I like ocean view from my balcony the building so old, carpet stinks, dishes are not clean
accesibility to the beach and shoppingcenters. internet access, if you can install a wifi that will be a very good marketing point for the hotel.
I was in for one evening/night only and left early the next morning. I liked the room package with the kitchenette. The only problem was that the drain in the bathtub leaked making it difficult to take a sitdown bath.
It had free breakfast. The hallway leading up to the room smells.
nothing special... no free internet in the lobby
The air units from other building were roaring loud. Could NOT hear the ocean at night, day, anytime .lNo hotel shuttle. Nice rooms, little itchy. Excellent friendly staff.
The room was large enough for 3 girls. And the free coffee was great. I found 2 cockroaches during my stay...yuck!
At first was disappointed at not having an ocean view but ended up loving the "city" view - especially at night. Too many children at every pool. They need an adult only pool or section of a pool. (And we were there during school - will be even worse when school is out).
Location & value. Parking in Waikiki was expensive.
location close to everything ........ honestly I don't have anything negative to say. I would stay there again.
Staff was nice, facilities were mostly clean, and you can't beat the price The floor was dirty, the room was small, the chair was rusty.
I loved this hotel. It is very clean, very professional, they give a lot of attention to the small details. Housekeeping does an excellent job as well as the front desk people. I did not want it to leave. I will stay there in my future trips Everything was perfect
The only thing I like is the location and have to say : you pay for what you get. Serious construction going on with their lower level restaurant, best to stay out of lower floor. I stay at 5th and still can hear the noise, start as early as 8am in the morning. Better to check and make sure they construction is finish before you make your decision, or demand upper floor room. The house keeping was horrible, 3 straight days without reloading the shampoo and facial towers... no washing cups, no wiping the table.. overall house keeping quality is poor.
I enjoyed 2 nights here and then looked for a bit more savings. I actually went to 3 other hotels in the 100-150 range and looked at their rooms. Nasty. Old, outdated, musty, mildewed... the Shoreline Waikiki is not fancy, but it sure is clean and smart. So I went back and rented another room for 3 more nights. Rooms are small. Rooms were clean! First room, on 6th floor, was a tad shinier and newer than second room I rented on 5th floor. I suppose it had seen less traffic. Hotel staff was friendly, there's coffee and iced tea downstairs, there's a simple but clean and effective pool on the roof. All the design/remodel choices are one smart notch above budget. Hotel is a few feet off of Kuhio, in the midst of the Waikiki tourist district. Beach is a 5 minute walk. No complaints at all. Heartily recommended. Hotel taxes in Waikiki are high, so a $119 room bills out at just under $135.
Location Bed was really small
Free beach towels, chairs, boogie boards to use A bit pricey for a small room 3 blocks from the beach. Unsafe street at night
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The air conditioning and wind noise in the room was a bit loud.
Attractive, comfortable, close while not on the beach, well-designed and efficient, continental breakfast, friendly and knowledgeable staff, no unhappy surprises. Everything functioned well. Room was remarkably quiet. Safe box, tablet, and free beach accessories (towel, mat, umbrellas, etc) were nice touches. Room initially appeared small and basic, but actually was well designed and comfortable. No bathroom fan, but passive ventilation worked just as well. A/C quiet, but not really large enough to cool the room much. Mini-fridge nice and did (barely) keep food cold despite warning inside about avoiding perishables! No protein at continental breakfast, just breads and fruits, but copious and delicious. (We stocked up at Food Pantry a couple blocks away.)
The rooms are quite small, but still comfortable. It has vallet-only parking at the premises. But the effort of the staff to please and serve is really what called our attention. None
My wife fell, while holding our daughter, while getting into the pool on a very slippery first step. Two other guests told us about their similar experience during their stay. It was our first day of our vacation and my wife spent the week with a bruised spine and a big scratch. The Aston took pictures of her injury but did nothing about it.
