Pros: Easy to pick up
Cons: No possibility to choose car but we were satisfied with our vehicle

Low rates but sky high credit card hold!
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Payless charges a $495 hold on your credit card. Other rental car competitors charge much less ($200). It's unacceptable to expect customers to have that much available. The rate at Payless is not much lower than other rental car companies. I'd suggest taking your business elsewhere.

Pros: Pricing was good. Once computers were up, customer service was good.
Cons: Had to wait for the computers to come up. We were their 1st customers & equipment was slow to start. Didn't like the drop off procedures. Had to walk all the way down to the counter to verify full up on gas & to return paperwork with a line to stand in to do that. Also, didn't like all the vehicles had more than 35,000 miles on them.

Scam on prepaid gas refill deal
Cons: Over charged on gas at return station after prepaying for the gas because "machine was not working". Had to go to the counter to get it refunded. I suspect it's a scam that some people may not catch or not be willing to dispute because of time constraints or inconvenience. I would not use Payless rental again and no one should!!

Terrible Customer Service
Cons: Showed up and none of the charges were what was quoted when I booked online. I had called prior to booking to ensure that everything was clarified. The Agent was extremely unhelpful when I asked for clarification and did not resolve any issues. I cancelled the reservation and went to Enterprise which was nearly half the cost, and had much better service.

Checkin was awful
Cons: Checkin process took 45 min. No full size cars available so the person tried to put us in a truck. When we refused, she was less than friendly. As a last resort, she went to a partner counter and got us a full size rental car. She should have done tgat in the first place.

Good Value, Poor Execution
Pros: Good vehicle, they worked to get my reservation
Cons: Didnt have the vehicle I reserved. The vehicle wasnt in full working condition

Rental Lied and Lied and Lied
Pros: The car had a fuel tank of gas The car was clean The car was brand new
Cons: The agent told me that the car class i reserved only wasn't available and i would have to upgrade (there were cars in my class available) The agent added optional roadside and claimed it was required The agent refused to correct the issue when i immediately addressed it I was second in line and waited 45 minutes while the agent argued with another customer about why she could not refund a bad charge BNA airport is a hassle to pick-up a car from returning the car required another trip inside the airport because the rental was not in the log only had kias (I hate KIA) agent lied about the MPG claiming the car was rated at 55 mpg while the mfg claimed 31 mpg agent lied about the passenger capacity claiming it only had 2 seats; there were 5 (she was only interested in selling the upgrades) Dishonest Culture

Pros: It was convenient on location. All rentals were at the airport so you didn't have to shuttle anywhere else.
Cons: Pricing!!! Friends traveling with us waited a week after us and got their rental 50.00 cheaper. Same place - same process! Frustrating.

The worst car rental i have seen
Pros: Nothing to like in payless service. The worst thing is the front desk people.
Cons: The service providers and the front desk people doesn't respond to the customers. I forgot to fill the gas tank and they charged me 9.89$ per gallon. Even i am talking phone to the front desk people they suddenly shut the phone and not responded anymore. Nashville payless service is the worst service that people having in all of rental services.

Very good value
Pros: I prefer to drive a smaller car, but they're not so popular in Nashville. Payless had the best price and the small car.
Cons: The car had been smoked in by a previous driver.

Didnt even get car we booked
Pros: Fast return.
Cons: Didn't even get close to the class C car we bought. We got an A, and they only discounted us 4 dollars for the weekend.. The A car had SO many scratches and dents on it. It wasn't washed. The little kia blew smoke from the exhaust when we got on the highway. Such a crappy car for the price. Slow pickup.

Pros: The roadside assistance person (Karen) who I frequently talked to was nice, but could not offer me any options.
Cons: The rental car broke down and the roadside assistance could not send me help or a replacement vehicle for over 3 hours. I was stranded alone on the side of the highway for that long at night. It was unacceptable.

Cons: Reserved a full size car....verified that morning....got to desk and no one there. Another rental company took over and only had a compact at the price I paid

Pros: They were polite and the wait was about an hour, as they had estimated but I had already made other arrangements.
Cons: I had reserved a car 2 weeks in advance; I arrived when scheduled and no cars were available for me or several other customers. The anticipated wait time was about an hour. Worried that it could be much longer, I rented from another agency.

Pros: Price was attractive. I was processed promptly when I returned the car.
Cons: No one was at the counter when I arrived. I had to wait for a person from Budget to go to back area and send out Payless person to process my lease paperwork. The car was a very cheap, strip version of a Chevy Impala. Seat was not comfortable. I think the car was several years old.

Watch them closely and don't sign blind
Pros: Nice courtious staff
Cons: Very deceptive... I was told to sign here and here; agent never said sign for loss damage waiver. I never accept that. I should have looked more closely, but they need to tell you what you are signing, not just "sign here". Bad business practices... I won't be back!

Good not great
Pros: Price. Convenience of onsite kiosk and pickup.
Cons: Took 30+ minutes to sort out pricing from kayak at pickup. Good customer service but tried to upsell too many options. Didn't have compact cars available, but larger van was nice alternative. Could have been cleaner.

Cons: They told us they ran out of cars when we had reserved one. We didn't know what to do and had to get a cab and pay exorbitant fares to get to our hotel

Cons: The lady who waited on us at pick up charged us for RSA without asking. This was very unprofessional. Luckily the gentleman fixed it when we dropped the car off.

Nice car! But cost more than stated.
Pros: It was a great, new car. Pick up was uneventful but finding the car wasn't the greatest. But it was the size of the airport.
Cons: It ended up costing $75 more than originally stated. It ended up being maybe an hour extra maybe but we were charge for like 3 extra hours. I think we picked it up 15 minutes earlier. They get you for every single extra minute by charging you an extra hour no matter if it is 2 minutes or 58 minutes. AND trying to find the drop off was insane. That added a whole extra hour to our time! The signage is horrible and completely missed it 3 times. They had one agent handling 3 different companies. These companies end up being the cheapest when reserving a rental but in the long run probably are not worth it because you end up paying so much more in the end.

Terrible car rental
Cons: I reserved a Large car because I was traveling with 2 kids and my wife. We had two car seats, 1 facing forward and the other backwards, along with a crib, stroller and our large suitcase. When we arrived the attendant said he had one car left and it was a midsize with no offer to refund any of the fees. When we go to the car it took 30 minutes to get the car seats in along with the other luggage because it was like a puzzle, we almost could not get everything in. I sat in the passenger seat and had my knees up on the dash as there was no room left after putting the car seat in and having to push the seat all the way forward. I have heard of upgrades on car rentals but never a downgrade and not even an apology. I call the 800# number the following day to complain and they took down all my information and said I would get a call within 72 hours. 72 hours is pretty much the end of my trip, so much for getting the car I reserved. Oh and I am still waiting for that call or email from the customer service center and we are on day 5. I will never use Payless and I would suggest that you don't either. Read Twitter if you want more feedback.

Pros: I liked the price per day and the convenience of airport location and unlimited mileage.
Cons: Back seat was quite dirty. Long waiting time in line at reservation desk to pickup car even though I had made the reservation on line earlier in the week. Reservations don't get any priority service it seems.
