Parking was too expensive!!! Limited unloading space But wonderful cleaning staff, bell service and front desk TOP NOTCH!
Friendly staff I've paid for an upgrade to a room with a city view. The so called city view was blocked by the adjacent Hyatt House. If you want a city view, move on to the near by Holiday Inn.
We stayed here for the Rock n Roll Marathon. It was located right near the starting line, which was very convenient. They allowed us to have a late check out time so we did not have I rush after the race. The staff was friendly and the hotel was extremely nice. The room was a little small.
Location Cleanliness Comfort Nine
The customer service at this hotel was great. Whether you are going for business or pleasure this hotel has everything you need. I have have stayed in several hotels in New Orleans and this is by far my favorite,
Thought I was staying at a 5 star hotel. It was very clean and upscale.
Great stay! Clean and comfortable hotel. Business center is not free, which is a negative. Carla at the front desk is wonderful!!!
Beautiful hotel! Convenient street car across the street to get all over the city. Staff is very friendly. Many restaurants and shops for in hotel wants. Nothing!
Everything Had trouble with my keycard several times but no biggie
Very nice! We came for our anniversary and it was amazing. The staff made our night special. Layout can be a little confusing from the parking garage to the rooms, but once you get use of it it's a little easier.
The room was very comfortable to be in. The bed was comfy and lighting was calming. Very little hallway noise and never heard the neighboring rooms. All the staff I encountered was friendly and courteous. The bathroom was a little dirty, some mold growing in the crevice of the shower door. A soap wrapper was left in the bathroom from the last guest. Nothing too major though. Only other complaint would be how confusing it is to get from the main lobby to the room elevators and the parking garage. The signage isnt all that handy as in some areas the main lobby isn't mentioned at all, either is the parking garage. It's especially frustrating with the arbitrarily named conference halls displayed all over.
Location of hotel on streetcar line, availability of wifi, on-site dining options, interior atrium atmosphere. The front desk was understaffed for a busy Friday check-in time causing huge delays. Staff in gen were not very friendly in the hotel. Bathroom was very small and chrome fixtures were rusting. Not enough washcloths, hand towels in room. Pillows on bed were uncomfortable/too hard.
We are frequent visitors of the Ritz Carltons and this was the worst facility I've ever been to and service was poor. I was paying $600 a night and felt like I was staying at a Sheraton or worst.
Very elegant and friendly hotel.
Our room 1236 was a great room for us! The facilities were great and the staff was lovely. We enjoyed the food in the restaurant and the Wednesday jazz players. We would definitely return the next time we are in town!
Great location. Had a great stay in 2015. No notice upon arrival or in lobby about renovations. Ongoing construction in suite next door until 6:30PM one night, and non- stop another night - we finally requested to change rooms/floor at 9:30 pm because they would not stop. Intermittent hot water. Fresh paint peeling off the door. Shower rod came down. Our room was not cleaned either day until we requested it upon our return to the room late in the day. Construction workers taking bins of rubbish down the guest elevators; hallways never vacuumed from debris at the end of the day. Staff were indifferent about our circumstances and at times denied what was going on. Wrote a letter to the manager and still have not received any response 5 days later. Very disappointing. Recommend not staying here until construction is complete.
Beautiful property Inconsistent housekeeping.
It's very antique and beautiful Our room was not clean
The front desk staff headed by Shronette Davis is first rate. Their responsiveness to request was quick and the attitude was friendly and nice. We had a problem with our room upon check-in but the staff went out of their way to help remedy the situation. I like the way the shower door opens at the opposite site of the spray head so you don't get the floor wet when getting in The beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast room is lovely and the wait staff extremely efficient. The hotel issued a comp night for the first night mix-up but I had to process it through the booking service through Kiyack. But they haven't returned my calls. The rooms are too small, really for two people, not to mention 3 or 4. The bathroom is very small, with really no place to put the toiletries bags. There are no bath mats so you have to stand on a cold tile floor in your bare feet. The room only has one tiny waste basket in the bathroom. Need more. No way to call housekeeping directly
The staff was great especially the bartender Pammy and housekeeping staff. Beautiful old hotel that been kep up to date. Easy walk to the street cars and walk to Bourbon St and close enough for a $10 Uber ride to Magazine Street, uptown etc.