The location Was getting kicked out of my room,
Location, amenities and the bars A little dirty and dated
Good location. yeah, that's it. and there's tons of other hotels on the beach. I would elsewhere other than Aston brand seeing how they're managed. Staff was not organized and not caring. They gave key to our room to other guests. I don't know if it's good or bad we were in the room at the time. Assuming they only did it once. A hotel employee even tried to let people in. Hint - new, empty rooms don't have the Do Not Disturb sign hanging on the door. They called us twice after 11PM trying to sort out their mistake in booking.. I complained to staff, no reaction. When i was checking out, they didn't ask how my stay was, otherwise i would've complained again. BTW, there were 4 workers just standing there when i checked out, so it's not like they were rushed. Small gym, small pool, big resort fee. Still have to pay $30/night for parking. Make sure you add $60+/day to your expected price your paying. Two sets of keys stopped working at the same time. they claim they both got demagnitized. 2 sets of keys kept in separate places at the exact same time? they screwed up. They didn't clean the room every day, even when empty from 6am-12. Bathroom stank of mildew. Safe didn't close reliably. Hair dryer only worked on 2 of 3 settings. We didn't get our welcome bag of sunscreen until second day of our stay, again pointing out they screwed up in the system. Refrigerator froze all liquids inside, not just in the icebox. No way to adjust it. Lots of drunk biker gang guys at the pool bar at night. They staggered into our private party. They have a weird elevator system where you have to press your room key and punch in the floor outside the elevator. there's no buttons inside. and you can't go from the rooms to the ground level. you have to stop at the 3rd floor in either direction. The first day i was confused and i asked the staff how to get to the ground floor, he told me i had to valet. i said i just want to get to the parking area and he just kept telling me i have to valet and pointed to the lobby. Elevators were broken every night.
made reservations 3 months in advance and requested a room with 2 beds, but when I arrived I was informed that the hotel was full and all they could provide was a roll away bed. I was never contacted about a room with two beds being available in the 5 nights I was there. Also, when i first made the reservation, the website advertised flat screen tv and microwave in the $89 room. The website now says that the upgraded rooms have flatscreen tv and microwave for $99. Interesting change from the first time I saw the site.
Great location, budget accomadation. Restaurant very handy and food great. Poor facilities.
Unbeatable location in Waikiki. Our room had a great view of both Diamond Head and the beach. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfortable. Best shower head ever! No use of the pool after 6 p.m. is a ridiculous policy.
Comfortable beds. Great view and right across from beach. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Could use thicker pillows though.
Excellent staff and a great view over looking the beach and Diamond Head I would like laundry facilites available to do your own laundry.
Location Paying for Parking, not enough drawers in the rooms for clothes. Bathroom too small
The Hotel is in the heart of the most live area of Honolulu and its beach is a safe family beach
Great location. Friendly staff. The hotel could use a little "updating" - but great value for money.
very good staff
the beds were very comfortable; the staff was extremely courteous and helpful; good wireless internet connection; also, we really enjoyed lulu's restaurant, and having the convenience store right in the hotel. nothing.
Great location, close to lots of activities like the zoo, aquarium and beach. Staff was very helpful and accommodating to our needs and although it was a short visit, staff remembered me by name.
Friendly staff, great location. Lacks a fitness center and the pillows and towels were standard.
Proximity to beach Lanai overlooked hotels air con unit, & public parking lot.
GREAT LOCATION FRIENDLY, WELCOMING, AND HELPFUL GREAT STAFF ROOMS ARE VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN
I actually like the location. Smack dab in the middle of a lot of the areas we went to. The room was fairly cozy and nice and spacious for the king suite. The appliances were not new of course but they were good and functional. For example the fridge wasn't stainless but wasn't expecting that, but it does get cold. Bed is very comfy, no problems falling asleep after a long day of walking. AC was functional and can get cold, multi-function. Helped with the dehumidifier and fan function. Gave us a DVD kiosk that was included in the room stay. Loved the small pond by the front desk, little turtles and large koi. One thing I loved was we booked our stay in a suite and it came with 2 full size beds. Went down and asked if we can get a king bed and since the rooms arent available to change beds, they gladly changed Ros for us. Did a great job accommodating our needs! All in all, we enjoyed our stay. A serious upgrade on their wireless is needed. There is a wireless in each room which is nice but it likes to cut off waaaay too much. If you want a large pool, you won't find it here. We didn't end up going to Hawaii to swim in a hotel pool so it didn't effect our stay. Since the hotel is in the middle of the city, won't really matter where you stay, the view wasn't great.
