Location and comfort.
O.K., I know its owned by Hyatt but It still felt boutiquey and small with a personal touch (as if not owned by Hyatt). The staff focused on attentive service, from the front desk, to room service, etc. Its clearly part of the staff culture. There is an intimate feel as if they all know each other--and everything about you. When I spoke to one front desk person they know a discussion I had with another the day before. The Concierge was amazing and made recommendations and the actual reservations and when things were not available made good judgments on his own for changes. We felt like they know us and were watching out for us. It is not that big really which helps in this case. The rooms felt well maintained with a terrific balance of old world and new. Highly Recommended!!!!
it was next to the metro station
The worst hotel Old smelly rooms , bad carpet dirty, wood very bad
Concierge services are exceptional - special thanks to Eric, Remy, Magaly.
Excellent location, helpful staff, clean rooms, large and light bathrooms, really french atmosphere, close to most of the sightseeings and fashion boutiques. The decoration of rooms is a bit tired, but this is a problem of the most of the hotels in the centre of Paris.
Great location ......just a short walk from some fantastic places of great interest. Buzzing cafe night life right on the doorstep too....good atmosphere in the hotel... It seemed expensive and the quality failed to match the expense....certainly for a pound based UK visitor. There was a shortage of helpful welcoming staff....particularly at reception where you face an unacceptable wait. Irritating.
The quality of the rooms, decoration, and space are far far less than shown in the pictures and indicated in the hotel desciption.
The best about hte hotel is its location - just next to the Louvre, between two squares, walking distance to everything I wanted to visit (never took a taxi or any other kind of transport). The receptionists were English-speaking and nice and helpful. The room was spacey (stayed in a junior suit), as well as the bathroom, cosy and clean. In fact, everything in the room, as well as the service, could be compared to a 5* hotel (including the cosmetics in the bathroom). Plus, the free WiFi is a nice addition to all. The hall and the corridors need renewing - the first impression of the hotel lowers ones expectations because of the old and a bit dirty common spaces in the hotel. Another thing, is that the air-conditioning was poorly working and it was a bit hot, but I just turned it off and opened the windows from time to time. Also, unpleasant surprice was the thinnes of the walls - I could hear every slam of a door and footsteps, however, no one really made noise, so I slept like a baby. One more thing about noise is that the windows of my room overlooked an inner yard and when opening the window there was a bussying sound from the air-conditioning or other machines. Overall, these were quite minor problems and didn't spoil my stay in the least!
The welcoming and very helpful staff, cleanliness of rooms, and above all, the excellent location. The room service was poor. We had a baby and we used to order warm milk twice a day. They gave us hot milk one day, watered down the other, cold another, and so on, even though every day we asked for a glass of warm milk. I guess it all depends on who is on the shift.
Location, nice atmosphere On the expensive side
Great traditional typical parisian 4* hotel. Excellent location. Wanted 100 euros to stay until 1:00pm for check-out. Offered me 12 noon free.
location & style
Location, style, very friendly and professional staff at front desk and concierge Room not very spacious, no gym/spa
We loved the central location, across from the Louvre and the Gardens of Toulerie as well as the view of the Eiffel Tower. Sightseeing, shopping and all types of dining were within walking distance. There was nothing unpleasant about this hotel.
The staff was most courteous and helpful. The hotel was very convenient to the heart of Paris and many of its attractions. I recommend that reservations be re-confirmed prior to travelling to avoid any confusion.
Great atmosphere, helpful staff.
The location was perfect for discovering Paris. The apartment was equipped well for the stay. Air conditioning was a welcome relief.
Location Pretty pricy to get two single beds pushed together and called a king size
Great location (at the door of the Louvre, comfortable apartment studio with plenty of space to stretch out, well appointed rooms (fixtures, freshness). gym needed more space and more free weights - really just cardio material. Also, our neighbors above got quite loud (not sure if floors were as sound proofed as could be).
Great location. Apartment - Space for a group of 3-4 people. Free internet and TV lounge.
