facilitate the 3 hour trip through the rain. The brakes were equally terrible. I dropped off my family at Hertz in the airport before going to fill up the gas tank but meanwhile an employee checked the car in and charged me $10 per gallon (local gas prices = $2 per gallon) while I had asked to revert the charges so I could make a quick trip to a gas station considering I showed up almost 2 hours early for the return. The answer I got was "it's too late, already done". I asked for the manager who agreed to give me a one time "discount" on the gas and charged me only 200% of the local prices rather than 500%.....yay. The manager asked me to do a phone survey which I agreed to but he used MY phone to dial the number and then proceeded to ask me questions and do the phone survey HIMSELF. In fact, when he asked me how likely i was to ever recommend Hertz on a 0 to 9 scale I answered 3 and I watches him press the number 9 on the krypad. Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable.

Cons: I indicated on the website i would pick up from Philadelphia airport. When I arrived at the counter they told me the price was for a facility other than the airport and the difference in cost would be an increase from approx $150 to near $600. I canceled the reservation and booked through Thrifty for 1/2 the cost. Thrift was great.
