Great weekly rental
Pros: Got an upgrade on my rental. Terrific customer service. Great value and great car.

Pros: budget rental
Cons: after waiting in line for 45 minutes attendant couldn't verify my conformation # and said she was unable to rent me a car for a week. We went upstairs to budget and receive good service.

Cons: They put a very attractive price but didn't mention that you had to pick up.the car at miami downtown vs airport. Ridiculous

I got screwed
Pros: Kayak made the reservation for the wrong pick up location, so that by the time I got to the airport rental center Hertz refused to honor my rate OR reservation and wanted to charge me 3x what I had reserved the car for. I had to call Hertz Corporate to cancel my reservation, and rent from a different company to get a fair rate. I was told by Hertz Corporate that they have had a lot of trouble with sites like Kayak screwing up the reservations. Not doing this again. Kayak was no help at all

Pros: I made a reservation on line about three days before my trip to Florida for a pick up at FLL. After I landed at FLL and I went to pick up my rental car my reservation was actually for Miami airport. So I could not get the car. They could switch it but it would had cost me about $60 more which I was not wiling to pay. I have no idea how this happened.
Cons: Switching airports that are less than 50 miles apart was too expensive. They should have honor my reservation price.

Cons: Car was dirty inside (someone had spilled something sticky all over the center console and there were crumbs, etc.) and since I picked it up at night and it didn't have interior lights, I didn't realize until the next morning. Also drop off took longer than expected because I did drop off in a different city than pickup, so they weren't able to finalize the check-in outside and I had to go in and wait at the counter to talk to an agent.

Pros: I liked the fact that they shuttled from the port. However the rental car was filthy on the outside and when I asked the attendant he said they don't wash them. Also it was supposed to be full of fuel but was under the quarter mark. There were scratches on the rear lid and Bumper. Was not a good first impression!

Big problem returning the car!
Cons: The car was just so-so. Nothing exceptional and had high mileage. When I returned my car to Miami (right on time and as reserved), they had no record of my car or my rental and I had to go to the rental counter where I waited for about 15 minutes before I could be helped. I presented the documents I received in Columbus when I rented the car and the agent still could not help me. I ultimately had to leave or I would miss my flight. As of this moment, I have yet to receive my bill.

Cons: They charged me for 2 days, as I missed the 24 hr window by an hour. It was never indicated the time of return in Miami. The car had a ten gallon tank, making us stop 2 times to fill up in a 25 hr period. Horrible customer experience at Miami Hertz!!

Pros: Very friendly customer support; quick check in; car easy to find an pickup.
Cons: Vehicle vibrated like a washing machine; might have needed some maintenance. Also was not aware that drop off location would be closed on the day of drop off -- not topping off fuel cost us a good chunk of change.

Poor credit card switch
Pros: The return agents attempt to help me in resolving the credit card switch problem
Cons: Car was not cleaned before I received it. The car smelled really funny for a 2016. Hertz does not have a mechanism to replace credit card on a prepaid transaction!! Unbelievable!!

CAR WAS NOT READY AT PICK UP TIME. WAITED 3 HOURS
Cons: Car needed oil change and had to wait 3 hours to get car. Rented a med size SUV and even though there were other SUV on lot, manager wouldn't give us another because claimed it was another class level. Horrific manager. I tried to file complaints, they said would call back but the company never did. DO NOT RENT WITH HERTZ!!

My experience at hertz
Pros: I like how fast and easy it was to pick up and return .i also like how fast the deposit was refunded .
Cons: That they give me a rental which check engine light was on and the brakes was slipping. The rental company was located 45 min away from my hotel so it was a big inconvience to return it.

Great till you want to add on an extra day.
Pros: I was very happy with the car and the price considering I was dropping off at a different location. The car was very clean, comfortable and gave me no problems all the way from Miami to Roanoke.
Cons: But was not happy about the ridiculously over priced fee for one extra day! It just did not make any sense and made the whole journey too expensive. So I will never book and then add days on later!

Disaster - Pure fraud
Cons: I booked a convertible from Miami International Airport to Key West. When I showed up at the Hertz counter I was told my car was to be picked up at a different location in Miami, I showed Hertz my email confirmation detailing the pick up at MIA with the address of the MIA rental center and they refused to honor the reservation, the manager refused to come out and speak with me. I was then told they had no convertibles and while I was discussing this my girlfriend booked a convertible from Hertz on her phone and went to the counter and of course they had one. When I said we would take that car which was what I booked and requested them to honor the Kayak price on my confirmation email (which was $50 less) they refused. It was embarrassing how poor the customer service was. I would never use Kayak or Hertz again.

Cons: Price was more than double the quoted price per day from kayak. We had to cancel and hired a minivan from Budget at half the price. Staff at Budget was friendly and competent unlike the Hertz lack of trained people.

Don't rent hertz
Pros: Car was clean inside
Cons: From the moment I checked in, our clerk, Irma, seemed perturbed that I had disturbed her ( at 5:30 am) as she was doing some personal calculations. She could not find my reservation and failed to be helpful or nice. The car had bad scratches on bumper, and when I advised the checkout person, he refused to walk around car, no other cars were waiting, so I had to get out of car and do it. Value, terrible. It cost me more than one dollar a mile for a four hour rental. And I am a hertz gold member.

Cons: Arrived and they seemed to have no idea about the reservation. They finally found it on the computer but there was no car available. Waited over an hour for them to arrange a car from another location. It arrived but the car wasn't the vehicle we had requested. We were out of time by then so we took it and left. The car was dirty, it even had a half dead bee buzzong around, and several dead bees in it. Attendant was very friendly but overall a very poor experience.

Pros: we were assigned a car in slot 234 and there is no 234. attendant thought it should have been 523 but there was no car there. then they assigned a random car that was ok. check in was painfully slow, not many people just slow paperwork, like someone was writing the great american novel.
Cons: easy drop off.

Pros: Easy rental process and good price. Pay close attention to what you are being charged and what you have agreed to or else you will end up with hundreds more in charges.
Cons: I did both like dealing with a virtual agent for pickup. I also did not appreciate that I had to say no to the upsell or I would have been charged and placed in a larger vechicle; and why $40/day for insurance? That seems steep.

Will never rent from Hertz again
Pros: The rental place we as reserved the car at was CLOSED!!! We even called Hertz directly and they said it was open ( we had reserved a car for a Christmas Day pick up) As a result we had to get a last minute car from Thrifty and paid almost triple. I will NEVER rent from Hertz again.

This was the worst rental I've ever had!
Cons: Waited in line for over an hour to get the car. Staff was rude. Car smelled of stale smoke. Asked for new one but was told I'd have to go inside and ask. Filled up tank of gas but got charged $13 because I didnt have the receipt.... Awful awful awful!!!