i like the wkrking staffs they are really kind and warm and friendly!
This hotel is a great value for the money. It is walking distance from restaurants, bars and shopping. It's very clean and includes a couple little extras (PS3 in room, DVD rentals, continental breakfast). Parking is available for a fee. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to relatives and anyone who comes to visit me here in Hawaii. My car was towed after being valet parked. It was a big hassle the morning it happened because I had to go pick it up myself and I missed an appointment. But the manager and the valet who discovered the issue were both pro-active in taking care of everything. They both called to follow-up the next day. They paid the taxi to the towing place, reimbursed my towing fee and refunded the parking fees I had paid and gave me a goody bag and gift certificate for a future stay. I definitely feel like I was compensated for the inconvenience caused and because of the way they handled the situation I will likely be back again.
Enjoyed the price the best, but everything else was good as well. N/A.
It so close to every thing stay was so friendly and helpful . When asked about place to eat the gave like 10 place in the week we tried like 6 all where great . Place was clean and very nice . Views where great and the room was very clean and nice .
Staff and service was outstanding. We were well taken care of. We Felt like OHANA. NO COMPLAINTS
Right on the edge of Waikiki, across from the zoo and close to the beach and ocean. A little outdated in the rooms. Room was very tiny.
The staff was amazing and very helpful and as nice as they could be. Very very friendly. Road/street noise was a bit loud. Can't beat the price, location or staff. I got a lot for my money.
Close to beach and Waikiki great location nice staff older rooms with average furnishings bad shower head small pool but fun expensive breakfast buffet $25 for parking/day
Early check in request at 12nn Ongoing construction at 17th floor. Beds are not soft Unlike other hotels.
We really enjoyed how close it was to the beach. It's location was the best part of the trip. Easily walked over to rent mopeds that we rode to Diamond Head. Restaurants galore as well! The staff at the hotel are all so very sweet. The hotel itself is beautiful with a rooftop lounge/pool area; the view of Diamond Head was amazing! We definitely got the short end of the stick with the standard room being so small. Next time we'll look into getting a bigger room.
Right next to beach, My view was of a decay roof & walls over the pool.
The location of the hotel is about the best thing I can say about the place. It was about two blocks from the beach. The room we had was extra small and behind the elevator. The 'view' was of another side of the hotel which had balconies (we did not) and a view of Diamond Head (we did not). In a room within our 'view' and about two floors down the people in that room had a really good time partying out there. Between the elevator and the party, sleeping was rough. In addition the towel rack in the bathroom fell apart. Finally, they charged 25.00 a day to park there. Self parking was not an option, only valet parking. If you wanted to self park you had to find a place on the street and pay the meter or in a 'lot' across a very busy street.
It was conveniently located to shops and beach with a nice view of the ocean Tiny room and mediocre service
Price , close to the beach , view Air con, pillows, Windows old , lots of street noise . Breakfast / restaurant area was run down , breakfast buffet was weak . Place needs remodel upgrade
The rooms are well appointed for Hawaii, location is fantastic and close to everything you need in Waikiki. Construction noise was a pain. They start work from 7am so couldn't sleep in. The wait for the lifts was also slow but not too bad if your willing to have a chat with some of the other guests.
Great beds, and very clean, loved the breakfast and the bear, lovely pool although I did not dip in it, good walking distance to everything... No, was lovely...
