- Yorkville location is decent - Restaurant is good, and bar is solid - Big bathrooms and spacious rooms are pleasant - Area under construction, lots of noise, poor views, and inaccessibility to hotel via car/Uber. - Really crappy facilities. Half gym, tiny pool. - Under staffed, so it takes 30 minutes to check in - AWFUL value for money. It honestly feels like a holiday inn with ikea furniture, and some fancy tiling. There is nothing unique or special here. Very bland in taste and design. - This should be the lead link on overpriced dot com.
I liked everything in the room. Was very comfortable and relaxing. The bar was just great.
My room was very beautiful, comfortable, and didn't make me want to rush back to Florida. But it was VERY cold and the maid gave me more blankets. The concierge helped with my every need, even finding someone to cover for him while he carried my hot coffee cups to my room. I'M A 79-year-old widow of 1 year after a 57-year marriage. This was my first trip alone- sad, scary. I was there for the wedding of our youngest son. My other 5 kids stayed at a different hotel with their families. Now I have a Toronto daughter-in-love! The Hyatt completed a memorable occasion. My travel agent didn't specify I needed a handicap room. I checked in late and a handicap room wasn't available. The manager apologized and when I returned from breakfast the next morning, they had moved all of my belongings into a lovely lower floor room with handicap accommodations. The TV didn't work and the maintenance man, also a kind, understanding employee, removed the tv and replaced it immediately.
Everyone we dealt with at the hyatt was kind, considerate and very helpful! I was traveling with my 80 yr old mother and their concierge desk was exceedingly accommodating, especially Sarah, in finding us places to eat! Their location was excellent as well, directly across the street from ROM.
Would give the staff a higher rating except my only request - a wakeup call - was ignored and caused some early morning anxiety.
An excellent hotel, with large rooms, very comfortable beds, modern bathroom etc. Also good pool on the top floor, with glass roof, and view of the CN Tower. Friendly staff, and pleasant dining room. Valet parking service to be recommended. Strange to have a set/a la carte breakfast, when most hotels now have a breakfast buffet, although what was offered was indeed good. Unfortunately, Bloor Street was a construction site, which we had not known, and this made access very difficult.
it was nice the rooms were nice. change rooms at pool area were very nice. staff were friendly and helpful. pool itself was a little dated. gym was being renovated at time of visit which was inconvienent.
Efficient, friendly and unobtrusive service.
The location The parking was pricey
The Breakfast service in the Dining Room was vey poor. Long wait for anyone to serve the very slow service for Coffee and Juice then again along wait for the Meal then service got real bad as no one came around to check if we needed anything
The bed is very comfortable, location is nice.
Location! It's really close to subway stations and atractions at downtown area.
The location was excellent for our purposes. No elevator to the parking garage
Location was great for shopping!
very comfortable beds and good sized round table. room 1012 was around the corner from the elevator and the noise of the elevator could be heard until late and again early in the morning.
Breakfast included Rooms are clean and modernized Good value for the money. Younge Street can be quite noisy on Friday and Saturday nights and the hotel is in the thick of the action. It was quite noisy Friday evening until 2:00am when the bars closed.
Good location. Comfortable rooms. Reasonably nice complementary breakfast. Small bathroom. Restaurant on site was closed. Could not reduce room temperature without keeping window open (this was late March), which introduces street noise.
The Location I was given the key to my room and upon entering the was a naked man who already had the room... When I talked to the clerk they did up grade my room but did not give me a discount...will not stay there again!!
Spacious room, helpful front desk, quiet.
This Comfort Inn was a great value for the money. I paid far less than is typical for a hotel in the middle of Toronto. The room was cold. The whole place was badly in need of renovation. The breakfast room was so crowded I din't get a table for 15 minutes, and the poor woman who tried to replenish supplies just couldn't keep up with demand. The front desk personnel were helpful and polite. No complaints there.
All staff were amazing. The breakfast was wonderful, lists of food!! N/A
The location was great and the hotel was very quiet. The heating was too hot and not controllable by the individual room. TV in the bedroom was not working and had no remote.
Free laundry room for guests & good location.
Very conviently located to st George station which had two lines. Great housekeeping!! I wish there was coffee in the main lobby.
Proximity to downtown. Close to nightlife. Pricier than expected.
Very comfortable and located beside subway making it ideal for shopping, theatres, cinemas and all sightseing destinations. Would have liked a kettle rather that coffee jug in bedroom (water never hot enough for tea)! Presume the 'Fox & Fiddle' is part of hotel where food was fine & staff very friendly - just somewhat dark in the evening and impossible to read menu.
This hotel was a good value for the money. The location is excellent with public transit, sightseeing buses, and the university all right nearby. We found many great restaurants within walking distance. The beds were comfortable and the staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful arranging tours. The room we had was a bit small with two double beds, rather than queen size. The sheets and towels were a bit thin, but adequate. There is no pool. Although there is a restaurant attached, we never felt compelled to try it, with so many other choices in the neighborhood.
Very comfortable, clean room, friendly staff. Free internet was great and worked well. The hotel restaurant wasn't ideal for breakfast, but there were many excellent cafes in the area (some only a few doors down).
Very Quiet room. Very clean room.Good location for my business needs. Parking available in hotel. Special requests noted on my reservation on Booking .Com were not received by hotel. Requested lower floor and king size bed,and did not get. Ended up with 2 double beds and a 10th floor, and staff when informed seemed indifferent and not capable of doing anything. They blamed the issue on the Booking.Com system.