Nothing Everything. It is a royal rip off. They charge 5 Star prices for a 2 Star property, which is totally incomplete. No armchair in room, air conditioning which was off and the hotel is on a very noisy street, no tall glasses, just tiny wine glasses.A tiny old fashioned TV set
LOCALIZATION - CENTRE OF PARIS, COUPLE METERS FROM LOUWR, APARTAMENT WITH FULLY EQUIPED KITCHEN, TWO ROOMS, SEPARATE WC AND BATHROOM OLD FASHIONED, "LOW" THREE STARS, NOBODY CLEAN ROOMS, TOWELS NOT CHANGED FOR FOUR DAYS, TOO EXPENSIVE
I researched the place on Tripadvisor and read praise for room 306 so I requested it and got it: wonderful! and more than I expected:a spacious sunny apartment with lots of typical Parisian windows onto a fountain and square. Staff were always professional and helpful, their indications for fast orientation on the Metro were invaluable. Not really dislikes but suggestions:While facilities were fine in the small but spotless kitchen, a few basics, like a salt and pepper pot (preferably full) and even a little sugar or cream would not cost the hotel much and make arrivals easier for their guests; also in the bathroom a mug for toothbrushes would have been useful.
We liked the fact that the hotel was in the very center of the city and all the famous sightseeing objects were easy to reach. No, everything was good.
Great location. Staff was very helpful. Room was spacious.
The room was beautifully decorated, spacious and elegant. A very comfortable bed. Great location.
Exellent location and very convenient to shopping ,eating and going to any hot spots in Paris. The room is very clean and kitchen is convenient . The staff are kind and friendly and can speak English very well.
Perfect location, very helpful and friendly receptionists, quite a large room, comfortable to stay with a small kid I would expect more frequent room cleaning and change of towels
location room is too smaill
Cannot beat the location. 1/2 block from the Louvre, metro, shops, restaurants. Excellent rate for location. Balcony in the room.
From your welcome, to daily needs, all the way to check out, the staff were outstanding. The concierge made great recommendations, the doormen polite and efficient, and the housekeeping staff attentive. The rooms were well appointed and the bed (and high count linens) were very comfortable. The location was a huge plus: one block from my business meetings and two blocks from the Louvre. The rooms were on the smaller side but certainly not squished like some French hotels.
Rooms are tiny and overpriced. I have been to Paris many times and the rooms are smaller than any other hotel I've stayed at. Two people can barely move around at the same time.
Staff were helpful and efficient. Hotel was ideally located for sightseeing. The end of the bed was a bit too close to the window and passage was difficult:
The hotel was very well located, basic but clean and it had a nice breakfast. It had absolutely no charm but for a busy tourist eager to see as many sites as possible, it served its purpose very well. Just need to be aware that it is a place to lay your head, not an experience. The hotel lacked any charm at all...it was truly just a place to sleep. The walls seemed very thin and we could hear our neighbours. There was also construction right outside the window and we were not informed of this in advance or even at the time of arrival.
The staff were very helpful and friendly; breakfast was excellent. The location is just brilliant right in the centre of Paris and near to all the sites. The rooms are very small but they are comfortable.
Friendly staff and excellent location Though the room was at the back, we could hear the air conditionning system just under our window and our neighbours a bit too much.
Location is v. good
Rooms are clean and wonderfully decorated in muted colors and real paintings. The layout is very thoughtful so that rooms (smallish given this is Paris) do not feel cramped. Spending extra to book a delux room is probably worth the cost. We stayed at the courtyard and the street side rooms on different nights and both were very quiet. The location of the hotel was perfect for sightseeing and shopping. We also found the front desk and concierge staff to be very professional and friendly. Breakfast selections are limited but more than adequate. You should be aware that this is a boutique hotel and does not have a big lobby space or a restaurant for dinner, but perhaps because of it, the stay feels like you are staying at a very wealthy friend's house. A very special boutique hotel in Paris. We will definitely stay here again in our next visit to Paris. There is nothing that we didn't like.
It was totally luxurious in an unpretentious way, rooms absolutely beautiful, ornate lift, relaxing calm restaurant. Perfect in every way.
Attention to details was good. Advised prior to arrival it was our 20 th wedding anniversary and they had a bottle of wine waiting for us. Very professional staff. My wife liked the chocolate on our bed every night after turndown service. ice machine, coffee/tea facility within the room would be nice . Excer
I liked the staff very much. The food was good and delivered on time. The room was imaginatively designed. My only disappointment was that I was on the top floor and instead of a window lookin onto the Place Vendome, there was a large mirror. Thus the room was dark at all times.