Extremely Friendly Staff Complimentary Breakfast! The room had an extremely unpleasant smell. Some of the towels also had stains on them. I wish it was a bit more clean because for the price it is a great deal.
Close to local attractions in centre of city Rooms on the small side
overall atmosphere; friendliness and helpfullness of staff nothing that we did not like!
I enjoyed the staff that are friendly and helpful. Provided breakfast, convenient to all, reasonably priced. Comfortable room with balcony. Also very quiet room. Good service.
Rooms were great - location was perfect - valet service was flawless - breakfast was good for motivating us to get out and get going!
Room does not look like pictures. Valet parking was "full" so we had to find our own parking. Such an inconvenience especially when traveling with a 3 month old.
Our first impression of this hotel was poor. The hotel appeared rather dated. We were surprised as all reviews of this hotel were excellent. We had booked it for a week. We went to the room on the first night and found the room extremely small. We were considering checking out the following day. We went to reception on the following morning and advised the receptionist that we were disappointed with the size of the room. Immediately he arranged to have us moved to another room, which was much larger, with a nice view, at no extra charge. As the week went on we became much more comfortable in this hotel. We found that everyone was very friendly. Staff could not be more helpful. Breakfast was included in the price and was
The staff at this hotel are excellent. They upgraded us to a larger room upon arrival and congratulated us on our honeymoon. The breakfast is great with Belgian waffles and a variety of cereal, fruit, toast etc. Much better than most continental breakfasts that are included. Location of the hotel is fantastic. You are off the main strip and it is quiet at night. Easy to get to all attractions and bus stops less than 2 minutes walk away. Would highly recommend to anyone that was look for an easy place to stay without the bells and whistles. Note: if you have children, the pool is tiny! The beach is just a short walk away though. Would have been great to have a shuttle service to the airport and or shopping centres/diamond head. All around a great little hotel!
friendly staff, free softdrink, coffee and tea around the clock, stylish decor and easy access to the beach cannot think of anything...great deal for the service and location
The location on the canal was very nice and the proximity to the beach and downtown Waikiki was very good. The room was excellent as was the staff - helpful, accommodating and friendly. For example, a comp room for an hour was offered to accommodate our late flight home.
Best service and room environment at this price. I will come back if I will travel to Hawaii again. Nothing~
Room is large. Facilities are good. Free internet. Every room has a large balcony and good view! Bed is a bit uncomfortable. Single-pane windows let in too much street noise
Location and friedly staff, made our stay very comfortable , we have no hesitation in recommending the Ilikai as a holiday selection,
room cleaning lady was so helpful and nice.view from the room was also very nice. compare to the hotel used to be a marriott, it looked the rank was downgraded. however I love the beach and harver front facility. litte away from the waikiki area.
Loves having a kitchenette ... very well stocked ..be sure to select the upgraded /newly remodeled rooms
Location was great - close to everything but not in the middle of the busy part of Waikiki.
Great location! Great building! Cleaning staff super friendly and professional. Loved the decor and movie rental feature. Loud slamming doors. Check-in lady was rude and short with me. Ice only at the front desk? Weird.
Well maintained. Unique hotel. Great location with some decent beach toys included. Cramped driving around lobby with poor parking setup. Small room but space was well utilized. Visually older and smaller from the outside.
Location, location, ....rooms were great, views were great, staff was very responsive and helpful
Very noisy at all hours. Lot of echoing from hallway, doors that close loudly, and noisy elevators. Lobby outdated. Location was across the street from the beach. Rooms were clean, but small. Constant noisiness.
Nothing It was small and was given 3 twin size beds for my husband and I.
Good location, allowed us to keep car there after check out for a day tour. Lobby was nicely decorated. Room was run down, badly needs updated. No view to speak of. Price was way too high for these accomodations.
I liked the water bags they provide for cutting down on the use of plastic bottles. I was not impressed that I had to pay $20 a night for parking! I have never been to a hotel that did not have parking included.