Its location, variety of channles offering at TV, Free Wi-Fi no safe, no flat screen TV
I had been travelling for a while before this so I was pleased that there was a guest laundry. I found the restaurant was good value and the internet work well. The location was good to get around the city Na
For some reason, my initial booking was "lost". (My last name was a concatenation of my firstname with my last, so it wasn't easily found). Eventually this was cleared up. Robert, the manager, did a *fantastic* job of handling the situation. I liked this hotel (as I've stayed there before), and I like it even more now. I am most appreciative of their help, and of Robert'S. Elevators are slow.
The hotel was situated in a area that everything was at walking distance. Not impressed with the way I was treated when I registered. Furthermore I was awakened by a loud sound as the there is plumbing problems in the hotel and when the staff was informed they weren't surprised and didn't seem be concerned. d
Wi fi is free! Also on the 9th and 10th floors you can plug a computer into a line for even better service. Staff were nice and the location between Toronto University and Bloor Street (for the shops) mis good. A short subway ride or a 40 minute walk will take you to the CN Tower which is fun. Adjacent pub (part of the hotel) sells Canadian red beer. The pub opposite is as good but much lower beer prices. Space in the public areas is limited so breakfast has to be taken in the adjacent bar. By breakfast time this is not very clean and you end up on grubby chairs with beer stained tables. Staffing at breakfast time is slow. It is only a minor point and the breakfast was fine.
Proximity to museums and restaurants. Quiet room Beds were clean and comfortable, albeit it was two twin beds pushed together to make a king. Staff were very helpful Adjacent pub discounted meal x1 I don't know if it was due to the NYE/Holiday weekend but the included "breakfast" didn't start until 11am. Staff were helpful but limited front desk hours on weekends and I had to have the checkout receipt emailed to me after I had already left.
location, helpful staff more noise insulation needed on pub side of hotel
The Spadina 11 Guesthouse is good value for Money in a great Location in Toronto. I would describe the place as a hostel or Student accommodation. It has a shared kitchen for guests. I booked my stay over Kayak for $70 per night but was actually charged $90 per night as listed on the Guesthouse Website. At $90 it was still a good value and I didn´t feel like arguing as I had the Impression that English was not the Reception´s first language and he just gave the bill that the Management sent.
The location and area Hotel was very old, dingy and dirty. Hallways and elevator were disgusting. Room was good size - but not well kept and had a foul odor to the carpet, bathroom was very old and stained, water dripping from the faucets, found a hair in the bed. Breakfast was a joke. Way too much money per night for what it is.
It was wonderful to find an affordable and clean hotel in the Yorkville area of Toronto.
It was fairly cheap when compared to other hotels and the parking was only $25. They required a $100 charge on a credit card for incidentals and will credit it back later.
Large room. Good location near the ROM. Free breakfast. Someone pulled the fire alarm bell and the whole hotel had to be evacuated at 4:30am on a Sunday. Fire trucks and the whole process. The front desk did no offer anything to the guests for their terrible experience. A discount on the room rate, an apology, a better breakfast... nothing.
Al and Richard were the best! Location was perfect, close to everything! Price was very affordable.
It was a pleasant looking hotel - bathroom was nice and clean but overall was a disappointment compared to other Howard Johnsons i have stayed at. It is quite run down and the rooms have holes in the wall, burns in the rug, beds were not made the following day only the coverlet was reset - very disappointed - the staff were not very professional and the breakfast was dried up croissants and muffins - I have stayed at Howard Johnson's before in Cdn and US and was very disappointed.- I chose the hotel because I have stayed at this chain before and the price was good for my budget but I must say I was embarassed when me and my sister got there and it did not live up to the type of hotel I had made it out to be - my sister was definitely not impressed with this hotel.
It was clean, it was quiet, the price was right and it was close to were we needed to be. no use of the rooms with balconys
Location hotel staff
The hotel had none of the features that it said online. It was literally 15x farther away from our event than was advertised. When we asked about it the person in charge at the counter knew absoultely nothing about it and offered no advice. He told me I had to park at a public parking lot because I got there too late and didn't tell me about their private parking until i complained enough about their empty parking lot, which he said was completely full at first because he didnt think i had parked back there. The only reason i described this hotel with "green" is because the room had no appliances. The room had no fridge, no functioning television and half the lights were out. We had to fill the tubs with garbage cans of ice, which we had to go down 6 floors for every time, just to keep our food and drinks cold. then when we asked if we could cancel our next night the guy at the desk said we could as long as we cancelled before 4 the next day. So we waited it out to see if we could find another place and when we went to cancel at 2pm another guy at the desk explained that we in fact could not get any of our money back at all. This place shouldnt even be in business.
Very good location for Hazelton Ave., Rom etc. Good price for location, parking. Very small rooms, very small breakfast
For 170$ it was a disappointment. Would have paid more like 80-100 a night. More reasonable for the facility
Just outside the main hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto. Great location. Taxis ready out front to take you anywhere. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I was a little disappointed with the fact that I had reserved the hotel through bookings.com and was expected to have a room with 3 queen size beds. However, this Howard Johnson's only had double beds available and only 2 to a room. Overall, I would still stay at this hotel.