bathroom sink did not drain all 3 night a guy came to fix it but did not fix it
Amazing classic decor. Great location just far enough away from the noise of Bourbon street. Lacking some of the amenities necessary for a longer stay. No mini-fridge, etc. Parking is overpriced.
Friendly staff Convenient location PB&J sandwiches from 10-11pm In need of renovation Dirty carpet Dirty bed sheets Did not provide bottled water as stated on sight
The Pool It Was Sweet rooftop and had great view and look very rich Pay up for a room King is not that big also plumbing sounds bad like an old hotel will keep you up if light sleeper.
Large room, clean, air conditioned I was inexplicably placed in a room near where construction was being done on a suite. The pounding, hammering and loud conversation woke me early every morning.
Hotel had lots of staff and very polite and clean. Historical significance. Kayak over booked telling us we had a room but the hotel was not advised. Hotel had no knowledge of us coming.
it was a nice place and location the electricity went out, someone was hollering down the hall from us, the toilet would not fill up with water after being flushed I would remove the tank lid to jiggle some parts to make it work we didnt want to call maintenance not to be embarrassed to call maintenance after using the rest room
staff was great, decor was very nice, great bed and linens... the shower/tub combo wasn't bad, but it would be really nice if it were an upgraded glass door shower. not a complaint... but that's something i do look for in a hotel where i pay this much. thanks!
Location Elevators are slow and broke.
Clean, modern amenities. Comfortable beds. Lots of young adults stayed during the weekend and they were up and loud at all hours if the night. Hanging out in the hallways and keeping us up.
Lovely hotel, very pretty. Restaurant is great as well. Nothing
We stay here everytime we come to New Orleans. We love the location and the service has yet to disappoint. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
Located just a couple blocks off bourbon street Shower heads and pressure could be better
Everything went smooth and rooms where very clean. Staff was very friendly.
The hotel is so nice & artsy... The staff was extremely helpful & engaging I felt right at home. I will book there again.
I found everything to be nicely done. It's right where you want to be to get out and see NOLA. I'd recommend to friends. No bathtub is the only thing I can think of that I can complain about. Shower was excellent though.
I liked the location. I didn't like the alarm coming from next door that went off at 8 am every morning. Wasn't able to have a good nights sleep
Location was 2 blocks from Bourbon St, rooms were big with very comfortable beds best place I have stayed in NOLA.
It was a rough start from check-in: - The designated room on our paperwork (King) was not available at check-in, leaving us a couple in two beds - Upon getting to the room, there was toilet paper and urine in the toilet. - There was makeup all over the collar of the bathrobe (being billed as "take it home for $120") - They were able to move us the next night to a king room, which we found out during the middle of the night did not have a working heater (35 degrees outside at this point). So we moved to our third room of the trip that second night. I'll echo the same concerns with customer service that I see in other reviews here. It's a pity because the property itself is well situated and in good company with the likes of the Ritz and Roosevelt. But it failed to meet any standards for cleanliness and overall guest experience.
We stayed here because of the price and location. It seemed to be the best of both worlds and it definitely was! Easy walk to all French Quarter locations. The lobby is gorgeous, as were the rooms. Fun bar in the lobby, too, with live music in the evenings. We were a group of 4 couples and we all loved it. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Location on Canal St is not my favorite (busy, a bit dirty), but you only have to walk 3 blocks to be in the heart of the French quarter.
The pool is so nice! Our room was fabulous!