Well situated near place Vendome, very helpful staff. Everything was excelent.
The staff were outstanding and most polite and helpful.
water would change temputer during taking a shower
the location was great and the small hotel was very private.
The room was well laid out and the staff was very curteous. The hotel was in an excellent location. I could not get the free wifi to work on my computer and the hotel staff had no soluition. The lighting system was hard to figure out.
Convenient location, a comfortable room suite, a good restaurant with Michelline star, mostly friendly staff, The attitude of some people from the staff
View of Tuileries and Eiffel Tower was marvelous. Staff were delightful. It's a little tired. Rooms with view of courtyard are dark. Food service is lackluster and expensive. Breakfast was cold and slow. Decor is very worn. Salon is trying so hard but misses chic by a mile. Staff are charming.
Location, close to most of the tourist destination on walking distance... Overpriced for the services they offered..
Truly excellent hotel. Currently probably the best in Paris
i liked a lot the people working there , very nice and friendly some of the rooms were not well lit , hence it was uncomfortable for packing and reading also the safe gave me a lot of trouble it wasnt working properly lift too small and not enough for staff and guests
The restaurant is fantastic, and overall the hotel ambience was good. Location good too. No shower! not even a clip to hang the shower attachment on! Small bath. No mini bar. Not enough room to swing a cat in. 'Shabby chic' definitely the correct description as rooms very tired decor wise - handle even dropped off the wardrobe door. Ridiculously, outrageously overpriced!!!!!
The special atmosfear of the hotel
Location is perfectly central - 100meters from the Seine opposite the Louvre. Hotel is compact and upstairs corridors only fit one person at a time but is the most unique, quirky and original design I have ever seen (You must see to believe!). The room was small but amazing and I believe every room is decorated differently. I would recommend anyone to stay here and when they do - book the private plunge pool and steam room for yourself for an hour in the morning. Take time to sit in the bar drawing room to sip a drink 100 years back in time. Staff were very friendly and practically ran my life for 2 days with all the questions they answered for me!
Quirky idiosyncatic place with character. Excellent location. We loved it.
extremely friendly staff - small, but cosy room - nice and tasteful furniture private pool in the cellar was a bit strange (resembling a dungeon) but in some way also funny and romantic
Critically understaffed probably due to so many French employees taking summer holidays. Found broken glasses left unattended around the poolside. No running hot water during my stay, but given discounted rate and very commited staff (although few in numbers) and the manager, after all satisfactory. Yet I doubt if I want to come back on special occasions and never on summer holiday season.
The facility exceeded expectations as well as the staff and the room. I was fortunately upgraded, possibly because the restaurant was closed for a day due to a Fashion shoot in the hotel. I couldn't have been more pleased with everything.
Unusual hotel - funky decor Swimming pool is tiny. First day and a half no hot water. Restaurant was closed
I liked going to the steam room & the fact that the spa area stayed open late. The concierge was very handy and helpful to have for making reservations and checking travel routes. The hotel was very expensive and the rooms are still quite small (I know rooms are small in Paris, I go there often). I just don't think it is worth the money when all that extra money added was a spa we rushed back to after dinner at night to feel like we were getting the value of the hotel.
Tasteful hotel Very very small rooms - no view
rooms must have been recently renovated... clean and modern... small but well laid out.. bathrooms were very well done ... staff excellent.. pool and workout facilities great no hotel was great...only disappointment was that we were there in August and that is when parisians vacation and as result many restaurants etc close for the month... and restaurant closed at hotel for month of august.
we liked the wery good position but more of all we have appreciated the wery wery good restaurant PINXO and his chef staff the only person who speaks italian is ......the italian barman (very kindly), nothing is written in italian but spanish yes!
Fully Equiped, clean & new Room, with a good location Very Tiny Room
I thought that the staff were helpful, but did not enjoy the stay as much as last time. Do not stay in Room 101 it supposed to be a luxury room where it is really expensive and is right on the front opposite the Irish Bar. Very noisy at night. Did not get a very good night sleep the first night of the holiday.
The rooms are a lot smaller than you would expext.
close to everything it was wonderful,
Space inside room was quite limited
Particularly given my short stay (2 days), the staff has been very helpful in assisting me in various things, e.g. getting a ticket to a sold out event.