The place is close to everything Building is old. They need to remodel the facilities
Clean. Friendly front desk. Always willing to help. noisy. Tour buses after tour buses. Eary in the morning. Noisy air conditioner. Locked out of room at 11:00 pm because the battery went dead onb the front door lock. Problems with TV volume. Had to call a technition who fixed it ....but it didn't work again in the morning.
Nothing Dirty, old with roaches in rooms
it had a stove, sheets and towels were clean it was dirty, the shower was clogged
Helpful staff Well organised front desk. Web site dors not say the gym is very small and there is an extra charge for the Internet. $20 Also there is no tea or coffee in the room and no restaurant, therefore no breakfast. This is not good value for money compared to better local hotels. Very disappointed in this.
The staff here were incredibly friendly and helpful. Location is great-awesome coffee stand out front and close to multiple bus stops and the beach. They charge a $20 a night resort fee which pays for use of their wifi and filtered water system. In my opinion that fee wasn't justified. Also the facilities while clean and comfortable could be updated.
In room kitchenette Comfortable beds Balcony Friendly staff Parking Sucks!! $20-25/day
I liked the view and the bed Staff doesn't know much about helping people out to learn new things here. The pool has strange hours from 10 AM to 7 PM I think they got that backwards. They overbooked me a day on my room and would not give me a refund. I'm not sure I would stay here again for the amount of money that I paid for 10 days
The beds were extremely uncomfortable. You can feel the springs through the mattress cover. I ended up having to use all of the pillows as additional cushion between my body and the mattress.
Service was always friendly, prompt and efficient. The hotel is also quiet and great for relaxing - away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Waikiki. The beautiful Aquarium is just a few steps away. Do not forget to get your breakfast or other meal at the beautiful ocean-front restaurant.
No inroom tea
fantastic views! room service food was excellent and fast. friendly and helpful staff. one thing they must improve is to let guests know that in order for the AC to work, all sliding glass doors must be fully closed - if left ajar the AC shuts off.
This hotel is ocean front property. They contacted me days prior my arrival to inquire about my accommodations and special requests. I mentioned how I would be getting married during my stay. I was upgrade to a room with a beautiful view free of charge. The room service is quick and food is delicious. I really enjoyed my time there :D There was some construction going on during the day time. It was loud and caused dust inside the hotel.
best parts - location truly beachfront. staff, RON in particular. He went out of his way to give us a lift to relatives in Salt Lake. Thanks again Ron! Dinner was great (a little pricey, but what's not in Waikiki)... quick service from William- Thanks William. Room was quite small, nice size bed, no room for side tables, just enough to squeeze out of bed and into the bathroom or out the room. TV and wifi quite bad! TV often freezes, lots of strong wifi addresses but cannot connect to them only the weak ones and then get disconnected every now and then.
Location at the quiet end of Waikiki; nice almost private beach. Staff was very polite and helpful. The cost of hotel';s food and drink (2 restaurants, expensive bar).
The service was excellent. Restaurants and facilities were top notch. One on property you need not go anywhere else. A great experience! That we had to leave.
Private beach, off the main drag, quiet Rooms are tiny and slightly out of date.
Location was perfect, felt like a place the locals go and was still close enough to the busy tourist areas, that you can walk.
hotel staff's service and attitude is good... affordable price Lots of noise in a room no. 506, unexpected hotel tax(about 9%), low interior detail compared to room photos, small area for breakfast, I experienced 3 hotels in hawaii and this Hotel Renew is the worst although considering price. Never recommended.
It's right by the beach most people wouldn't even know
Service was amazing! From the minute we dropped off the car with Valet, had very friendly caring staff.
Very close to beach. Decent continental breakfast. Beach chairs and towels available. Lighting in our room was terrible - very dim and with no light in the entry area. Air conditioning is underpowered and can't keep up with Hawaii sun.
