Why ask me to select a car online if it won't be available
Cons: Went out of my way to request and pay up for a convertible, which they didn't have when I arrived. Staff st the desk didn't even pretend to care.

Lots of fine print issues
Pros: Car was new original price was good New rentacar center in MIA is nice ...
Cons: It was not clear to me that I was renting offsite from the Miami airport through the Avis website when I booked. So, when they had no car for me at the airport upon arrival, I had to cab it a few miles away to the local location. Even though I was later than my planned time to pick up the car, my car was not ready and was being cleaned. 4o minutes waiting...and then the car was still wet and some dirt since they didn't towel it off in those 40 minutes. Then I found out this location was daytime only and had no dropbox for dropping off car off hours. I had to drop it off at the nearby MIA airport...and was changed around $85 more for that simple change. I had been told it would be around $25 from the Avis 800#. Early morning drop off at MIA, no one attending. Once employee finally came by, but spoke no English. Miami service people, in general, are not as professional or courteous as other locations I usually use Avis or Budget at. I am a business preferred account user...but that doesn't seem to get me much...at least in Miami.

Pros: Car was nice, clean and processing after the airport car desk was efficient on collection and return.
Cons: Avis Employee behind desk was verging on rude. Swiped my card and I was told it had declined and that I could not have a car with a Debit card. I was told I would need to go elsewhere despite booking. I called my bank who told me the amount HAD gone through! I asked to speak to the manager who then managed to resolve. I explained that had I not checked with my bank I would have been charged and likely struggled to get funds returned and then I would have had to go somewhere else and rent 'on the day' another car at a premium. He refused to apologise and then gave me a car in a bay that was already processed and the people were pulling out as we got there. BAD experience.

Cons: I thought I was picking my car up from the Miami airport. Turns out I had to take a cab to another rental agency a few miles into Miami. Once there, my car was ready but not at the same price I booked the car for.
