Staff was accommodating, put the flower in the room I asked for. Upgraded us to a better room after checking in, was attentive with needs for ice and deliveries Pool wasn't open, it was easy to get lost and enter the construction areas of the hotel. We couldn't get into teatime which was frustrating
Love the charm of its period decor. N/A
Jefferson staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful!
The location to downtown Richmond is excellent with many restaurants nearby. Wish there was a schuttle to the airport which is only 15 minutes away.
We stayed only 1 night downtown.....but it was wonderful. Valet parking was quick and courteous. Front desk employees were friendly and helpful. The shuttle service was a wonderful bonus since there is so much to do in Richmond. The room was clean and tastefully decorated and the bar and restaurant were also wonderful , clean, and the staff courteous. Would definitely stay again.
Easy check-in, adjustable beds, free coffee, close to the Richmond Coliseum, free shuttle Valet took way too long--both days seemed to lack enough employees. We had to wait in a long line for 20+ minutes during both check-in and check-out.
Enjoyed that the building was a urban refurbish. Every staff person went beyond what I expected regarding service. Our room was made available early in the day to meet our schedule. Very prompt transportation service. Would have been nice to have a more upscale restaurant in the hotel, but the large bar area and regar dining area were great for breakfast, lunch and snacks.
Friendly atmosphere The price
The staff was extremely cheerful, ready to assist, and helpful. The location was very convenient. Overall a very pleasant stay. The bed was a bit too firm.
parking is not included, valet parking rated @ $ 23 per day. For those on personal trips: Across the street, public parking is available at $8-$18 per day, depends on timing.
clean and nice the heater made way to much noise. hard to sleep.
The location was amazing. The ice machine on our floor didn't work, but it did on others.
I got an upper-floor room and the river view was top notch. The staff were courteous and helpful. It was walking distance to the restaurants in Shockoe Slip. The towel in the shower was dirty - as in, big black streak across it as if it were used while working on your car, and the streak was on the front-facing side of the towel on the rack. I haven't seen that in all my travels before. The other towels in the room were fine but that one was a negative surprise. The room itself was only okay and quite outdated. The parking garage was very tight, hard on two-way traffic, crowded so you had to go up and up to find a spot, and expensive.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Great shuttle service around town so I did not have to worry about parking while on a tight schedule.
Beware of Parking. Was charged $27 for parking. You can park on the street for free
Desk staff were very friendly. View from upper floors is nice.
Check in fast Common areas shabby and not comfortable, lady's room not clean
Nothing this time. Even with Platinum status, I did not get a high floor as requested. The floor lobby was noisy past midnight every night. A couple was given keys to a room occupied by another couple on my floor - that created drama in the middle of the night. There was cockroach in my bathroom. The HVAC made noise when running.
Extremely professional and welcoming staff Really nothing
Good position Found the room tatty, black wallpaper under sink, hairdryer fallen off wall, whole place needed up dating
The carriage house rooms that are disconnected from main Inn is where I stayed and it was lovely. The room was clean, the bathroom newly remodeled, the Queen bed soft and inviting. I had to leave before the included breakfast but I liked everything I saw. The area was near downtown but still a bit sketchy. I started walking to find a cafe or restaurant but then thought better of and turned around. The parking was valet for an extra $12 or street parking but if you parked on the street (if you found any) you would get towed if you didn't move by 7am or 8am.
The decor and facilities were charming and attractive. The staff was friendly and attentive. Breakfast options were good. The only downside was parking, which was basically impossible to find without paying for valet parking.
In room refrigerator made an awful noise, had to unplug
location price, old.
Wonderful venue. Very historic. Staff was very helpful checking our luggage for the day. No self parking
Price, and location specific to event I was attending. Very inflexible and relatively early check out time 11am only negative but well offset by price and location.
It was comfortable . the staff was super & pleasant enjoyed my stay No place to park
Never disappoints with convenience, location, charm. Had a different room this time, garden suite, and liked it. Spacious room, very comfortable bed, no noise issues. Lighting in the bathroom was a bit dim, but otherwise great.
We were originally placed in a ground floor room (after requesting a room on a higher floor), which was dark and had a window into the hallway corridor. It felt as if you were in a dungeon. After our first night (of a two night stay) we discovered two bedbugs in our bed. We immediately notified the front desk which kindly agreed to change our room. Although the second room we were placed in was much nicer and on the top floor of the hotel, our stay was less than comfortable given the fact that it was difficult to sleep when imagining bedbugs crawling in bed with you. The hotel staff did not offer to compensate us in anyway for our troubles other than a gift mug. Although the hotel was booked for the weekend and we had heard good things about it, I would strongly recommended finding somewhere else to stay if visiting Richmond.
Location made it easy to walk to nearby attractions, restaurants and bars. Old town feel and culturally diverse area. Felt safe with strong police presence. Not a downside really, but no easy way to carry luggage to room. Uneven walks and paths for us that like our rolling luggage. You get what expect from a hotel built in the 1800's. Neat place. Rooms are dingy.
Close to many Civil War Museums. Edgar Allen Poe lived across the street. Was a frequent visitor. Breakfast area was unattended. Trash piled up in can. However, I would stay again and recommend to others.
Room was excellent but had no mini fridge. Only window in the room was painted shut.
Impeccable Customer Service. From the first step out of my vehicle, and it being promptly valeted, to checking out and the Front Desk kindly offering to hold our bags or load into our cars for us. Simply remarkable. The room was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. Reading the history of the hotel and all of the reclaimed and repurposed features was inspiring. Fabulous atmosphere, top-notch cocktails and the Maple-Pine's dinner was out of this world! The Quirk is doing it right! We were disappointed the rooftop wasn't open yet, but, that just gives us more of a reason to return!
Parking is way too expensive but guess that's how you keep room rates down. HATE paying that much for parking
Location to the convention center is excellent with the sky walk. The staff was outstanding on all fronts. You really have to pay $15 a day for Internet? Is Marriott the last major chair stuck in the 20th century?
Staff was very courteous. I chose the wrong time to come kids were running up & down the hall screaming.
Pleasant stay & location Dirty nightstand
Location, parking, cleaniliness, free breakfast Nothing
King suite was nice size and we heard no noise from out in the hallway. Location was very convenient for the marathon start and finish $10 parking charge
Beautiful location with great access to nearby venues. New construction so everything was well designed and up-to-date. Friendly staff! The cleaning ruined it for me. The bathroom was poorly cleaned before I got there and during my stay. Multiple issues with this prompted me to write a review. I'm hoping they correct this issue moving forward.
We wanted to stay in downtown Richmond but the other hotels were very expensive. The hostel was perfect with a spacious room to ourselves and a private bathroom. The breakfast in the morning was simple and very clean. The walls were a bit thin, you could hear every conversation in the hallway and every door that closed in the hall.