Service was excellent. All staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful. The hotel is conveniently located 5 min from the Louvre, restaurants and the metro. Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
They should not advertise free internet as for four days I could not check my e-mails as two same people were occupying the two computers they have for hours every day.
Overall help with taxis, dinner reservations, comfort of the room, location close to exciting parts of Paris, extremely helpful staff. Also, the size of the room, relative to other Paris hotels, is superior. A nice, professional, contemporary hotel with a first-class staff and great attention to detail.
The location was great very central The area looked abit dodgy at night but we had no trouble whatsoever!
We didn't like the third bed, was too small
The locxation is great for the cente of Paris, without being in any high traffic or people area. The Hotel facilities are good and the breakfast a splendid spread. Taxis are hard to come by, and the Chatalet station, whilst being very close, is a nightmare to understand (Not the Hotels problem)
Well located in a lively part of Paris and close to shopping and restaurants.
Location. Nice rooms. Long waiting line at the breakfast
easy to visit shops and west bank area the shower cubical water flow was poor to non-existant. we complained to room supervisor but told it was normal on 5th floor
Very convenient to RER. Great location! Quiet. Friendly staff.
Facilies were very nice and the location is very central. Very short walk to multiple train lines and metro. With one exception with an encounter with a bartender which was terrible, the staff was great. Most front door men are always hustling bags, giving directions and calling cabs. All spoke English. Family's be aware of one minor quirk. The bathroom and shower doors are clear glass with a dulling switch. It just doesn't get real dull. It's still very see through for all members to see. However the rooms were very modern and clean.
There was no room for unpacking our clothes! stayed for one week and there was not a single drawer or shelf to store anything so after paying the rate of a 4 star hotel, we got the "confort" level of a 2 star hotel instead. The carpets were filthy and the matresses were soiled! The narrow hallways smelled and felt like a cheap cruiseship. We are very dissapointed with the quality of the rooms and the overall value of this hotel.
I had a great stay. Staff was very polite and helpful. Location was perfect, breakfast was delicious. Will come back again
The position Frankly more or less everything! In serious need of modernisation!! Air cond not functioning in a great number of rooms, carpets hardly clean in common areas, state of the building itself, in the garden show the lack of maintenance. An overpriced, and way overrated hotel.
location of hotel was amazing, staff was great, concierge was great. everything was fine
Great location, excellent base for touring and exploring from. Park right across the street and metro station at front door. Staff very friendly - concierge service was excellent helping with decisions and arrangements. Enjoyed the bar in the evenings. Would likely stay there on any return trip.
My boyfriend and I stayed here on our first trip to Paris. The location is amazing - a metro stop across the street, as well as the Louvre and Tuilleries gardens. The bed was large and comfortable, and our room was cleaned no matter how late in the day. The restaurant had a beautiful courtyard and good food (breakfast is not included). The room was a little dark, but the common areas of the hotel felt luxurious. Couldn't have asked for a better location, especially at the price we got. The room was a little dark - could have used more lamps and another mirror. A few nights there was noise from people either closing doors or shutters in the hotel. For some reason the front desk took about an hour to deliver us our bags despite multiple calls, but that was the only time we had an issue with service.
great hotel no complaints
Very comfortable, affordable Hotel with the luxury of the Spa. After long days of walking it was great to relax in the pool and spa! The room was very big as is the American way! Location was perfect.
The location was awesome! The noise and lack of an outlet in the bathroom, The room was also dated and could see years of wear and tear.
Location ... Location ... Location The courtyards are just gorgeous and what better place to enjoy breakfast or coffee or a drink. We loved our room, # 210. it had a loft with a bed. and a view of the courtyard. Breakfast was not included. I think the room price should include it !
Quiet and cozy room. Spacious and clean. Staff was very helpful at check in and the few times I requested suggestions for dining.
Overall was a great place but its ally was given a room that was approximently 250 sq feet. Enough place for one but NOT two. To change rooms it cost an extra $50.00/ day. And while we were there the room was rented out again with the same result occurring to another couple. So while it made have great qualities the hotel still scams the customer.