The hotel was beautiful, room was comfortable, staff was wonderful Our only complaints were that the tv didn't always work very well. It would cut out for no apparent reason and sometimes just stop working. We also felt that the movie rentals were absurdly expensive. I've never had a hotel charge $19 for almost every movie available.
The room was beautiful, the staff was very helpful and alway available. I really miss not having a coffee maker in my room.
The building is beautiful and there are great bars/restaurants in the lobby. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit disappointing for a luxury hotel. Also, the spa was disappointing.
Room and location The wait staff was slow and unprofessional but the rooms are so nice the 15 minute wait for valet is worth it
the rooms were very modern and very clean... We had problems with the ice maker but the staff helped us out.. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly. I enjoyed the room the location and the stay.
My girlfriend and I went there for Mardi Gras, and it was ideally located - near all of the parades, but far away from the French Quarter that we didn't get a bunch of drunk idiots yelling (although it still sometime happened, which is not the hotel's fault). That being said, it is within 5 minutes walking distance of the middle of the French Quarter. The room was small but very nice (the building is 100 years old). It was also very clean and the staff was overall friendly. For Mardi Gras they give you a wrist band so you can come into the hotel late at night (although they were a bit spotty on checking). Overall, a good place to stay (if you don't mind driving through the one-way streets of downtown New Orleans). You could do a lot worse, especially for Mardi Gras. 4/5 stars. The hotel said it had valet parking, but during Mardi Gras they appeared not to - I had to drive myself to a parking lot 3 blocks away, pay $25 a night to park AND wake up by 9AM to go feed the meter. This seemed a bit unreasonable to me, and it would've been nice if the hotel had let us know beforehand. The continental breakfast is a hotel continental breakfast - mediocre. They had two waffle makers, cereal, biscuits and gravy, hard boiled eggs one day and scrambled eggs the next, and the typically assortment of OJ, Apple Juice, pastries, bagels, tea, coffee, etc. We were told it opened at 5 AM, but found that it was closer to 7AM. Very annoying if you want to wake up early or needed to leave early.
The hotel was beautiful with very friendly staff! Great location! We were right on the edge of Bourbon St. and Canal St., but also close to the Superdome where we attended the US Women's' soccer game! We were able to check in an hour early and when we were leaving the doormen called for us a cab. Very nice experience and would stay again in the future! Definitely take a cab to/from hotel! It was a $36 flat rate and well worth it because they pick you up and drop you off exactly where you need.
I didn't actually get the chance to stay here, as I received an email after booking through AMOMA that the hotel was closing and my room would not be available.
Good location and the Hotel was clean. Upon check into the room, we did not have all the amenities in the room as per the booking it was to be double room with a sofa bed. There was no sofa bed. Also the toilet did not operate at all in the room. Also I was charged for 4 days valet parking when we only stayed 2 days.
Perfect! We moved here from another hotel down re street that was proved double and we couldn't be happier. This place is so nice, breakfast and dinner, great location, rooms and staff! Will definitely stay again.
Location Free drinks and food This was perfect for a quick night away. Location was good and staff was friendly. Paying for parking Bar closed early
Overall this hotel was fantastic. The staff was as friendly and helpful as you could ask for. My husband and I were traveling with four children (ages 8,7,6, and 2) and the value was amazing. I never review anything online but the experience was so good I felt it necessary this time. The fact that there were drinks and popcorn in the lobby the entire time was awesome especially with kids. Breakfast was awesome and offered SO much more than normal hotels do. Plus the "kickback" at 5:30 was our dinner each night. I know for some it might not be their ideal dinner if they are on vacation but traveling with the kids we didn't want to have to go out and the "kickback" offered enough options for everyone to have a full meal. We don't really drink but if you add breakfast, dinner, popcorn as a snack, unlimited soft drinks, and the 3 free "alcoholic beverages" up the value was amazing. The kids loved the pool and hot tub. The rooms were clean and comfortable also. Just a great stay all around. The only complaint I had was that we had pre-paid for the room and when we got there they asked for the card we had used to book the room so they could swipe it. Then when we were checking out I went to check out and pay for the valet ($25 a day and the only option so budget for that as well) and they said it had already been charged to my card. I had no intention of paying for the valet on that card so it bothered me that they charged it and hadn't told us that they were doing it. I do believe that it was a simple misunderstanding though and not dishonest or anything.