We liked the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, the location. The rooms are marvelous. Lack of balcony, and the very noisy ambient (every morning we were wakened at 7:15 by a singer from the terrace next door and on Sunday even at 6:30 by the awful lumbering of buses collecting groups from the nearby hotels).
Great location, great hotel
Good price. Very helpful and friendly staff Our room wasvery noisy with garbage truchs working most of the night. Second, the shower was terrible. I stay in hotels 120 to 140 nights a year anne this shower was in the bottom 10%.
Courtesy and efficiency of all the staff at the front desk Staff preparing the breakfast was always unhappy like if she didn't like what she was doing. Nevertheless she was doing her tasks well.
This is a great small hotel, in a great location. The beds are wonderful and the rooms tasteful.
friendly staff and very helpfull, nice design and position just perfect
The hotel staff was very professional and helpful. During our stay, my husband was ill. The hotel staff referred us to Straub Hospital where he received very good care. We would have liked to have some hot breakfast items to choose from such as hot biscuits, eggs, etc.
The staff were extremely helpful anf friendly. I would recommend the hotel without reservation. The breakfast was not all that wonderful. It was served in an alcove which is an extension of the reception area. Only four tables.
convenient location restaurant staff at breakfast could have been more welcoming..... japanese restaurant was closed down
We found the staff very friendly and helpful and the location was quiet and within easy reach of everything.
There was a pool, a fitnessroom and a sauna. Hotel is walking distance to the beach and shopping area, however located in a quiet street so no noise on the streets, supermarkets were close by. Breakfast was very good, very friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms. Balcony with partial ocean and partial mountain view. Microwave and refrigerator in the room. You had to pay for breakfast separately ($8.95 per person), internet was only available in the lobby and you had to pay for a modem if you wanted to get online in your room ($10/day)
Very good location, clean and best value money
The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous, especially reception staff. The breakfasts (at $8.95 each) were satisfactory value for money though were a bit the 'same' each day. Location of hotel was very good ... a quiet street not far from Waikiki shopping and beaches and an easy walk to the Ala Moana Center. The hotel apologised for ongoing renovations but, frankly, they had little impact on day-to-day operations and the noise level was minimal. The room rate was very good and, together with the factors already mentioned, if the hotel maintains these standards, I will definitely stay there again.
the location, the reception desk, bell boy(answer lot of quistion, guid),room breakfast is not fitted for all nationalty(we are from israel), its especialy for asin people
Beautiful location The door to the bathroom would not lock, but that was bareable; Also it took the door to the room a little to long to close. You had to stand there a couple minutes to make sure the door to your room was secured.
Clean, comfortable and affordable room in Waikiki. Although they were renovating the hotel, I was never aware of any noise.
Extreme kindness of people and careful for customers
Seemed to be going through process of converting from/to timeshare arrangement. Seemed to be going through process of converting from/to timeshare arrangement. This didn't effect service but I was always wary that someone was going to hit me up with a sales pitch. They sprayed the rooms with insecticide for cockroaches.
The activities desk. Spoke with one gentleman who was unable to arrange car reservations or recommend alternate modes of transportation and tried to get me to sit through a 90-min timeshare spiel, then waited a 1/2hr to speak to the Expedia lady, only to find out there weren't compact cars available to rent. Walked over to front desk & discussed options to get to Kailua beach. Front desk guys were super nice & gave great recommendations that made my trip great.
This was in a great location. Everything was new and clean. I enjoyed my stay. Would use this place again.
Very close to Ala Moana shopping center and very clean rooms Rooms were kind of small when you look at it. Its perfect for 1 person but probably not for 2 people
Convenient location. Good service. Reasonable price. Jean, Kate and Cathy are the wonderful people who work there and make my stay a very nice experience!
Clean modern hotel It's a ways from Waikiki beach
Very convenient to Ala Moana Shopping Center
Great location if you want to be walking distance from the Ala Moana Shopping Mall Woke up early to machinery noise, this may have be temporary
Nothing at all The staff, the price also we waited in line to check in for over an hour.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Like that there was a Starbucks located inside the hotel. Had a disco there, which is fine for singles, but not too friendly with family with young children. The patrons were a little loud and there was a large crowd outside trying to get in.
