Pros: Pickup and dropoff was easy. But we would have preferred to receive more instructions about the car since we are from a foreign country and we are not used to drive automatic car. The car was clean enough.
Cons: Insurance policy was not clear at the time of booking!! We bought an insurance in advance when we booked the car, but then we discovered that that insurance covers only our car and not the car or people involved in case of accident. So we had to add an additional insurance. And also there's an additional charge for the EZ-pass, almost 5 dollars per day even for those day you don't use it...that's too much and not fair! In the end, we paid more than 100$ per day for a mid-size...too much!!!

Great service, easy
Pros: It was a wonderful experience. I was skeptical because I was talking to a person on a machine while renting the car...but it ended up being simple and all good. They let you choose from cars in a certain level, which was fun. Thanks!

Poor Customer Service
Cons: Picked my car up from Newark Airport. Next morning after driving to my destination noticed the hood looked like it was slightly ajar. Went to the Hertz in Vineland, NJ. Poor customer service and was told to drive the car to either Philadelphia, 2 hr drive back to Newark airport or an hour to Atlantic City. This was after the employee told me it looks as if the hood latch is broken. I do not drive a car on a normal basis as I live in the city and am not knowledgeable about cars enough to have noticed. It was also not called out by anyone once I left the airport at Newark. Ended up having to drive to Atlantic City. Even though after being on the phone with Road Side Assistance and they were told there was a car available, when arrived they said they had no cars. Ended up with a Red Accent that was dented. The lack of customer service from Hertz was surprising. Still have not received a return call from Newark Airport location.

Awful service. Had car issues and no one offered to help or apologize
Cons: Thank you very much. Ok so I will try to make a long story short. On this past Thursday we rented a hertz car from Newark and was staying in New City NY at my sisters. Yesterday am around 5:30 am we were driving to Thompson PA where my 11 yr old daughter is at camp. It was visiting day and all parents have to be ther no later than 9:30 (or else will have crying child) so we drove and about 30 min in we starting have oil sign light up. We called hertz roadside and they said should be OK keep driving. Another 10 min got another warning light so they said return car to Newark ( we were no where near Newark and didn't have the time) so they found Stewart airport at new windsor NY and said we shouldn't have issue exchanging car. ( gave a ref # too) got to Stewart dropped car off and found out Hertz desk person doesn't come in till 9 am. I didn't have leisure to wait so I dropped car key in box and had to rent another car with Avis ( they were there ). So not only out of $ with hertz but now had to pay Avis for another 3 days. Barely made it to the camp on time ( with 2 min to spare) and now I called Newark 4 x no answer. I called manager on duty his # out of service and everyone I speak to can't help me or even apologize for my situation. My CC company Has put all charges on hold until this is resolved