We liked the location of this hotel. Close to a trolley stop and within walking distance to shopping, casino and dining. The concierge was very helpful with pointing out locations to eat as well as getting us transportation whenever needed. The shower did not drain well and the toilets didnt flush easily. The weather was quite cold during out trip and the poor sealing of the patio door allowed cold air to stream in.
Bathroom was flooded with water from a leaky ceiling
I loved the staff. . From the front desk to room keeping. .. I had an issue at another hotel but the staff Holiday Inn got me in earlier than normal. Very friendly. My room never got really cold. .. I believe it was a filter problem.
The staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. They went the extra mile with a smile on their faces and really tried hard to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Very much appreciated.
Had trouble using key card to enter and leave parking garage.
$300 a night for a Motel 6 class room? Heavy Construction started at 7 AM on a Saturday , right outside our window. Parking Garage was a nightmare
Average hotel. Gave us two twin beds instead of one king, but still charged us for the king.
Ran into a "problems" with the room (bathtub wasn't draining properly) and that was taken care of swiftly (literally, within minutes of my calling the front desk!). Otherwise, clean, spacious room. The heated pool is a big plus! Worth the extra fee bucks for a pool-side room! The staff was supremely friendly and helpful. Frankly, I was thoroughly pleased.
The rooms are a decent size and the beds are super comfy! We enjoyed our stay the staff was super kind and helpful. I would use this hotel again when traveling to New Orleans again! Everything was clean and when we asked if things to do or places to eat the staff definitely sent us in the right direction and we were never disappointed! Look forward to coming back!
Brand new and very clean, pet friendly, spacious room and very nice design. Staff was very nice and friendly. Great overall.
I loved how convenient of a location it was. I went with my fiancé and another couple and every night we went out, we walked back with no issues. The Rooms were cool and staff was nice. Our rooms never got cleaned but we did receive new towels. Our tv was messed up when we got there but the repair man came up within 30 min and fixed it. Some reviews made me hesitant to book aloft because they've had complaints of rude staff but from our experience with them, they were very helpful and greeted us as we walked in and out of the hotel. I don't have any real complaints other than prices of their "extra options." Parking was ridiculously overpriced so we just went right down the street and parked for $40 the whole weekend which is a bargain compared to what aloft was offering. Also the price for breakfast was also overrated for what they offer. If you want a good breakfast, I suggest finding a local place to try. Much cheaper, less basic. That being said, the negatives about this hotel are greatly outweighed by the positives. I will be looking To stay here again.
Went to a Saints game, it was a great location and easy walk to the French Qtr. as well as the Superdome. Enjoyed the modern décor, lobby bar and pool table.
Close to french quarter, river walk. Room was not cleaned during 3 night stay, even after request. Pool was closed. Bar closed early. Rude staff that was very unhelpful. Would not stay in an aloft again unless absolutely necessary.
The room was very comfortable, and just what we needed. When in New Orleans most of your time is spent outside of the room so for what we used it for it was perfect! Not too far from the main drag. The only difficulty we had with the room was that the pull out sofa was rather hard to manipulate. The only other complaint I have is that I wish the bellman had been more professional, he was extremely nice though.
Location, convenience, decent price, very comfortable beds, new bedding Very thin walls, no dresser in room, weak and unreliable Wi-Fi, very awkward bedside lighting
The location is close to both the French Quarter and the trolleys into the Garden District. The staff is amazing, very helpful. Like most of New Orleans, the place just is not being kept up. The decor is tasteful and the staff keep the place clean. However, many parts could use a fresh coat of paint, new fabric on the furniture and the bathrooms could use a good bleaching and the porcelain touched up.
