Hard to rent
Cons: Wasnt able to get a car

Pros: Great good deal price!
Cons: They confused my credit card n debit card then forcing me to deposit $200 that was unusual. Scared of their rip off but it took us 45 min to solve it. The point is trust issue

Pros: Quick and professional service.
Cons: Since this was my first time to rent at Richmond airport I had difficulty finding the return route. It could be more help if exit and return route could be given with the key to the car. Thank you.

Pros: The car did not use much gas....
Cons: The pick up area for this Hertz rental was 20 miles or more away from the airport and we had to pay fifty dollars each way for a taxi.....so the saving we received from Kayak was used up in taxi fares....so I will never rent a car from Kayak ever again....we spent over $100.00 just to get to the car and back to the airport.....HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND WE ALMOST MISSED OUR FLIGHT.....

Pros: Correct car was ready. Paperwork short as it was already booked.
Cons: Correct car was ready. Paperwork short as it was already booked.it was a Saturday around noon, four people in line at the counter. Only one person working the counter. That is poor planning.

Cons: Had to provide a credit card for 200.00 deposit. Why??. Windows were filthy. Had to clean them myself. Morning shift not friendly

Pros: Staff if professional. They even called to check when the car would be picked up.
Cons: The car had some left-over adhesive from the original stickers - this always makes me nervous that it will be judged a problem when it is returned..

Cancelled the rental
Cons: I pre-paid and booked a car at the airport location, when I went to the airport to pick up the car the woman at the counter told me that I needed a credit card to rent the already paid for car. My husband was on travel with our one credit card. I then had to call my sister to come and provide her credit card. This was 9:00 PM, after she arrived we we told by the counter agent that the booking was at another location which was closed and that they did not have a car for us (the location was not noted on the confirmation). We then had to call Hertz and were told we could have a car for $100 more. I then cancelled the reservation and I still do not have the refund! I will NEVER book with you again!!!!!!

Car Was Not Ready & Gassed Up - Made Me Wait While
Pros: Good Car. Great Price. I liked after hours drop off to return car.
Cons: Pick up took too long. Car was not ready and only had a half tank of gas so I had to take extra time to fill it up before driving to my meeting. Also, staff had to keep stopping to answer phone which delayed me getting the car and hitting the road.

Cons: The seats in the Nissan cause one to slouch. Needed a lumbar support to compensate.

Pros: All went well -- pickup / drop-off were painless, car ran very well mechanically (tires were way over-pressured), and was an excellent value for the money.
Cons: Only minor complaints: on cleanliness (some stains on the rear seat and on the rear window deck that looked like toothpaste), and had to go back to get a prior damage descriptide sheet to document same and other previous small cosmetic damages.

Helpful staff, great ride
Pros: Second time renting from Hertz. Service time was ok at pickup and superb at dropoff. I felt appreciated as a customer on both visits and will use this company again when the need arises.

Car was not rentable
Pros: I like that I safely made it to my destination.
Cons: Half way thru my drive I heard a noise drivers side front. When I arrived i noticed that there was broken plastic pieces behind the tire. The rental tech said that the previous renter must have popped a tire and hastily put on a new one. He then said my car was un-rentable. I am Not happy about this.

Nice car, easy pick-up drop-off, bad phone custome
Pros: The car was almost brand new and a good value.
Cons: I tried to call Hertz customer service after we had the car a few days. I wanted to change the drop off airport to a different one about a hundred miles away. Nobody I spoke to was able to help me: I was shuttled from one rep to another about 8 times. Ultimately, I was unable to change the reservation and had to drop off the car at the original location.

Cons: We were double charged and had to fight tooth and nail to get only 75% back, ridiculous and outrageous! NEVER will we rent from or recommend Hertz or their affiliates, Dollar/Thrifty.

Rent for twice the price when booking
Cons: They do not accept the European Visa card, saying it is a debit card. Fortunately, I was able to change the name on the reservation with someone who lives in the United States. The price of the rental has increased (OK with that) but what was my surprise when I saw that they do not consider the amount I paid for the booking and they charge all the amount on the new card that We had produced. What a shame!!

Scammed on upgrade
Cons: The agent scammed me on an upgrade fee. Adding an additional daily charge to the rental when I never asked for it. Quite an unethical business practice.

Cons: When I went to the airport to pick car up, they wanted an additional $200 deposit which was not mentioned on Internet. My card was short the $200 by $18.00. They would not take an alternate payment so they cancelled the rental. I still have not received the money they charged against my credit card. I spoke to customer service and was assured I would receive a total refund in approximately 8-14 days and this simply has not happened.

Pros: There was nothing to like about this location.
Cons: I was given a car with unsafe tire pressure levels and one of the tires blew leaving the rental lot. Completely unacceptable, the Hertz employees showed little empathy.