Walk to Ala Moana Shopping Center, Waikiki, multiple beaches, on main bus line to other shopping areas Not luxury accommodations but convenient!
Great staff. Great location. Can't think of anything.
Tiny tiny tiny rooms. Not even a desk chair.
Convenience of shopping and dining. Staff was friendly. Semi walking distance to Ala Moana State Park. Single rooms in Kona tower where a bit small and a little outdated. Rooms could use a good deep cleaning. Couch in room had stains on both cushions. Carpets are in need of shampooing..
Staff friendliness and efficiency, cleanliness, location as both beach and shopsnearby Traffic noise, rock hard beds
I like that it was close to waikiki I didn't like the bathroom. Parts of the ceiling were severely water damaged. And the pool was minimal
Kind, friendly and welcoming entire staff Everything
One of the check in clerks seemed a lil strange but other than that staff was friendly, also we asked for a later check out with was denied and the maid came knocking at our doors at 1030 which didn't make me very happy since we had till 11. Other than that I'd stay again just to get away and play tourist for a night.
Location Noisy hallways, can hear people slamming their doors and talking. Walls aren't insulated/sound proof??
Absolutely nothing The whole time was terrible, I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy.
Relatively clean my wife like it. The advertisement was two doubles/queens (I'm not sure which) or King size bed. When I got to the hotel, of course they only had the room with two queens for my wife and I. This seems to be common trend for Waikiki because I had the exact same experience at another hotel.
Everything was as expected!
The water pressure is the only good thing The pictures did not match the room. There was mold on the ceiling and the curtains of the shower as well a rust on the tub and drainage. Spoke to the assistant manager and all I got was the room that you were in was not the one on the picture. No good customer service and people there don't know how to service you.
Location and Price Bathroom could have been a little nicer/updated
The location is great. No ocean views but that was not why I was here. Good city views. Bathroom is dated. The hallways are stinky. Probably from many many years of smoking. carpets dated. Nice big screen TV very comfortable beds very functional overall. After I booked my room and got my confirmation from hotels.com through kayak.com, I was surprised when I checked in and was charged a $10 resort fee they call it. This includes the use of a safe coffee maker ironing board and Wi-Fi. All of this is usually free and most hotels now everybody is charging for it.
The hotel was literally 2 blocks from the beach, so the location was great. It had a balcony with chairs that looked out over a nice park like looking area. The hotel itself was hard to find. There are no signs showing the name of the hotel, an address, nothing. After literally passing it about 5 times, I accidentally saw the name of the hotel around the back on a small sandwich board. You have to enter from the back if you have a car and pay $25 to park. So the hotel itself is decent looking both inside and out, and it is in a great location, literally like 2 blocks from the beach. However, the hotel is ancient, and they do little to no upkeep. The elevator was rickety. The room itself wasn't bad. Big bed, but thankfully there were 5 pillows because they were totally flat. There was a fridge, that almost kept water semi-chilled if you kept it in the freezer part. There was a tiny air conditioner, on the floor that almost kept the room manageable. There was a great balcony, however, you couldn't leave the door open to get the good breeze because there was no screen. The bathroom was minuscule, and clearly had seen better days. The paint was coming off of the ceiling and everything needed an update. Oh and the best part, if you are going there to have a romantic evening, that is good, because there is only one tiny lamp in the room with a really dim bulb for mood lighting. However if you are trying to read a map or make plans for the next day, you better doing during daylight because that one pitiful lamp wasn't enough to read anything. Overall, the place was clean, there were no bugs, for the most part you couldn't hear other people, and once you found the hotel, the location was great. So if you just need a place to crash while you are staying on the island doing other things, it is worth staying. If you are going there for the great things the hotel has to offer, you might want to try elsewhere.