Great Location. Trolley close by and walk able to French Quarter. Staff could be a little more friendly although they were helpful. Parking is terrible. Parking spaces not large enough for a med. size car. Need more options to park your own car. If you paid $10 more, you could have the hotel park your car? Just give the customer a decent place to park.
Location When we arrived, there was no room at passenger drop off (blocked by a couple taxis) or any employees/valet in sight; we had to take a no parking spot while I went inside. At check in, there were two employees handling intake with about 3-4 people waiting. Instead of one line and customers being taken care of as they arrive, it's luck of the draw if you get in the line that moves. After 25 minutes waiting in the wrong line, and the employees not recognizing me waiting, I talk with people that have long arrived after me to go next; talk about frustrating. The employee was nice, and check in went well. I elected to self park, but turns out, the basement for parking was extremely tight and you can only maneuver down there with a compact vehicle and be an adept driver (avoid if you can and don't be surprised if your vehicle doesn't come out in the same condition you arrived if you do). There is no elevator out of the basement, only one flight of stairs. The room is spacious but no thrills (somehow we were given an accessibility room when we never asked for one). You can hear everything from the lobby (expect drunks at all times of day passing through) and we had to put a towel under the door to muffle some of it. Every so often when the fridge would kick on, it would make a high pitch noise that was annoying and could wake light sleepers. The shower was abysmal and had no shower head. It consisted of an attachment wand with a 2 inch diameter spray nozzle; also the pressure would drop every so often. The room felt dirty (dirt marks still where an old picture once hung) and overpriced (possibly due to it's location they feel they can raise the prices during special events), and will not stay here again.
Very friendly staff and quiet Everything was great
Good location friendly staff
Great staff. Excellent location. Clean, spacious, rooms. Expensive parking.
Nothing The staff was very unprofessional and rude
I just felt dirty staying there. I wanted to be back at my house when i first got there, The carpet looked rough, I didnt even want to take my shoes off. The lighting in the room was very awkward , I did not feel comfortable. The bathroom and the overall room was spacious and the bed was slight comfortable but It has to be the worst room , Ive stayed in , It had a funny smell each time we left and came back. But the biggest joke of them all was , the shower head. Literally , the shower head was smaller than my palm and it only covered one body part at a time. Im just saying! On top of that , the water pressure had the nerve to go out in the middle of my shower so .. yeah I hate that I didnt have more good things to say but , never again will I stay here . I dont care if they offer me free rooms for a month.
Very nice staff, clean and tidy place. Parking was an additional charge but it wasn't overpriced. Easy walk anywhere.
Good location. Self parking was nice and convenient at $20 a day. Some of these maintenance issues were resolved.. But to start we pulled up front, a front desk person was outside and never greeted us. We sat waiting to be helped at the front desk for a while but nobody would make eye contact with us. Two employees were helping two guests. Two others were just walking around. A lot of their rooms, including ours was interior so no windows. We requested a king bed but were given two doubles instead. The ac didn't work half the time. Crummy water pressure in the shower. The tv volume didn't work. One power outlet didn't work.
When we arrived the room was hot and had an odor. We assumed it was just that the unit was set on a high temperature. We lowered it and returned later to find no improvement. The gentleman that came to check tried to convince me that it was working. After I disagreed he got his laser temperature gun. It showed that the AC was not at all working. He told me "at least it's not as hot as some other rooms." After arguing with the front desk that this was not acceptable, I was moved to another hotel across the street. We had to carry our own bags across the street in the middle of the night. Terrible experience and will never go back. Do no recommend this hotel.
We loved the two bedroom suite for our two families. It gave us the option to out kids to bed earlier and still have some adult time after. It was also nice for the kids to play together. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast had good options. Location was pretty convenient. Overall great stay! We would definitely stay again!
