Pros: I liked the water bottles they gave us.
Cons: They didn't have an economy car on the lot, they up-graded me to a larger Jeep.

Cons: Newark is a busy airport and the car rental places are somewhat merged together, making finding the right place a bit difficult.

Best rental company at EWR
Pros: There was no wait and very personable, professional staff. Very good service. The car was very clean with no damage and performed perfectly during our trip.

dirty car and tough to see at pickup

Pros: Check out was fast
Cons: So I was convinced to upgrade to a midsize.....I'm not very sure if a Hyundai Accent would constitute as a midside in my book.

Pros: the car was awesome and very clean!!! the guy who delivered the car to me was SO nice. explained the upgrades in the car and everything. Drop off was easy. The whole process was very easy and the pricing was spectacular!!!!
Cons: the girl at the counter was alittle rude at first trying to sell me extra insurance when I had already purchased the online vendor insurance, but then she was nice after I got it squared away and showed her proof of the insurance I had.

There when I needed it
Pros: Due to a cancelled flight, I unexpectedly needed a rental. Alamo was there at a reasonable price.

Pros: Easy check-in, quickly into the vehicle. Clean, desired vehicle available.
Cons: The change in location drop-off penalty (required due to travel disruption) was excessively steep (over $300).

Pros: Good new Hyundai.
Cons: Delivered in La Guardia, as reserved but nobody in Alamo explained that the location at La Guardia was not in the airport, and no one in the airport new that Alamo existed, much less where. Hertz and Avis are in the airport. Allmost lost my flight out.

Pros: We had problems with the car we rented. The manager at the facility where we rented did a great job of dealing with the issue. Alamo's road service, however, did a miserable job. They sent us to a rental facility where we could supposedly exchange the car for one that was working properly. When we got there, we discovered that the location had no vehicles available, You would think Alamo road service personnel would have checked before sending us there.

Shady change of rates
Pros: Kiosk were user friendly. National Staff at the airport location offered good service. Car was in great condition. Customer service agent that I got when calling to complain was courteous and helpful.
Cons: I called to extend my rental. Then an hour later I called to cancel the extension. When I returned the car, my original reservation rental rate was raised by almost double. Luckily when I called customer service the next day the agent credit me for the overage. It was definitely very messed up on their part. I would of NEVER rented from them again if that charge was not reversed to the original contract. Especially because I returned the car at the time as the original contract. My reservation changes agent was terrible for raising my rate and not caring about being helpful. Also their customer service wait was pretty long.

an easy way experience
Pros: the car almost new and was in great condition. I was out of the rental office in less than 10 minutes and it took a bit of time to on exurb the ca but not terrible

Overcharged for a poor quality car
Cons: The woman who gave us our car was very cold. The car was of poor quality and hard to drive.

Pros: friendly staff easy vehicle access and drop off car type reserved wasn't available but offered upgrade
Cons: Signs for Alamo not listed on the AirTrain so a brief moment of panic re where to get off... car hood wasn't fully secured when we took possession, didn't realize this until we were on the GS Parkway and another motorist pointed it out, thankfully!

Insurance is ridiculous. Is practically mandatory
Pros: The car was great The employee was very kind
Cons: Insurance for third parties is ridiculous. The limit is $ 100,000 which is practically zero. In Italy that it is not a rich country the statutory minimum is € 5 million. is practically mandatory additional insurance (SLI) which costs $ 18 / day plus tax. In addition the policy on the damage to the car (Kasko) is extra.

Check your bank statement for deposit/hold refund
Cons: Charged me $250 deposit and didn't refund it until I called to complain. Very poor customer service on pick up. Very aggressive up selling on pick up.

Cons: Initially, when looking at the deals that popped up on KAYAK, I tried several times to book the first couple of price quotes that were found. Each time I would fill out all of the information, only to be told when submitting the reservation that this price was no longer available. To have price quotes appear in the search results that were no longer available was very frustrating.

Alamo at PHL is tied to National
Pros: Price was way better than the others. Location was convenient for pick-up.
Cons: You are at the counter of National Rental Car, Alamo doesn't have their own counter here at Newark Airport so you are at the mercy of their reps. It's slow because you are in the same line that are in. The compact Mitsubishi car I rented (Mirage) was horrible. It felt highly unstable cornering and had a top heavy feeling.

Pros: The person who worked with me in Newark was efficient and personable. She couldn't have been more helpful. it was a pleasure working with her.
Cons: That I had to deliver the car to Logan Airport in Boston.

Cons: My flight was an hour early and because I picked up the car early it changed the amount from about $65 to over $200. Then the agent said she wouldn't charge me for a premium vehicle but she did.

Everything great except mysterious rate change
Pros: Car was clean, new, and well equipped. Staff was friendly, attentive, and interested. 24 hour service was vital, given the uncertainties of air travel arrival times (and airtrain, etc.). Charges were very clearly itemized, no guesswork.
Cons: The rate charged was much higher than the one booked online. No explanation of this change was offered, and it was not due to additional taxes and fees which were very clearly itemized.