Concierge was extremely helpful with planning day trips and use of metro. We travelled with subway and bus without any trouble as they give you maps and great instructions. Rooms were clean and had fresh crisp white linens. Housecoat and slippers to use spa. Courtyard lovely to sit in while waiting for wife to get ready. We had a two level suite on mainfloor over looking a very French courtyard/garden.
The room we had on our second night was very nice. It was as we had booked - a Classic room. I don't understand. If you don't want us to write about a bad experience - which we had - why ask?
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were exceptional. They did everything within their power to make your stay more enjoyable and to assist you in any matter.
Perfect location for side seeing and museums, especially Louvre as well as for shopping There is no real lobby and reception desk - instead rather ridiculous two stands for staff
Design and location food
Hotels name is not visible from the street
Very clean dust free environment due to no rugs on the floor. Excellent staff service. Small hotel, with very personal service. Very quiet room. Excellent location. At 400 a night, it seemed pricey but I don't visit Paris enough to know the going rates. I walked into another 4 star and asked about rates and they were 25 to 30 % cheaper. The quality of the service at L'Empire is so good though that it was worth the extra money. Also, their web site on Hotels.com listed shuttle service which they didn't have, although to their credit, they found me a shuttle service, although in the end I chose to take a car to the airport.
Every single member of staff was very friendly and very helpful. The hotel was in a perfect location, between all the main sights to see. The foyer was a little plain and not very welcoming.
Everything was excellent. Staff are very helpful & facilities great. The location is superb, close to Louvre, Pont Neuf and Metro but very quiet in rooms.
The staff were very nice and helpful and spoke good english. The breakfasts were very good, we also liked the nice linen used and the comfortable bed. The hotel reception area is not very welcoming. There is only an old couch and 2 very small reception desks with poor quality music playing. My first impression of the hotel was not good, they could have made the reception area much more inviting - get rid of the couch!! We also didnt like the shower as it was hand held! - makes it hard to wash your hair, thats if there is any hot water as on 2 occasions in the morning there was no hot water, especially annoying on the morning of departure before a 24 hour flight home!
Location Room service was rude, the bathroom smelled really bad and it stunk up the bedroom. breakfast was not good nor tasty. The bed was not king or queen size, it was two single beds put togather, very uncomfortable
Design and Decoration Broken Lift more than 1 Day (If Compare with this Level)
During the daytime it was good to be so central to major sightseeing areas. At night we felt a bit more isolated, with many of the shops etc closed.
Very friendly staff especially the evening that we arrived. All spoke very good english and were very helpful and very friendly with my children Unfortunately there was no hot water in our apartment and the shower door had come off its hinges, which was not immediately apparent on our arrival. However, the staff resolved this by giving us access to the bathroom in the room next door. Not ideal but it worked out for us
The location overlooking the Tuilleries on Rue de Rivoli was excellent. The lounge was cosy. The person handling the Reception much of the time was consistently unpleasant, unhelpful and almost rude. One person handling the luggage would not reply or confirm that the Hotel would keep the luggage for sometime after check out.
Hotel Brighton is extremely elegant and stylish. It is the ultimate address for a short, comfortable and realistically priced stay in Paris.
Location, location, location.
Location to major tourist sites very good Free internet access spacious room Poor reception area ,lack of assistance on arrival, room furniture in poor conditionlack of cleaning to room ie not vacumned & dirty glasses not replaced or cleaned
Location - near the Louvre and short walk to the Arch de Triumph. Outside view from our room was to an interior courtyard - no view.
Location was wonderful- right next to Louvre and Tuileries. Comfortable walking distance to all attractions. Front desk manager was quite rude and unobliging.
Location fantastic Would have been nice to have a bar in the hotel
The hotel is located central to many things to do in Paris. The building is quaint and pretty. It was warm weather for October and we were told there is no A.C. and no fans. The staff at the desk was unfriendly the maids and bellman helpful and friendly. Our room was extremely hot and located on floor one so if you opened the window for air you had the option of car exhaust, very noisey traffic or a pigeon joining you. I was confined in this room on 2nd day of trip with a broken pelvis from a fall on the sidewalk in Paris.I was very glad to be able to leave this very uncomfortable room and bathroom that smelled like a urinal. Despite many concerned calls from my husband to make arrangements for a car to take us to airport, the evening before no one knew anything about it and was irrated at our inquiries.