Excellent Nothing whatsoever
The staff were nice and polite. That we were checked in and never told our room which was purchased as a double room / bath suite was no longer available. Instead we were put into a single room at the same cost and have had to fight and be the middle man between the hotel and kayak / orbitz to get our more than $600 back. Which honestly really didn't make up for our ruined stay cramped into a tiny room with a group. Completely changing our weekend experience for our first trip to New Orleans. We had expected to be compensated and were even told we would be. But were not and still have yet to receive our refund. ;(.
Convenience, good size of room, availability of buffet breakfast, business area, the buffet breakfast is a bit limited compared to Em bassy Suites for a very similar price,
I love the set up of the room and how spacious it is.
Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Stove, fridge, and microwave went unused but were appreciated. The complimentary breakfast wasn't all that special, but it got the job done
Location was perfect for the French Quarter and the art district The breakfast was horrible and not even close to the standards illustrated on the pictures of their website
Very clean and friendly staff. Terrible parking
Went to the Smoothie King Center to watch the Pelicans game. This hotel was within a 5 min walk. Room was large Room was clean - Hotel feels very new. Finding the parking garage was more challenging than assumed. There is a construction adjacent to the building. Made for an early morning wake-up call.
Love the location! A couple of blocks away from French Quarter keeps the craziness away but close enough to walk everywhere. The check out day, we have 3 different housekeepers knocking on our door, starting at 8 am. We requested 12 pm check out. They confirmed it and I saw them type the request into the system, so I find the 8 am knock quite inappropriate. And there were more than 3 knock through the morning, so it felt like they are trying to chase us out. I have never had such experience before, especially when the actual check out time is 11.30 am, 3 hours away from the first knock. They should have seen it in the system that we have not checked out, so for the housekeepers to knock on our door to clean at 8, I really dont know what the issue was.
The entire staff was very helpful. Trying to get to the hotel was a nightmare as they were working on the street and it was closed. We circled the blocks several times to find the entrance and the cop was no help what so ever. We were let out by the cab two blocks away because we could not find the way in. I found it very odd that the check in was on the 11th floor. They were very nice and very apologetic upon our arrival. The view was from our window was just like the Travelocity commercial as it was just looking at interior windows and down a shaft. The bed was a lot to be desired as it was very uncomfortable. I had to go to the 11th floor 4 times as my key did not work so it would not let me go to my 15th floor. This was just inconvenient.
The first lady in the restaurant when we had breakfast was attentive and excellent. the rooms were a good size and clean and easy to settle into. I also loved the free internet! The staff member when we checked out (Re Jean I think) was quite rude and argued with us. The wireless internet didn't work so we had to plug in all the time. The gym is not well equipped and needed some weights. The pool is very very small
Great customer service & very friendly staff. The only issue we had is that it was confusing getting from the garage to the hotel lobby on the 11th floor. Otherwise everything was stellar.
The room was great! The staff was friendly and helpful! They had our room ready for an early check-in 6 hours prior to our check-in time! I would definitely stay there again!
We like everything.... 2blks frm Bourbon St and 1blk frm Canal. Walking distance to everything. Definite return spot for Us.
Hotel customer Service, facilities, free internet!!!! Pool!!!! All in all, an amazing, stress free experience!
Please write at least 15 words - Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was spacious with modern fittings and well maintained.
The hotel was very clean and nice. The WI-FI connection was horrible. No room service. The breakfast was a joke. And even with the 'do not disturb' sign hanging on our door, house keeping continued to knock in our door, even walking in to our room.
The location was great.
The service was the best I had in years. Thank you kayak for this opportunity and thank you hilton for getting it right the time!
The room was very nice, spacious and clean. The location was very good, only a very short walk to the french quarter and the convention centre. We did not eat in the hotel so can't comment on the restaurant. The hotel was advertised as having a pool but it was very small, you would not be able to swim in it, which was a bit disappointing.
